* i2c: Make remove callback return voidUwe Kleine-König2022-08-161-2/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The value returned by an i2c driver's remove function is mostly ignored. (Only an error message is printed if the value is non-zero that the error is ignored.) So change the prototype of the remove function to return no value. This way driver authors are not tempted to assume that passing an error to the upper layer is a good idea. All drivers are adapted accordingly. There is no intended change of behaviour, all callbacks were prepared to return 0 before. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Rationale: Reduces attack surface on kernel devs opening the links for MITM as HTTPS traffic is much harder to manipulate. Deterministic algorithm: For each file: If not .svg: For each line: If doesn't contain `\bxmlns\b`: If neither `\bgnu\.org/license`, nor `\bmozilla\.org/MPL\b`: If both the HTTP and HTTPS versions return 200 OK and serve the same content: Replace HTTP with HTTPS. * media: si2165: fix a missing check of return valueKangjie Lu2019-03-191-3/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | si2165_readreg8() may fail. Looking into si2165_readreg8(), we will find that "val_tmp" will be an uninitialized value when regmap_read() fails. "val_tmp" is then assigned to "val". So if si2165_readreg8() fails, "val" will be a random value. Further use will lead to undefined behaviors. The fix checks if si2165_readreg8() fails, and if so, returns its error code upstream. * media: dvb: represent min/max/step/tolerance freqs in HzMauro Carvalho Chehab2018-08-021-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Right now, satellite frontend drivers specify frequencies in kHz, while terrestrial/cable ones specify in Hz. That's confusing for developers. However, the main problem is that universal frontends capable of handling both satellite and non-satelite delivery systems are appearing. We end by needing to hack the drivers in order to support such hybrid frontends. So, convert everything to specify frontend frequencies in Hz. * [media] si2165: avoid division by zeroMatthias Schwarzott2016-09-221-0/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | When si2165_init fails, the clk values in state are still at zero. But the dvb-core ignores the return value of init will call tune afterwards. This will trigger a division by zero when tuning. At least check for the variables to be non-zero before dividing. This happened for a system with WinTV HVR-4400 PCIe-card after suspend-to-disk. Do suspend-to-disk without accessing the DVB device before. After wakeup try to tune. si2165_init fails at checking the chip_mode and aborts. Then si2165_set_if_freq_shift will fail with div-by-zero.
