* Bluetooth: Remove unused btuart_cs driverMarcel Holtmann2018-04-011-675/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | With patch 279c936153199 the btuart_cs driver has been deprecated in favor of serial_cs + hci_uart combination. static struct pcmcia_device_id btuart_ids[] = { /* don't use this driver. Use serial_cs + hci_uart instead */ PCMCIA_DEVICE_NULL }; Intead of keeping it around, just remove it since it is not even assigned to any PCMCIA identifiers anymore. * networking: add and use skb_put_u8()Johannes Berg2017-06-161-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Joe and Bjørn suggested that it'd be nicer to not have the cast in the fairly common case of doing *(u8 *)skb_put(skb, 1) = c; Add skb_put_u8() for this case, and use it across the code, using the following spatch: @@ expression SKB, C, S; typedef u8; identifier fn = {skb_put}; fresh identifier fn2 = fn ## "_u8"; @@ - *(u8 *)fn(SKB, S) = C; + fn2(SKB, C); Note that due to the "S", the spatch isn't perfect, it should have checked that S is 1, but there's also places that use a sizeof expression like sizeof(var) or sizeof(u8) etc. Turns out that nobody ever did something like *(u8 *)skb_put(skb, 2) = c; which would be wrong anyway since the second byte wouldn't be initialized. * networking: make skb_put & friends return void pointersJohannes Berg2017-06-161-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | It seems like a historic accident that these return unsigned char *, and in many places that means casts are required, more often than not. Make these functions (skb_put, __skb_put and pskb_put) return void * and remove all the casts across the tree, adding a (u8 *) cast only where the unsigned char pointer was used directly, all done with the following spatch: @@ expression SKB, LEN; typedef u8; identifier fn = { skb_put, __skb_put }; @@ - *(fn(SKB, LEN)) + *(u8 *)fn(SKB, LEN) @@ expression E, SKB, LEN; identifier fn = { skb_put, __skb_put }; type T; @@ - E = ((T *)(fn(SKB, LEN))) + E = fn(SKB, LEN) which actually doesn't cover pskb_put since there are only three users overall. A handful of stragglers were converted manually, notably a macro in drivers/isdn/i4l/isdn_bsdcomp.c and, oddly enough, one of the many instances in net/bluetooth/hci_sock.c. In the former file, I also had to fix one whitespace problem spatch introduced. Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes.berg@intel.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* Bluetooth: Use new hci_skb_pkt_* wrappers for driversMarcel Holtmann2015-11-191-5/+6
| | | | | | | | | The new hci_skb_pkt_* wrappers are mainly intented for drivers to require less knowledge about bt_cb(sbk) handling. So after converting the core packet handling, convert all drivers. Signed-off-by: Marcel Holtmann <marcel@holtmann.org> Signed-off-by: Johan Hedberg <johan.hedberg@intel.com>
* Bluetooth: Move handling of HCI_RUNNING flag into coreMarcel Holtmann2015-10-051-6/+0
| | | | | | | | | | Setting and clearing of HCI_RUNNING flag in each and every driver is just duplicating the same code all over the place. So instead of having the driver do it in their hdev->open and hdev->close callbacks, set it globally in the core transport handling. * Bluetooth: Remove typedef btuart_info_tHimangi Saraogi2014-08-141-13/+14
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The Linux kernel coding style guidelines suggest not using typedefs for structure types. This patch gets rid of the typedef for btuart_info_t. Also, the name of the struct is changed to drop the _t, to make the name look less typedef-like. The following Coccinelle semantic patch detects the case: @tn@ identifier i; type td; @@ -typedef struct i { ... } -td ; @@ type tn.td; identifier tn.i; @@ -td + struct i Signed-off-by: Himangi Saraogi <himangi774@gmail.com> Acked-by: Julia Lawall <julia.lawall@lip6.fr> Signed-off-by: Marcel Holtmann <marcel@holtmann.org>

* Bluetooth: Remove pointless parameter check in btuart_hci_send_frame()Marcel Holtmann2013-10-111-8/+1
| | | | | | | | The hdev parameter of btuart_hci_send_frame() is always valid. If it were not valid, then it would have crashed earlier in the call chain. Signed-off-by: Marcel Holtmann <marcel@holtmann.org> Signed-off-by: Johan Hedberg <johan.hedberg@intel.com>
