* MIPS: BCM47xx: Move SPROM driver to drivers/firmware/Rafał Miłecki2016-05-131-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Broadcom ARM home routers store SPROM content in NVRAM just like MIPS ones. To share SPROM code we need to move it out of arch/mips/ to some common place. We already have bcm47xx_nvram in firmware path and SPROM should fit there as well. This driver is responsible for parsing SoC configuration data into a struct shared between ssb and bcma buses. This was tested with BCM4706 & BCM5357C0 (BCM47XX) and BCM4708A0 (ARCH_BCM_5301X). * MIPS: BCM47xx: Move NVRAM driver to the drivers/firmware/Rafał Miłecki2015-06-211-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | After Broadcom switched from MIPS to ARM for their home routers we need to have NVRAM driver in some common place (not arch/mips/). As explained in Kconfig, this driver is responsible for parsing SoC configuration data that is passed to the kernel in flash from the bootloader firmware called "CFE". We were thinking about putting it in bus directory, however there are two possible buses for MIPS: drivers/ssb/ and drivers/bcma/. So this won't fit there and this is why I would like to move this driver to the drivers/firmware/. * MIPS: BCM47XX: Drop WGT634U hacksRafał Miłecki2014-01-241-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | This old wgt634u.c was trying to implement a bit ugly support for Netgear WGT634U. It provided info about LED, flash mapping & layout and was trying to handle reset button. This is not needed anymore as we have replacement for all this stuff. * MIPS: BCM47XX: Prepare support for GPIO buttonsRafał Miłecki2014-01-241-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | So far this adds support for one Netgear model only, but it's designed and ready to add many more device. We could hopefully import database from OpenWrt. Support for SSB is currently disabled, because SSB doesn't implement IRQ domain yet. * MIPS: BCM47XX: Prepare support for LEDsRafał Miłecki2014-01-241-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | So far this is mostly just a proof of concept, database consists of a single device. Creating a nice iterateable array wasn't an option because devices have different amount of LEDs. And we don't want to waste memory just because of support for a device with dozens on LEDs. * MIPS: BCM47XX: Add board detectionHauke Mehrtens2013-10-291-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Detect on which board this code is running based on some nvram settings. This is needed to start board specific workarounds and configure the leds and buttons which are on different gpios on every board. This patches add some boards we have seen, but there are many more. * MIPS: BCM47XX: move and extend sprom parsingHauke Mehrtens2012-03-051-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | Move the sprom parsing from nvram into sprom.c. There are all values needed for sprom version 1 to 9 read from nvram and there are more sanity checks added. This is based on the sprom parsing in the open source part of the Broadcom SDK. Signed-off-by: Hauke Mehrtens <hauke@hauke-m.de> Signed-off-by: John W. Linville <linville@tuxdriver.com>

* MIPS: BCM47xx: Add NVRAM support devicesWaldemar Brodkorb2010-07-051-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | When trying to netboot a Linksys WRT54GS WLAN router, the bootup fails, because of following error message: ... [ 0.424000] b44: b44.c:v2.0 [ 0.424000] b44: Invalid MAC address found in EEPROM [ 0.432000] b44 ssb0:1: Problem fetching invariants of chip,aborting [ 0.436000] b44: probe of ssb0:1 failed with error -22 ... The router uses a CFE bootloader, but most of the needed environment variables for network card initialization, are not available from CFE via printenv and even though not via cfe_getenv(). The required environment variables are saved in a special partition in flash memory. The attached patch implement nvram_getenv and enables bootup via NFS root on my router. Most of the patch is extracted from the OpenWrt subversion repository and stripped down and cleaned up to just fix this issue. [Ralf: sorted out header file inclusions. Lots of unneded headers and such that should have been included.] Signed-off-by: Waldemar Brodkorb <wbx@openadk.org> Reviewed-by: Phil Sutter <phil@nwl.cc> To: linux-mips@linux-mips.org Cc: Hauke Mehrtens <hauke@hauke-m.de> Patchwork: http://patchwork.linux-mips.org/patch/1359/ Signed-off-by: Ralf Baechle <ralf@linux-mips.org>

Note that the BCM4710 does not support the wait instruction, this is not a mistake in the code. It originally comes from the OpenWrt patches.
