* MIPS: Kconfig: Set default MIPS system type as genericMatt Redfearn2017-11-081-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The generic MIPS system type allows building a board agnostic kernel and should be the default starting point for users, so set it as the default system type in Kconfig. Since ip22 is no longer the default, update ip22_defconfig to select CONFIG_SGI_IP22. * MIPS: Update defconfigs for NF_CT_PROTO_DCCP/UDPLITE changeArnd Bergmann2017-01-241-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | In linux-4.10-rc, NF_CT_PROTO_UDPLITE and NF_CT_PROTO_DCCP are bool symbols instead of tristate, and kernelci.org reports a bunch of warnings for this, like: arch/mips/configs/malta_kvm_guest_defconfig:63:warning: symbol value 'm' invalid for NF_CT_PROTO_UDPLITE arch/mips/configs/malta_defconfig:62:warning: symbol value 'm' invalid for NF_CT_PROTO_DCCP arch/mips/configs/malta_defconfig:63:warning: symbol value 'm' invalid for NF_CT_PROTO_UDPLITE arch/mips/configs/ip22_defconfig:70:warning: symbol value 'm' invalid for NF_CT_PROTO_DCCP arch/mips/configs/ip22_defconfig:71:warning: symbol value 'm' invalid for NF_CT_PROTO_UDPLITE This changes all the MIPS defconfigs with these symbols to have them built-in. * KEYS: CONFIG_KEYS_DEBUG_PROC_KEYS is no longer an optionDavid Howells2016-02-101-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | CONFIG_KEYS_DEBUG_PROC_KEYS is no longer an option as /proc/keys is now mandatory if the keyrings facility is enabled (it's used by libkeyutils in userspace). The defconfig references were removed with: perl -p -i -e 's/CONFIG_KEYS_DEBUG_PROC_KEYS=y\n//' \ `git grep -l CONFIG_KEYS_DEBUG_PROC_KEYS=y` and the integrity Kconfig fixed by hand. * tgt: defconfig cleanupBart Van Assche2014-07-171-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Because of the removal of the scsi_tgt kernel module, the kbuild variables CONFIG_SCSI_TGT, CONFIG_SCSI_SRP_TGT_ATTRS and CONFIG_SCSI_FC_TGT_ATTRS are obsolete. This patch removes these variables. * kconfig: rename CONFIG_EMBEDDED to CONFIG_EXPERTDavid Rientjes2011-01-201-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The meaning of CONFIG_EMBEDDED has long since been obsoleted; the option is used to configure any non-standard kernel with a much larger scope than only small devices. This patch renames the option to CONFIG_EXPERT in init/Kconfig and fixes references to the option throughout the kernel. A new CONFIG_EMBEDDED option is added that automatically selects CONFIG_EXPERT when enabled and can be used in the future to isolate options that should only be considered for embedded systems (RISC architectures, SLOB, etc). Calling the option "EXPERT" more accurately represents its intention: only expert users who understand the impact of the configuration changes they are making should enable it. * MIPS: Fix and enhance built-in kernel command lineDmitri Vorobiev2009-12-171-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Currently, MIPS kernels silently overwrite kernel command-line parameters hardcoded in CONFIG_CMDLINE by the ones received from firmware. Therefore, using firmware remains the only reliable method to transfer the command-line parameters, which is not always desirable or convenient, and the CONFIG_CMDLINE option is thereby effectively rendered useless. This patch fixes the problem described above and introduces a more flexible scheme of handling the kernel command line, in a manner identical to what is currently used for x86. The default behavior, i.e. when CONFIG_CMDLINE_BOOL is not defined, retains the existing semantics, and firmware command-line arguments override the hardcoded ones. * [MIPS] Add basic SMARTMIPS ASE supportFranck Bui-Huu2007-02-221-1/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch adds trivial support for SMARTMIPS extension. This extension is currently implemented by 4KS[CD] CPUs. Basically it saves/restores ACX register, which is part of the SMARTMIPS ASE, when needed. This patch does *not* add any support for Smartmips MMU features. Futhermore this patch does not add explicit support for 4KS[CD] CPUs since they are respectively mips32 and mips32r2 compliant. So with the current processor configuration, a platform that has such CPUs needs to select both configs: CPU_HAS_SMARTMIPS SYS_HAS_CPU_MIPS32_R[12] This is due to the processor configuration which is mixing up all the architecture variants and the processor types. The drawback of this, is that we currently pass '-march=mips32' option to gcc when building a kernel instead of '-march=4ksc' for 4KSC case. This can lead to a kernel image a little bit bigger than required. Signed-off-by: Franck Bui-Huu <fbuihuu@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Ralf Baechle <ralf@linux-mips.org>

Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
