commit dbc98635e0d4 ("phy: remove the old lookup method") removes
struct phy_consumer but twl-common.c still uses the "phy_consumer"
structure resulting in the following compilation warning.
arch/arm/mach-omap2/twl-common.c:94:21: error: array type has
incomplete element type
struct phy_consumer consumers[] = {
Removed using phy_consumer since twl4030 uses the new lookup
method.

This time, a very pull request with 216 non-merge
commits. Most of the commits contained here are
sparse or coccinelle fixes ranging from missing
'static' to returning 0 in case of errors.
More importantly, we have the removal the now
unnecessary 'driver' argument to ->udc_stop().
DWC2 learned about Dual-Role builds. Users of
this IP can now have a single driver built for
host and device roles.
DWC3 got support for two new HW platforms: Exynos7
and AMD.
The Broadcom USB 3.0 Device Controller IP is now
supported and so is PLX USB338x, which means DWC3
has lost is badge as the only USB 3.0 peripheral
IP supported on Linux.
Thanks for Tony Lindgren's work, we can now have
a distro-like kernel where all MUSB glue layers
can be built into the same kernel (statically
or dynamically linked) and it'll work in PIO (DMA
will come probably on v3.20).
Other than these, the usual set of cleanups and
non-critical fixes.

Whenever Suspend PHY bit is set on AM437x devices,
USB will not work due to Set EP Configuration command
always failing.
This was only found after a recent commit 2164a47 (usb:
dwc3: set SUSPHY bit for all cores, which will be merged
for v3.19) added a missing *required* step to dwc3
initialization. Synopsys Databook requires that we enable
Suspend PHY bit after initialization but that, unfortunately,
breaks AM437x.

Add a DT node for the TRNG (True Random Number Generator) block.
Keep this block enabled as it does not depend on any external connection,
and thus should be available on all boards.

Following the suggestions from Andrew Morton and Stephen Rothwell,
Dont expand the ARCH list in kernel/gcov/Kconfig. Instead,
define a ARCH_HAS_GCOV_PROFILE_ALL bool which architectures
can enable.
set ARCH_HAS_GCOV_PROFILE_ALL on Architectures where it was
previously allowed + ARM64 which I tested.

There are a number of situations where the mandatory barriers rmb() and
wmb() are used to order memory/memory operations in the device drivers
and those barriers are much heavier than they actually need to be. For
example in the case of PowerPC wmb() calls the heavy-weight sync
instruction when for coherent memory operations all that is really needed
is an lsync or eieio instruction.
This commit adds a coherent only version of the mandatory memory barriers
rmb() and wmb(). In most cases this should result in the barrier being the
same as the SMP barriers for the SMP case, however in some cases we use a
barrier that is somewhere in between rmb() and smp_rmb(). For example on
ARM the rmb barriers break down as follows:

These new barriers are not as safe as the standard rmb() and wmb().
Specifically they do not guarantee ordering between coherent and incoherent
memories. The primary use case for these would be to enforce ordering of
reads and writes when accessing coherent memory that is shared between the
CPU and a device.
It may also be noted that there is no dma_mb(). Most architectures don't
provide a good mechanism for performing a coherent only full barrier without
resorting to the same mechanism used in mb(). As such there isn't much to
be gained in trying to define such a function.

This introduces CONFIG_DEBUG_RODATA, making kernel text and rodata
read-only. Additionally, this splits rodata from text so that rodata can
also be NX, which may lead to wasted memory when aligning to SECTION_SIZE.
The read-only areas are made writable during ftrace updates and kexec.

Adds CONFIG_ARM_KERNMEM_PERMS to separate the kernel memory regions
into section-sized areas that can have different permisions. Performs
the NX permission changes during free_initmem, so that init memory can be
reclaimed.
This uses section size instead of PMD size to reduce memory lost to
padding on non-LPAE systems.

