* ACPICA: Add support for region address conflict checkingLin Ming2012-01-171-0/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Allows drivers to determine if any memory or I/O addresses will conflict with addresses used by ACPI operation regions. Introduces a new interface, acpi_check_address_range. http://marc.info/?t=132251388700002&r=1&w=2 Reported-and-tested-by: Luca Tettamanti <kronos.it@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Lin Ming <ming.m.lin@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Bob Moore <robert.moore@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Len Brown <len.brown@intel.com>

* acpica: ACPI_MAX_SLEEP should be 2 sec, not 20Len Brown2011-08-291-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | This limit is a workaround for AML that sleeps too long, but the workaround didn't work b/c of a typo. https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13195 Signed-off-by: Len Brown <len.brown@intel.com> cc: stable@kernel.org # 2.6.35..3.0
* ACPICA: Move ACPI_NUM_PREDEFINED_REGIONS to a more appropriate placeBob Moore2011-05-091-1/+0
| | | | | | | | Moved to where the predefined regions are actually defined. Signed-off-by: Bob Moore <robert.moore@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Lin Ming <ming.m.lin@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Len Brown <len.brown@intel.com>
* ACPICA: Update internal address SpaceID for DataTable regionsBob Moore2011-05-091-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | Moved this internal space id in preparation for ACPI 5.0 changes that will include some new space IDs. Signed-off-by: Bob Moore <robert.moore@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Lin Ming <ming.m.lin@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Len Brown <len.brown@intel.com>

* ACPICA: Limit maximum time for Sleep() operatorBob Moore2010-06-121-0/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | To prevent accidental deep sleeps, limit the maximum time that Sleep() will sleep. Configurable, default maximum is two seconds. * ACPICA: Update all ACPICA copyrights and signons to 2010Bob Moore2010-01-221-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | Add 2010 copyright to all module headers and signons, including the Linux header. This affects virtually every file in the ACPICA core subsystem, iASL compiler, and all utilities. * ACPICA: avoid "Info: mapping multiple BARs. Your kernel is fine."Bob Moore2009-11-051-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Ensure that memory mappings created for operation regions do not cross page boundaries. Crossing a page boundary while mapping regions can cause warnings if the pages have different attributes. Such regions are probably BIOS bugs, and this is the workaround. http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14445 [Kernel summit hacking hour] Signed-off-by: Bob Moore <robert.moore@intel.com> Acked-by: Suresh Siddha <suresh.b.siddha@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Lin Ming <ming.m.lin@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Len Brown <len.brown@intel.com>

* ACPICA: Major update for acpi_get_object_info external interfaceBob Moore2009-08-271-0/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Completed a major update for the acpi_get_object_info external interface. Changes include: - Support for variable, unlimited length HID, UID, and CID strings - Support Processor objects the same as Devices (HID,UID,CID,ADR,STA, etc.) - Call the _SxW power methods on behalf of a device object - Determine if a device is a PCI root bridge - Change the ACPI_BUFFER parameter to ACPI_DEVICE_INFO. These changes will require an update to all callers of this interface. See the ACPICA Programmer Reference for details. Also, update all invocations of acpi_get_object_info interface Signed-off-by: Bob Moore <robert.moore@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Lin Ming <ming.m.lin@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Len Brown <len.brown@intel.com>
