APM_DO_POP_SEGS does not restore fs/gs which were zeroed by
APM_DO_ZERO_SEGS. Trying to access __preempt_count with
zeroed fs doesn't really work.
Move the ibrs call outside the APM_DO_SAVE_SEGS/APM_DO_RESTORE_SEGS
invocations so that fs is actually restored before calling
preempt_enable().

This is the mindless scripted replacement of kernel use of POLL*
variables as described by Al, done by this script:
for V in IN OUT PRI ERR RDNORM RDBAND WRNORM WRBAND HUP RDHUP NVAL MSG; do
L=`git grep -l -w POLL$V | grep -v '^t' | grep -v /um/ | grep -v '^sa' | grep -v '/poll.h$'|grep -v '^D'`
for f in $L; do sed -i "-es/^\([^\"]*\)\(\<POLL$V\>\)/\\1E\\2/" $f; done
done
with de-mangling cleanups yet to come.
NOTE! On almost all architectures, the EPOLL* constants have the same
values as the POLL* constants do. But they keyword here is "almost".
For various bad reasons they aren't the same, and epoll() doesn't
actually work quite correctly in some cases due to this on Sparc et al.
The next patch from Al will sort out the final differences, and we
should be all done.

"These are mostly fixes and cleanups and removal of the no longer
needed at32ap-cpufreq driver.
Specifics:
- Drop the at32ap-cpufreq driver which is useless after the removal
of the corresponding arch (Corentin LABBE).
- Fix a regression from the 4.14 cycle in the APM idle driver by
making it initialize the polling state properly (Rafael Wysocki).
- Fix a crash on failing system suspend due to a missing check in the
cpufreq core (Bo Yan).
- Make the intel_pstate driver initialize the hardware-managed
P-state control (HWP) feature on CPU0 upon resume from system
suspend if HWP had been enabled before the system was suspended
(Chen Yu).
- Fix up the SCPI cpufreq driver after recent changes (Sudeep Holla,
Wei Yongjun).
- Avoid pointer subtractions during frequency table walks in cpufreq
(Dominik Brodowski).
- Avoid the check for ProcFeedback in ST/CZ in the cpufreq driver for
AMD processors and add a MODULE_ALIAS for cpufreq on ARM IMX (Akshu
Agrawal, Nicolas Chauvet).
- Fix the prototype of swsusp_arch_resume() on x86 (Arnd Bergmann).

Each processor holds a GDT in its per-cpu structure. The sgdt
instruction gives the base address of the current GDT. This address can
be used to bypass KASLR memory randomization. With another bug, an
attacker could target other per-cpu structures or deduce the base of
the main memory section (PAGE_OFFSET).
This patch relocates the GDT table for each processor inside the
fixmap section. The space is reserved based on number of supported
processors.
For consistency, the remapping is done by default on 32 and 64-bit.
Each processor switches to its remapped GDT at the end of
initialization. For hibernation, the main processor returns with the
original GDT and switches back to the remapping at completion.
This patch was tested on both architectures. Hibernation and KVM were
both tested specially for their usage of the GDT.

cputime
This API returns a task's cputime in cputime_t in order to ease the
conversion of cputime internals to use nsecs units instead. Blindly
converting all cputime readers to use this API now will later let us
convert more smoothly and step by step all these places to use the
new nsec based cputime.

apm_bios_call() can fail, and return a status in its argument structure.
If that status however is zero during a call from
apm_get_power_status(), we end up using data that may have never been
set, as reported by "gcc -Wmaybe-uninitialized":
arch/x86/kernel/apm_32.c: In function ‘apm’:
arch/x86/kernel/apm_32.c:1729:17: error: ‘bx’ may be used uninitialized in this function [-Werror=maybe-uninitialized]

arch/x86/kernel/apm_32.c:1731:17: note: ‘dx’ was declared here
This changes the function to return "APM_NO_ERROR" here, which makes the
code more robust to broken BIOS versions, and avoids the warning.

Now since fetch_task_cputime() has no other users than task_cputime(),
its code could be used directly in task_cputime().
Moreover since only 2 task_cputime() calls of 17 use a NULL argument,
we can add dummy variables to those calls and remove NULL checks from
task_cputimes().
Also remove NULL checks from task_cputimes_scaled().

There is already a check for apm_info.bios == 0, the
apm_info.bios is set from the boot_params.apm_bios_info.
Both Xen and lguest, which are also the only ones that set
paravirt_enabled to true, never set the apm_bios.info. The
Xen folks are sure force disable to 0 is not needed because
apm_info lives in .bss, we recently forced disabled this on
lguest, and on the Xen side just to be sure Boris zeroed out
the .bss for PV guests through commit 04b6b4a56884327c1648
("xen/x86: Zero out .bss for PV guests"). With this care taken
into consideration the paravirt_enabled() check is simply not
needed anymore.

