* mtd: nand: move raw NAND related code to the raw/ subdirBoris Brezillon2018-02-161-144/+0

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | We are planning to share more code between different NAND based devices (SPI NAND, OneNAND and raw NANDs), but before doing that we need to move the existing include/linux/mtd/nand.h file into include/linux/mtd/rawnand.h so we can later create a nand.h header containing all common structure and function prototypes. * mtd: nand: remove unused and buggy get_platform_nandchip() helper functionBoris BREZILLON2015-12-181-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Nobody uses the get_platform_nandchip() helper function which is supposed to return a pointer to a platform_nand_chip struct from an mtd_info pointer. Moreover, this function is buggy since the introduction of the plat_nand layer (chip->priv is now storing a pointer to an intermediate plat_nand_data structure allocated in plat_nand_probe(), and we have no way to retrieve a pointer to the provided platform_nand_chip struct from this plat_nand_data pointer). While we are at it, remove the useless (and buggy, since it's pointing to something stored on the stack) data->chip.priv assignment. * mtd: nand: drop unnecessary partition parser dataBrian Norris2015-11-111-3/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | All of these drivers set up a parser data struct just to communicate DT partition data. This field has been deprecated and is instead supported by telling nand_scan_ident() about the 'flash_node'. This patch: * sets chip->flash_node for those drivers that didn't already (but used OF partitioning) * drops the parser data * switches to the simpler mtd_device_register() where possible, now that we've eliminated one of the auxiliary parameters Now that we've assigned chip->flash_node for these drivers, we can probably rely on nand_dt_init() to do more of the DT parsing for us, but for now, I don't want to fiddle with each of these drivers. The parsing is done in duplicate for now on some drivers. I don't think this should break things. (Famous last words.) * mtd: nand: consolidate redundant flash-based BBT flagsBrian Norris2011-09-111-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch works with the following three flags from two headers (nand.h and bbm.h): (1) NAND_USE_FLASH_BBT (nand.h) (2) NAND_USE_FLASH_BBT_NO_OOB (nand.h) (3) NAND_BBT_NO_OOB (bbm.h) These flags are all related and interdependent, yet they were in different headers. Flag (2) is simply the combination of (1) and (3) and can be eliminated. This patch accomplishes the following: * eliminate NAND_USE_FLASH_BBT_NO_OOB (i.e., flag (2)) * move NAND_USE_FLASH_BBT (i.e., flag (1)) to bbm.h It's important to note that because (1) and (3) are now both found in bbm.h, they should NOT be used in the "nand_chip.options" field. I removed a small section from the mtdnand DocBook because it referes to NAND_USE_FLASH_BBT in nand.h, which has been moved to bbm.h. * [MTD] [NAND] move gen_nand's probe function to .devinit.textUwe Kleine-König2009-04-031-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | A pointer to plat_nand_probe is passed to the core via platform_driver_register and so the function must not disappear when the .init sections are discarded. Otherwise (if also having HOTPLUG=y) unbinding and binding a device to the driver via sysfs will result in an oops as does a device being registered late. An alternative to this patch is using platform_driver_probe instead of platform_driver_register plus removing the pointer to the probe function from the struct platform_driver.
