* dio: use dio_match_device() in dio_bus_match()Akinobu Mita2008-07-201-13/+1

* arch/m68k/mm/sun3mmu.c: Eliminate NULL test and memset after alloc_bootmemJulia Lawall2008-07-201-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | As noted by Akinobu Mita in patch b1fceac2b9e04d278316b2faddf276015fc06e3b, alloc_bootmem and related functions never return NULL and always return a zeroed region of memory. Thus a NULL test or memset after calls to these functions is unnecessary. This was fixed using the following semantic patch. (http://www.emn.fr/x-info/coccinelle/) // <smpl> @@ expression E; statement S; @@ E = \(alloc_bootmem\|alloc_bootmem_low\|alloc_bootmem_pages\|alloc_bootmem_low_pages\)(...) .. when != E ( - BUG_ON (E == NULL); | - if (E == NULL) S ) @@ expression E,E1; @@ E = \(alloc_bootmem\|alloc_bootmem_low\|alloc_bootmem_pages\|alloc_bootmem_low_pages\)(...) .. when != E - memset(E,0,E1); // </smpl> Signed-off-by: Julia Lawall <julia@diku.dk> Signed-off-by: Geert Uytterhoeven <geert@linux-m68k.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@linux-foundation.org>

| | | | | | | | | | | Looking at older kernel sources the APOLLO_ELPLUS option was added somewhere during kernel 2.1, but even kernel 2.2.0 does not contain any driver that would be enabled through it... | * configfs: Allow ->make_item() and ->make_group() to return detailed errors.Joel Becker2008-07-177-37/+31
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The configfs operations ->make_item() and ->make_group() currently return a new item/group. A return of NULL signifies an error. Because of this, -ENOMEM is the only return code bubbled up the stack. Multiple folks have requested the ability to return specific error codes when these operations fail. This patch adds that ability by changing the ->make_item/group() ops to return ERR_PTR() values. These errors are bubbled up appropriately. NULL returns are changed to -ENOMEM for compatibility. Also updated are the in-kernel users of configfs. This is a rework of reverted commit 11c3b79218390a139f2d474ee1e983a672d5839a. Signed-off-by: Joel Becker <joel.becker@oracle.com>
