* [NETNS][IPV6]: inet6_addr - make ipv6_chk_home_addr namespace awareDaniel Lezcano2008-01-281-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | Looks if the address is belonging to the network namespace, otherwise discard the address for the check. Signed-off-by: Daniel Lezcano <dlezcano@fr.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: Benjamin Thery <benjamin.thery@bull.net> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [IPV6]: make extended headers to return an error at initializationDaniel Lezcano2008-01-281-25/+39
| | | | | | | | | | This patch factorize the code for the differents init functions for rthdr, nodata, destopt in a single function exthdrs_init. This function returns an error so the af_inet6 module can check correctly the initialization. Signed-off-by: Daniel Lezcano <dlezcano@fr.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [NET]: Eliminate duplicate copies of dst_discardHerbert Xu2008-01-281-11/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | We have a number of copies of dst_discard scattered around the place which all do the same thing, namely free a packet on the input or output paths. This patch deletes all of them except dst_discard and points all the users to it. The only non-trivial bit is decnet where it returns an error. However, conceptually this is identical to the blackhole functions used in IPv4 and IPv6 which do not return errors. So they should either all return errors or all return zero. For now I've stuck with the majority and picked zero as the return value. It doesn't really matter in practice since few if any driver would react differently depending on a zero return value or NET_RX_DROP. * [IPV6]: Replace sk_buff ** with sk_buff * in input handlersHerbert Xu2007-10-151-27/+14
| | | | | | | | | With all the users of the double pointers removed from the IPv6 input path, this patch converts all occurances of sk_buff ** to sk_buff * in IPv6 input handlers. Signed-off-by: Herbert Xu <herbert@gondor.apana.org.au> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [IPV6]: Avoid skb_copy/pskb_copy/skb_realloc_headroom on inputHerbert Xu2007-10-151-18/+5
| | | | | | | | | | This patch replaces unnecessary uses of skb_copy by pskb_expand_head on the IPv6 input path. This allows us to remove the double pointers later. Signed-off-by: Herbert Xu <herbert@gondor.apana.org.au> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [IPV6]: Do not send RH0 anymore.YOSHIFUJI Hideaki2007-07-101-78/+0

* [IPV6]: Restore semantics of Routing Header processing.YOSHIFUJI Hideaki2007-07-101-31/+16
| | | | | | | | | | | | | The "fix" for emerging security threat was overkill and it broke basic semantic of IPv6 routing header processing. We should assume RT0 (or even RT2, depends on configuration) as "unknown" RH type so that we - silently ignore the routing header if segleft == 0 - send ICMPv6 Parameter Problem message back to the sender, otherwise. * [IPV6] MIP6: Loadable module support for MIPv6.Masahide NAKAMURA2007-07-101-9/+10
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch makes MIPv6 loadable module named "mip6". Here is a modprobe.conf(5) example to load it automatically when user application uses XFRM state for MIPv6: alias xfrm-type-10-43 mip6 alias xfrm-type-10-60 mip6 Some MIPv6 feature is not included by this modular, however, it should not be affected to other features like either IPsec or IPv6 with and without the patch. We may discuss XFRM, MH (RAW socket) and ancillary data/sockopt separately for future work. Loadable features: * MH receiving check (to send ICMP error back) * RO header parsing and building (i.e. RH2 and HAO in DSTOPTS) * XFRM policy/state database handling for RO These are NOT covered as loadable: * Home Address flags and its rule on source address selection * XFRM sub policy (depends on its own kernel option) * XFRM functions to receive RO as IPv6 extension header * MH sending/receiving through raw socket if user application opens it (since raw socket allows to do so) * RH2 sending as ancillary data * RH2 operation with setsockopt(2) Signed-off-by: Masahide NAKAMURA <nakam@linux-ipv6.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [IPV6]: Do no rely on skb->dst before it is assigned.YOSHIFUJI Hideaki2007-05-101-4/+12
| | | | | | | | | Because skb->dst is assigned in ip6_route_input(), it is really bad to use it in hop-by-hop option handler(s). Closes: Bug #8450 (Eric Sesterhenn <snakebyte@gmx.de>) Signed-off-by: YOSHIFUJI Hideaki <yoshfuji@linux-ipv6.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

* [NET]: cleanup extra semicolonsStephen Hemminger2007-04-251-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | Spring cleaning time... There seems to be a lot of places in the network code that have extra bogus semicolons after conditionals. Most commonly is a bogus semicolon after: switch() { } Signed-off-by: Stephen Hemminger <shemminger@linux-foundation.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [SK_BUFF]: Convert skb->tail to sk_buff_data_tArnaldo Carvalho de Melo2007-04-251-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | So that it is also an offset from skb->head, reduces its size from 8 to 4 bytes on 64bit architectures, allowing us to combine the 4 bytes hole left by the layer headers conversion, reducing struct sk_buff size to 256 bytes, i.e. 4 64byte cachelines, and since the sk_buff slab cache is SLAB_HWCACHE_ALIGN... :-) Many calculations that previously required that skb->{transport,network, mac}_header be first converted to a pointer now can be done directly, being meaningful as offsets or pointers. Signed-off-by: Arnaldo Carvalho de Melo <acme@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [SK_BUFF]: unions of just one member don't get anything done, kill themArnaldo Carvalho de Melo2007-04-251-3/+3
| | | | | | | | | Renaming skb->h to skb->transport_header, skb->nh to skb->network_header and skb->mac to skb->mac_header, to match the names of the associated helpers (skb[_[re]set]_{transport,network,mac}_header). * [SK_BUFF]: Introduce skb_network_header_lenArnaldo Carvalho de Melo2007-04-251-4/+4
| | | | | | | | | | For the common sequence "skb->h.raw - skb->nh.raw", similar to skb->mac_len, that is precalculated tho, don't think we need to bloat skb with one more member, so just use this new helper, reducing the number of non-skbuff.h references to the layer headers even more. Signed-off-by: Arnaldo Carvalho de Melo <acme@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [SK_BUFF]: Use the helpers to get the layer header pointerArnaldo Carvalho de Melo2007-04-251-1/+1