With the introduction of Kees Cook's patch to make the kernel .text
read-only the existing method by which kexec works got broken since it
directly pokes some values in the template code, which resides in the
.text section.
The current patch changes the way those values are inserted so that poking
.text section occurs only in machine_kexec (e.g when we are about to nuke
the old kernel and are beyond the point of return). This allows to use
set_kernel_text_rw() to directly patch the values in the .text section.
I had already sent a patch which achieved this but it was significantly
more complicated, so this is a cleaner/straight-forward approach.

Use fixmaps for text patching when the kernel text is read-only,
inspired by x86. This makes jump labels and kprobes work with the
currently available CONFIG_DEBUG_SET_MODULE_RONX and the upcoming

With commit a05e54c103b0 ("ARM: 8031/2: change fixmap mapping region to
support 32 CPUs"), the fixmap region was expanded to 2MB, but it
precluded any other uses of the fixmap region. In order to support other
uses the fixmap region needs to be expanded beyond 2MB. Fortunately, the
adjacent 1MB range 0xffe00000-0xfff00000 is availabe.
Remove fixmap_page_table ptr and lookup the page table via the virtual
address so that the fixmap region can span more that one pmd. The 2nd
pmd is already created since it is shared with the vector page.

ARM is different from other architectures in that fixmap pages are indexed
with a positive offset from FIXADDR_START. Other architectures index with
a negative offset from FIXADDR_TOP. In order to use the generic fixmap.h
definitions, this patch redefines FIXADDR_TOP to be inclusive of the
useable range. That is, FIXADDR_TOP is the virtual address of the topmost
fixed page. The newly defined FIXADDR_END is the first virtual address
past the fixed mappings.

SA-1111 uses internal MMIO space offsets as a device name, so device
name for sa1111 pcmcia is 1800 (PCMCIA is at offset 0x1800).

Both SA1100 framebuffer and PCMCIA drivers require knowledge of cpu
frequency to correctly program timings. Currently they receive timing
information by calling cpufreq_get(0). However if cpu frequency driver
is not enabled (e.g. due to unsupported DRAM chip/board on sa1110)
cpufreq_get(0) returns 0, causing incorrect timings to be programmed.
Add cpu clock returning cpu frequency, to be used by sa11x0 fb and
pcmcia drivers.

This patch just reorders functions/data inside sa1100 irq driver to be
able to merge functions that have the same code after converting to

Switch internally to using hardware irq numbers (hwirq). In case of GPIO
interrupts, hwirq is equal to GPIO number. In case of system interrupts,
hwirq is equal to interrupt number in the interrupt controller.

IRQ_GPIO11_27 is a shared IRQ receiving IRQs from "high" GPIOs. It is
still handled by sa1100_normal_chip, so there is no point to exclude it
from "normal" irq domain. The IRQF_VALID flag set by domain map function
will be cleared by irq_set_chained_handler() internally.

It is more or less a translation of old assembly code from assembler to

Two files that get included when building the multi_v7_defconfig target
fail to build when selecting THUMB2_KERNEL for this configuration.
In both cases, we can just build the file as ARM code, as none of its
symbols are exported to modules, so there are no interworking concerns.
In the iwmmxt.S case, add ENDPROC() declarations so the symbols are
annotated as functions, resulting in the linker to emit the appropriate
mode switches.

If the kernel is running in hypervisor mode or monitor mode we'll
print UK6_32 or UK10_32 if we call into __show_regs(). Let's
update these strings to indicate the new modes that didn't exist
when this code was written.

except memory attribute.
This patch makes to use common function for these, and pull out
the functions into arch/arm/mm/pageattr.c like arm64 did.
It will reduce code size and enhance the readability.

L1_CACHE_BYTES could be larger than real L1 cache line size.
In that case, flush_pfn_alias() would omit to flush last bytes
as much as L1_CACHE_BYTES - real cache line size.
So fix end address to "to + PAGE_SIZE - 1". The bottom bits of the address
is LINELEN. that is ignored by mcrr.