The only place where the time is invalid is when the ACPI_CSTATE_FFH entry
method is not set. Otherwise for all the drivers, the time can be correctly
measured.
Instead of duplicating the CPUIDLE_FLAG_TIME_VALID flag in all the drivers
for all the states, just invert the logic by replacing it by the flag
CPUIDLE_FLAG_TIME_INVALID, hence we can set this flag only for the acpi idle
driver, remove the former flag from all the drivers and invert the logic with
this flag in the different governor.

Standardize the idle polling indicator to TIF_POLLING_NRFLAG such that
both TIF_NEED_RESCHED and TIF_POLLING_NRFLAG are in the same word.
This will allow us, using fetch_or(), to both set NEED_RESCHED and
check for POLLING_NRFLAG in a single operation and avoid pointless
wakeups.
Changing from the non-atomic thread_info::status flags to the atomic
thread_info::flags shouldn't be a big issue since most polling state
changes were followed/preceded by a full memory barrier anyway.
Also, fix up the apm_32 idle function, clearly that was forgotten in
the last conversion. The default idle state is !POLLING so just kill
the lot.

This is in preparation for the full dynticks feature. While
remotely reading the cputime of a task running in a full

way we can account the time it spent tickless in userspace

The current device suspend/resume phases during system-wide power
transitions appear to be insufficient for some platforms that want
to use the same callback routines for saving device states and
related operations during runtime suspend/resume as well as during
system suspend/resume. In principle, they could point their
.suspend_noirq() and .resume_noirq() to the same callback routines
as their .runtime_suspend() and .runtime_resume(), respectively,
but at least some of them require device interrupts to be enabled
while the code in those routines is running.
It also makes sense to have device suspend-resume callbacks that will
be executed with runtime PM disabled and with device interrupts
enabled in case someone needs to run some special code in that
context during system-wide power transitions.
Apart from this, .suspend_noirq() and .resume_noirq() were introduced
as a workaround for drivers using shared interrupts and failing to
prevent their interrupt handlers from accessing suspended hardware.
It appears to be better not to use them for other porposes, or we may
have to deal with some serious confusion (which seems to be happening
already).
For the above reasons, introduce new device suspend/resume phases,
"late suspend" and "early resume" (and analogously for hibernation)
whose callback will be executed with runtime PM disabled and with
device interrupts enabled and whose callback pointers generally may
point to runtime suspend/resume routines.

We don't want to export the pm_idle function pointer to modules.
Currently CONFIG_APM_CPU_IDLE w/ CONFIG_APM_MODULE forces us to.
CONFIG_APM_CPU_IDLE is of dubious value, it runs only on 32-bit
uniprocessor laptops that are over 10 years old. It calls into
the BIOS during idle, and is known to cause a number of machines
to fail.
Removing CONFIG_APM_CPU_IDLE and will allow us to stop exporting
pm_idle. Any systems that were calling into the APM BIOS
at run-time will simply use HLT instead.

Since suspend, resume and shutdown operations in struct sysdev_class
and struct sysdev_driver are not used any more, remove them. Also
drop sysdev_suspend(), sysdev_resume() and sysdev_shutdown() used
for executing those operations and modify all of their users
accordingly. This reduces kernel code size quite a bit and reduces
its complexity.

Device suspend/resume infrastructure is used not only by the suspend
and hibernate code in kernel/power, but also by APM, Xen and the
kexec jump feature. However, commit 40dc166cb5dddbd36aa4ad11c03915ea
(PM / Core: Introduce struct syscore_ops for core subsystems PM)
failed to add syscore_suspend() and syscore_resume() calls to that
code, which generally leads to breakage when the features in question
are used.
To fix this problem, add the missing syscore_suspend() and
syscore_resume() calls to arch/x86/kernel/apm_32.c, kernel/kexec.c
and drivers/xen/manage.c.

The variable pm_flags is used to prevent APM from being enabled
along with ACPI, which would lead to problems. However, acpi_init()
is always called before apm_init() and after acpi_init() has
returned, it is known whether or not ACPI will be used. Namely, if
acpi_disabled is not set after acpi_init() has returned, this means
that ACPI is enabled. Thus, it is sufficient to check acpi_disabled
in apm_init() to prevent APM from being enabled in parallel with
ACPI.