* [SK_BUFF]: Introduce skb_transport_header(skb)Arnaldo Carvalho de Melo2007-04-251-11/+10
| | | | | | | | | For the places where we need a pointer to the transport header, it is still legal to touch skb->h.raw directly if just adding to, subtracting from or setting it to another layer header. Signed-off-by: Arnaldo Carvalho de Melo <acme@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [SK_BUFF]: Introduce skb_transport_offset()Arnaldo Carvalho de Melo2007-04-251-5/+7
| | | | | | | For the quite common 'skb->h.raw - skb->data' sequence. Signed-off-by: Arnaldo Carvalho de Melo <acme@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [SK_BUFF]: Introduce ipv6_hdr(), remove skb->nh.ipv6hArnaldo Carvalho de Melo2007-04-251-10/+10
| | | | | | | | | | Now the skb->nh union has just one member, .raw, i.e. it is just like the skb->mac union, strange, no? I'm just leaving it like that till the transport layer is done with, when we'll rename skb->mac.raw to skb->mac_header (or ->mac_header_offset?), ditto for ->{h,nh}. Signed-off-by: Arnaldo Carvalho de Melo <acme@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [SK_BUFF]: Introduce skb_network_header()Arnaldo Carvalho de Melo2007-04-251-23/+33
| | | | | | | | | For the places where we need a pointer to the network header, it is still legal to touch skb->nh.raw directly if just adding to, subtracting from or setting it to another layer header. * [IPV6]: Use skb->nh.ipv6h instead of casting skb->nh.rawArnaldo Carvalho de Melo2007-04-251-1/+1
| | | | | | | nh.ipv6h is there exactly for this reason! Use it while it exists ;-) Signed-off-by: Arnaldo Carvalho de Melo <acme@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

* [NET]: convert network timestamps to ktime_tEric Dumazet2007-04-251-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | We currently use a special structure (struct skb_timeval) and plain 'struct timeval' to store packet timestamps in sk_buffs and struct sock. This has some drawbacks : - Fixed resolution of micro second. - Waste of space on 64bit platforms where sizeof(struct timeval)=16 I suggest using ktime_t that is a nice abstraction of high resolution time services, currently capable of nanosecond resolution. As sizeof(ktime_t) is 8 bytes, using ktime_t in 'struct sock' permits a 8 byte shrink of this structure on 64bit architectures. Some other structures also benefit from this size reduction (struct ipq in ipv4/ip_fragment.c, struct frag_queue in ipv6/reassembly.c, ...) Once this ktime infrastructure adopted, we can more easily provide nanosecond resolution on top of it. (ioctl SIOCGSTAMPNS and/or SO_TIMESTAMPNS/SCM_TIMESTAMPNS) Note : this patch includes a bug correction in compat_sock_get_timestamp() where a "err = 0;" was missing (so this syscall returned -ENOENT instead of 0) Signed-off-by: Eric Dumazet <dada1@cosmosbay.com> CC: Stephen Hemminger <shemminger@linux-foundation.org> CC: John find <linux.kernel@free.fr> Signed-off-by: David S. * [IPV6]: Disallow RH0 by default.YOSHIFUJI Hideaki2007-04-241-6/+34
| | | | | | | | | A security issue is emerging. Disallow Routing Header Type 0 by default as we have been doing for IPv4. Note: We allow RH2 by default because it is harmless. Signed-off-by: YOSHIFUJI Hideaki <yoshfuji@linux-ipv6.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [PATCH] remove many unneeded #includes of sched.hTim Schmielau2007-02-141-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | After Al Viro (finally) succeeded in removing the sched.h #include in module.h recently, it makes sense again to remove other superfluous sched.h includes. There are quite a lot of files which include it but don't actually need anything defined in there. Presumably these includes were once needed for macros that used to live in sched.h, but moved to other header files in the course of cleaning it up. To ease the pain, this time I did not fiddle with any header files and only removed #includes from .c-files, which tend to cause less trouble. Compile tested against 2.6.20-rc2 and 2.6.20-rc2-mm2 (with offsets) on alpha, arm, i386, ia64, mips, powerpc, and x86_64 with allnoconfig, defconfig, allmodconfig, and allyesconfig as well as a few randconfigs on x86_64 and all configs in arch/arm/configs on arm. I also checked that no new warnings were introduced by the patch (actually, some warnings are removed that were emitted by unnecessarily included header files). * [IPV6]: Allow to replace skbuff by TLV parser.Masahide NAKAMURA2006-09-221-10/+19
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | In receiving Mobile IPv6 home address option which is a TLV carried by destination options header, kernel will try to mangle source adderss of packet. Think of cloned skbuff it is required to replace it by the parser just like routing header case. This is a framework to achieve that to allow TLV parser to replace inbound skbuff pointer. * Linux-2.6.12-rc2v2.6.12-rc2Linus Torvalds2005-04-161-0/+575
Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
