* | scsi: Expand all create*_workqueue() invocationsBart Van Assche2024-08-221-1/+2
|/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The workqueue maintainer wants to remove the create*_workqueue() macros because these macros always set the WQ_MEM_RECLAIM flag and because these only support literal workqueue names. Hence this patch that replaces the create*_workqueue() invocations with the definition of this macro. The WQ_MEM_RECLAIM flag has been retained because I think that flag is necessary for workqueues created by storage drivers. This patch has been generated by running spatch and git clang-format. spatch has been invoked as follows: spatch --in-place --sp-file expand-create-workqueue.spatch $(git grep -lEw 'create_(freezable_|singlethread_|)workqueue' */scsi */ufs) The contents of the expand-create-workqueue.spatch file is as follows: @@ expression name; @@ -create_workqueue(name) +alloc_workqueue("%s", WQ_MEM_RECLAIM, 1, name) @@ expression name; @@ -create_freezable_workqueue(name) +alloc_workqueue("%s", WQ_FREEZABLE | WQ_UNBOUND | WQ_MEM_RECLAIM, 1, name) @@ expression name; @@ -create_singlethread_workqueue(name) +alloc_ordered_workqueue("%s", WQ_MEM_RECLAIM, name) Reviewed-by: Peter Wang <peter.wang@mediatek.com> Signed-off-by: Bart Van Assche <bvanassche@acm.org> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20240822195944.654691-2-bvanassche@acm.org Signed-off-by: Martin K. * | scsi: bfa: Ensure the copied buf is NUL terminatedBui Quang Minh2024-05-061-2/+2
|/ | | | | | | | | | | | | Currently, we allocate a nbytes-sized kernel buffer and copy nbytes from userspace to that buffer. Later, we use sscanf on this buffer but we don't ensure that the string is terminated inside the buffer, this can lead to OOB read when using sscanf. Fix this issue by using memdup_user_nul instead of memdup_user. * scsi: bfa: Fix function pointer type mismatch for state machinesArnd Bergmann2024-02-2613-435/+582
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The bfa driver is full of state machines and a generic abstraction layer for them. This relies on casting function pointers, but that is no longer allowed when CONFIG_CFI_CLANG is enabled and causes a huge number of warnings like: drivers/scsi/bfa/bfad.c:169:3: error: cast from 'void (*)(struct bfad_s *, enum bfad_sm_event)' to 'bfa_sm_t' (aka 'void (*)(void *, int)') converts to incompatible function type [-Werror,-Wcast-function-type-strict] bfa_sm_set_state(bfad, bfad_sm_created); ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Rework the mechanism to no longer require the function pointer casts, by having separate types for each individual state machine. This in turn requires moving the enum definitions for each state machine into the header files in order to define the typedef. * scsi: bfa: Fix function pointer type mismatch for hcb_qe->cbfnArnd Bergmann2024-02-264-13/+19
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Some callback functions used here take a boolean argument, others take a status argument. This breaks KCFI type checking, so clang now warns about the function pointer cast: drivers/scsi/bfa/bfad_bsg.c:2138:29: error: cast from 'void (*)(void *, enum bfa_status)' to 'bfa_cb_cbfn_t' (aka 'void (*)(void *, enum bfa_boolean)') converts to incompatible function type [-Werror,-Wcast-function-type-strict] Assuming the code is actually correct here and the callers always match the argument types of the callee, rework this to replace the explicit cast with a union of the two pointer types. This does not change the behavior of the code, so if something is actually broken here, a larger rework may be necessary. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | strlcpy() reads the entire source buffer first. This read may exceed the destination size limit. This is both inefficient and can lead to linear read overflows if a source string is not NUL-terminated [1]. In an effort to remove strlcpy() completely [2], replace strlcpy() here with strscpy(). * scsi: bfa: Drop redundant pci_enable_pcie_error_reporting()Bjorn Helgaas2023-03-092-7/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | pci_enable_pcie_error_reporting() enables the device to send ERR_* Messages. Since commit f26e58bf6f54 ("PCI/AER: Enable error reporting when AER is native"), the PCI core does this for all devices during enumeration, so the driver doesn't need to do it itself. Remove the redundant pci_enable_pcie_error_reporting() call from the driver. Also remove the corresponding pci_disable_pcie_error_reporting() from the driver .remove() path. Note that this only controls ERR_* Messages from the device. An ERR_* Message may cause the Root Port to generate an interrupt, depending on the AER Root Error Command register managed by the AER service driver.
