* fs: Remove ext3 filesystem driverJan Kara2015-07-231-54/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | The functionality of ext3 is fully supported by ext4 driver. Major distributions (SUSE, RedHat) already use ext4 driver to handle ext3 filesystems for quite some time. There is some ugliness in mm resulting from jbd cleaning buffers in a dirty page without cleaning page dirty bit and also support for buffer bouncing in the block layer when stable pages are required is there only because of jbd. So let's remove the ext3 driver. This saves us some 28k lines of duplicated code. Acked-by: Theodore Ts'o <tytso@mit.edu> Signed-off-by: Jan Kara <jack@suse.cz>

* ext2/3/4: delete unneeded includes of module.hPaul Gortmaker2012-01-091-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | Delete any instances of include module.h that were not strictly required. In the case of ext2, the declaration of MODULE_LICENSE etc. were in inode.c but the module_init/exit were in super.c, so relocate the MODULE_LICENCE/AUTHOR block to super.c which makes it consistent with ext3 and ext4 at the same time. * sanitize xattr handler prototypesChristoph Hellwig2009-12-161-9/+9
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Add a flags argument to struct xattr_handler and pass it to all xattr handler methods. This allows using the same methods for multiple handlers, e.g. for the ACL methods which perform exactly the same action for the access and default ACLs, just using a different underlying attribute. With a little more groundwork it'll also allow sharing the methods for the regular user/trusted/secure handlers in extN, ocfs2 and jffs2 like it's already done for xfs in this patch. Also change the inode argument to the handlers to a dentry to allow using the handlers mechnism for filesystems that require it later, e.g. cifs. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