* Bluetooth: Add hdev parameter to hdev->send driver callbackMarcel Holtmann2013-10-111-2/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Instead of masking hdev inside the skb->dev parameter, hand it directly to the driver as a parameter to hdev->send. This makes the driver interface more clear and simpler. This patch fixes all drivers to accept and handle the new parameter of hdev->send callback. Special care has been taken for bpa10x and btusb drivers that require having skb->dev set to hdev for the URB transmit complete handlers. * Bluetooth: Provide hdev parameter to hci_recv_frame() driver callbackMarcel Holtmann2013-10-111-2/+1
| | | | | | | | | | To avoid casting skb->dev into hdev, just let the drivers provide the hdev directly when calling hci_recv_frame() function. * Bluetooth: Remove HCI-owner fieldDavid Herrmann2012-02-131-2/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | After unregistering an hci_dev object a bluetooth driver does not have any callbacks in the hci_dev structure left over. Therefore, there is no need to keep a reference to the module. Previously, we needed this to protect the hci-destruct callback. However, this callback is no longer available so we do not need this owner field, anymore. Drivers now call hci_unregister_dev() and they are done with the object. * Bluetooth: Ignore hci_unregister_dev return valueDavid Herrmann2011-11-071-3/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | Make all bluetooth drivers ignore the return value of hci_unregister_dev as it always returns 0. In the next step, hci_unregister_dev can be modified to return void. * pcmcia: simplify IntTypeDominik Brodowski2010-09-291-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | IntType was only set to INT_MEMORY (driver pcmciamtd) or INT_MEMORY_AND_IO (all other drivers). As this flags seems to relate to ioport access, make it conditional to the driver having requested IO port access. There are two drivers which do not request IO ports, but did set INT_MEMORY_AND_IO: ray_cs and b43. For those, we consistently only set INT_MEMORY in future. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Instead of the old pcmcia_request_irq() interface, drivers may now choose between: - calling request_irq/free_irq directly. Use the IRQ from *p_dev->irq. - use pcmcia_request_irq(p_dev, handler_t); the PCMCIA core will clean up automatically on calls to pcmcia_disable_device() or device ejection. - drivers still not capable of IRQF_SHARED (or not telling us so) may use the deprecated pcmcia_request_exclusive_irq() for the time being; they might receive a shared IRQ nonetheless. * pcmcia: rework the irq_req_t typedefDominik Brodowski2009-11-281-3/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Most of the irq_req_t typedef'd struct can be re-worked quite easily: (1) IRQInfo2 was unused in any case, so drop it. (2) IRQInfo1 was used write-only, so drop it. (3) Instance (private data to be passed to the IRQ handler): Most PCMCIA drivers using pcmcia_request_irq() to actually register an IRQ handler set the "dev_id" to the same pointer as the "priv" pointer in struct pcmcia_device. Modify the two exceptions (ipwireless, ibmtr_cs) to also work this waym and set the IRQ handler's "dev_id" to p_dev->priv unconditionally. (4) Handler is to be of type irq_handler_t. (5) Handler != NULL already tells whether an IRQ handler is present. Therefore, we do not need the IRQ_HANDLER_PRESENT flag in irq_req_t.Attributes. | | | | | | | Many drivers use the default CIS entry within their pcmcia_config_loop() callback function. Therefore, factor the default CIS entry handling out. Signed-off-by: Dominik Brodowski <linux@dominikbrodowski.net>
* pcmcia: pcmcia_config_loop() ConfigIndex unificationDominik Brodowski2008-08-231-2/+0
| | | | | | | Almost all drivers set p_dev->conf.ConfigIndex to cfg->index in the pcmcia_config_loop() callback function. Therefore, factor it out. Signed-off-by: Dominik Brodowski <linux@dominikbrodowski.net>

* pcmcia: replace kio_addr_t with unsigned int everywhereOlof Johansson2008-02-051-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Remove kio_addr_t, and replace it with unsigned int. No known architecture needs more than 32 bits for IO addresses and ports and having a separate type for it is just messy. * [Bluetooth] Eliminate checks for impossible conditions in IRQ handlerJeff Garzik2007-10-221-4/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | Our info structure and info->hdev is always passed to the IRQ handler, so we don't have to worry about these checks in every interrupt. Leave a BUG_ON() just to help unwary programmers, but these could probably be removed as well. Signed-off-by: Jeff Garzik <jgarzik@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Marcel Holtmann <marcel@holtmann.org>
