| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Device-managed resources allocated post component bind must be tied to the lifetime of the aggregate DRM device or they will not necessarily be released when binding of the aggregate device is deferred. This is specifically true for the HDMI IRQ, which will otherwise remain requested so that the next bind attempt fails when requesting the IRQ a second time. Fix this by tying the device-managed lifetime of the HDMI IRQ to the DRM device so that it is released when bind fails. As we are preparing to convert the MSM8996 to use DT clocks properties (rather than global clock names), register the OF clock provider. While we are at it, also change the driver to use clk_parent_data rather parent_names to setup a link to the XO clock. Currently these regulators contain the hpd_gdsc, which was replaced by the power-domains support and hpd-5v/hpd-5v-en, which are not used by the chip itself. They power up the ESD bridge. However it is a separate device which should be represented separately in the device tree. None of upstreamed devices support these properties. Thus drop support for them from the HDMI driver. Neither of these APIs can be called from no-thread interrupt handlers on PREEMPT_RT systems. Fix this by removing IRQF_ONESHOT. Since it is not right to allocate the drm_device at probe time (as it should exist only when all components are bound, and taken down when components get cleaned up), the only way to make this happen is to pass a pointer to msm_drm_private as driver data (like done in many other DRM drivers), instead of one to drm_device like it's currently done in this driver. This is also simplifying some bind/unbind functions around drm/msm, as some of them are using drm_device just to grab a pointer to the msm_drm_private structure, which we now retrieve in one call. This model is historical and has worked pretty well so far, but causes several issues: - It prevents supporting more complex display pipelines where DRM connector operations are split over multiple components. For instance a pipeline with a bridge connected to the DDC signals to read EDID data, and another one connected to the HPD signal to detect connection and disconnection, will not be possible to support through this model. - It requires every bridge driver to implement similar connector handling code, resulting in code duplication. - It assumes that a bridge will either be wired to a connector or to another bridge, but doesn't support bridges that can be used in both positions very well (although there is some ad-hoc support for this in the analogix_dp bridge driver). In order to solve these issues, ownership of the connector should be moved to the display controller driver (where it can be implemented using helpers provided by the core). Extend the bridge API to allow disabling connector creation in bridge drivers as a first step towards the new model. The new flags argument to the bridge .attach() operation allows instructing the bridge driver to skip creating a connector. Unconditionally set the new flags argument to 0 for now to keep the existing behaviour, and modify all existing bridge drivers to return an error when connector creation is not requested as they don't support this feature yet.
