bridge window"
This reverts commit 1737cac69369 ("bus: mvebu-mbus: make sure SDRAM CS
for DMA don't overlap the MBus bridge window"), because it breaks DMA
on platforms having more than 2 GB of RAM.
This commit changed the information reported to DMA masters device
drivers through the mv_mbus_dram_info() function so that the returned
DRAM ranges do not overlap with I/O windows.
This was necessary as a preparation to support the new CESA Crypto
Engine driver, which will use DMA for cryptographic operations. But
since it does DMA with the SRAM which is mapped as an I/O window,
having DRAM ranges overlapping with I/O windows was problematic.
To solve this, the above mentioned commit changed the mvebu-mbus to
adjust the DRAM ranges so that they don't overlap with the I/O
windows. However, by doing this, we re-adjust the DRAM ranges in a way
that makes them have a size that is no longer a power of two. While
this is perfectly fine for the Crypto Engine, which supports DRAM
ranges with a granularity of 64 KB, it breaks basically all other DMA
masters, which expect power of two sizes for the DRAM ranges.
Due to this, if the installed system memory is 4 GB, in two
chip-selects of 2 GB, the second DRAM range will be reduced from 2 GB
to a little bit less than 2 GB to not overlap with the I/O windows, in
a way that results in a DRAM range that doesn't have a power of two
size. This means that whenever you do a DMA transfer with an address
located in the [ 2 GB ; 4 GB ] area, it will freeze the system. Any
serious DMA activity like simply running:
for i in $(seq 1 64) ; do dd if=/dev/urandom of=file$i bs=1M count=16 ; done
in an ext3 partition mounted over a SATA drive will freeze the system.
Since the new CESA crypto driver that uses DMA has not been merged
yet, the easiest fix is to simply revert this commit. A follow-up
commit will introduce a different solution for the CESA crypto driver.

Commit a0b5cd4ac2d6 ("bus: mvebu-mbus: use automatic I/O
synchronization barriers") enabled the usage of automatic I/O
synchronization barriers by enabling bit WIN_CTRL_SYNCBARRIER in the
control registers of MBus windows, but on non io-coherent platforms
(orion5x, kirkwood and dove) the WIN_CTRL_SYNCBARRIER bit in
the window control register is either reserved (all windows except 6
and 7) or enables read-only protection (windows 6 and 7).

When the PMIC wrapper state machine has read a register it goes into the
"wait for valid clear" (vldclr) state. The state machine stays in this
state until the VLDCLR bit is written to. We should write this bit after
reading a register because the SCPSYS won't let the system go into
suspend as long as the state machine waits for valid clear.
Since now we never leave the state machine in vldclr state we no longer
have to check for this state on pwrap_read/pwrap_write entry and can
remove the corresponding code.

replace chipselect extension values based on SPI clock with hardcoded SoC
specific values.
The PMIC wrapper has the ability of extending the chipselects by configurable
amounts of time. We configured the values based on the rate of SPI clock, but
this is wrong. The delays should be configured based on the internal PMIC clock
that latches the values from the SPI bus to the internal PMIC registers. By
default this clock is 24MHz. Other clock frequencies are for debugging only
and can be removed from the driver.

Commit 338d9dd3e2ae ("ARM: 8351/1: perf: don't warn about missing

we avoid parsing the interrupt-affinity property for these naturally
affine interrupts.
Unfortunately, this check can trigger an early (successful) return and
we will leak the irqs array. This patch fixes the issue by reordering
the code so that the check is performed before any independent
allocation.

Josh Stone reports:
I've discovered a case where both arm and arm64 will miss a ptrace
syscall-exit that they should report. If the syscall is entered
without TIF_SYSCALL_TRACE set, then it goes on the fast path. It's
then possible to have TIF_SYSCALL_TRACE added in the middle of the
syscall, but ret_fast_syscall doesn't check this flag again.
Fix this by always checking for a syscall trace in the fast exit path.

