* net/core: work around section mismatch warning for ptp_classifierArd Biesheuvel2019-04-161-3/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | The routine ptp_classifier_init() uses an initializer for an automatic struct type variable which refers to an __initdata symbol. This is perfectly legal, but may trigger a section mismatch warning when running the compiler in -fpic mode, due to the fact that the initializer may be emitted into an anonymous .data section thats lack the __init annotation. So work around it by using assignments instead. Signed-off-by: Ard Biesheuvel <ard.biesheuvel@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Gerald Schaefer <gerald.schaefer@de.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: David S. * ptp: Change ptp_class to a proper bitmaskStefan Sørensen2015-11-031-8/+8
| | | | | | | | | Change the definition of PTP_CLASS_L2 to not have any bits overlapping with the other defined protocol values, allowing the PTP_CLASS_* definitions to be for simple filtering on packet type. * ptp: Classify ptp over ip over vlan packetsStefan Sørensen2014-07-071-6/+58
| | | | | | | | | This extends the ptp bpf to also match ptp over ip over vlan packets. The ptp classes are changed to orthogonal bitfields representing version, transport and vlan values to simplify matching. * net: filter: let unattached filters use sock_fprog_kernDaniel Borkmann2014-05-231-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The sk_unattached_filter_create() API is used by BPF filters that are not directly attached or related to sockets, and are used in team, ptp, xt_bpf, cls_bpf, etc. As such all users do their own internal managment of obtaining filter blocks and thus already have them in kernel memory and set up before calling into sk_unattached_filter_create(). As a result, due to __user annotation in sock_fprog, sparse triggers false positives (incorrect type in assignment [different address space]) when filters are set up before passing them to sk_unattached_filter_create(). Therefore, let sk_unattached_filter_create() API use sock_fprog_kern to overcome this issue. * net: ptp: move PTP classifier in its own fileDaniel Borkmann2014-04-011-0/+141
This commit fixes a build error reported by Fengguang, that is triggered when CONFIG_NETWORK_PHY_TIMESTAMPING is not set: ERROR: "ptp_classify_raw" [drivers/net/ethernet/oki-semi/pch_gbe/pch_gbe.ko] undefined! The fix is to introduce its own file for the PTP BPF classifier, so that PTP_1588_CLOCK and/or NETWORK_PHY_TIMESTAMPING can select it independently from each other. IXP4xx driver on ARM needs to select it as well since it does not seem to select PTP_1588_CLOCK or similar that would pull it in automatically. This also allows for hiding all of the internals of the BPF PTP program inside that file, and only exporting relevant API bits to drivers. This patch also adds a kdoc documentation of ptp_classify_raw() API to make it clear that it can return PTP_CLASS_* defines. Also, the BPF program has been translated into bpf_asm code, so that it can be more easily read and altered (extensively documented in [1]). In the kernel tree under tools/net/ we have bpf_asm and bpf_dbg tools, so the commented program can simply be translated via `./bpf_asm -c prog` where prog is a file that contains the commented code. This makes it easily readable/verifiable and when there's a need to change something, jump offsets etc do not need to be replaced manually which can be very error prone. Instead, a newly translated version via bpf_asm can simply replace the old code. I have checked opcode diffs before/after and it's the very same filter.