At boot time we round the memblock limit down to section size in an
attempt to ensure that we will have mapped this RAM with section
mappings prior to allocating from it. When mapping RAM we iterate over
PMD-sized chunks, creating these section mappings.
Section mappings are only created when the end of a chunk is aligned to
section size. Unfortunately, with classic page tables (where PMD_SIZE is
2 * SECTION_SIZE) this means that if a chunk is between 1M and 2M in
size the first 1M will not be mapped despite having been accounted for
in the memblock limit. This has been observed to result in page tables
being allocated from unmapped memory, causing boot-time hangs.
This patch modifies the memblock limit rounding to always round down to
PMD_SIZE instead of SECTION_SIZE. For classic MMU this means that we
will round the memblock limit down to a 2M boundary, matching the limits
on section mappings, and preventing allocations from unmapped memory.
For LPAE there should be no change as PMD_SIZE == SECTION_SIZE.

Use conditional assembly to avoid a microMIPS code size regression.
Using $at unconditionally would cause such a regression as there are no
16-bit instruction encodings available for ALU operations using this
register. Using $v1 unconditionally would produce short microMIPS
encodings, but would prevent this register from being used across calls
to this function.
The extra LI operation introduced is free, replacing a NOP originally
scheduled into the delay slot of the branch that follows.

There is just one configfs subsystem in the target code, so we might as
well add two helpers to reference / unreference it from the core code
instead of passing pointers to it around.
This fixes a regression introduced for v4.1-rc1 with commit 9ac8928e6,
where configfs_depend_item() callers using se_tpg_tfo->tf_subsys would
fail, because the assignment from the original target_core_subsystem[]
is no longer happening at target_register_template() time.

Once upon a time, iscsit_get_tpg() was using an un-interruptible
lock. The signal_pending() usage was a check to allow userspace
to break out of the operation with SIGINT.
AFAICT, there's no reason why this is necessary anymore, and as
reported by Alexey can be potentially dangerous. Also, go ahead
and drop the other two problematic cases within iscsit_access_np()
and sbc_compare_and_write() as well.

TCMU requires more work to correctly handle both user handlers that want
all SCSI commands (pass_level=0) for a se_device, and also handlers that
just want I/O commands and let the others be emulated by the kernel
(pass_level=1). Only support the latter for now.
For full passthrough, we will need to support a second se_subsystem_api
template, due to configfs attributes being different between the two modes.
Thus pass_level is extraneous, and we can remove it.
The ABI break for TCMU v2 is already applied for this release, so it's
best to do this now to avoid another ABI break in the future.

Pull PCI / ACPI fix from Rafael Wysocki:
"This fixes a bug uncovered by a recent driver core change that
modified the implementation of the ACPI_COMPANION_SET() macro to
strictly rely on its second argument to be either NULL or a valid
pointer to struct acpi_device.
As it turns out, pcibios_root_bridge_prepare() on x86 and ia64 works
with the assumption that the only code path calling pci_create_root_bus()
is pci_acpi_scan_root() and therefore the sysdata argument passed to
it will always match the expectations of pcibios_root_bridge_prepare().
That need not be the case, however, and in particular it is not the
case for the Xen pcifront driver that passes a pointer to its own
private data strcture as sysdata to pci_scan_bus_parented() which then
passes it to pci_create_root_bus() and it ends up being used incorrectly
by pcibios_root_bridge_prepare()"

Commit 97badf873ab6 (device property: Make it possible to use
secondary firmware nodes) uncovered a bug in the x86 (and ia64) PCI
host bridge initialization code that assumes bridge->bus->sysdata
to always point to a struct pci_sysdata object which need not be
the case (in particular, the Xen PCI frontend driver sets it to point
to a different data type). If it is not the case, an incorrect
pointer (or a piece of data that is not a pointer at all) will be
passed to ACPI_COMPANION_SET() and that may cause interesting
breakage to happen going forward.
To work around this problem use the observation that the ACPI
host bridge initialization always passes NULL as parent to
pci_create_root_bus(), so if pcibios_root_bridge_prepare() sees
a non-NULL parent of the bridge, it should not attempt to set
an ACPI companion for it, because that means that
pci_create_root_bus() has been called by someone else.
