* ocfs2/dlm: dlm_thread should not sleep while holding the dlm_spinlockSunil Mushran2008-03-101-2/+4
| | | | | | | | | This patch addresses the bug in which the dlm_thread could go to sleep while holding the dlm_spinlock. Signed-off-by: Sunil Mushran <sunil.mushran@oracle.com> Signed-off-by: Joel Becker <joel.becker@oracle.com> Signed-off-by: Mark Fasheh <mark.fasheh@oracle.com>
* [PATCH] ocfs2: use __set_current_state()Milind Arun Choudhary2007-05-021-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | use __set_current_state(TASK_*) instead of current->state = TASK_*, in fs/ocfs2 Signed-off-by: Milind Arun Choudhary <milindchoudhary@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@linux-foundation.org> Signed-off-by: Mark Fasheh <mark.fasheh@oracle.com>
* ocfs2_dlm: Fix lockres ref counting bugSunil Mushran2007-03-261-8/+2
| | | | | | | | | During umount, the umount thread migrates the lockres' and the dlm_thread frees the empty lockres'. Due to a race, the reference counting on the lockres goes awry leading to extra puts. Signed-off-by: Sunil Mushran <sunil.mushran@oracle.com> Signed-off-by: Mark Fasheh <mark.fasheh@oracle.com>
* ocfs2_dlm: Missing get/put lockres in dlm_run_purge_lockresSunil Mushran2007-03-141-0/+2
| | | | | | | In some circumstances, this was causing us to reference freed memory. Signed-off-by: Sunil Mushran <sunil.mushran@oracle.com> Signed-off-by: Mark Fasheh <mark.fasheh@oracle.com>
* ocfs2_dlm: Calling post handler function in assert master handlerKurt Hackel2007-02-071-0/+4
| | | | | | | | | | This patch prevents the dlm from sending the clear refmap message before the set refmap. We use the newly created post function handler routine to accomplish the task. * ocfs2_dlm: Fixes race between migrate and dirtyKurt Hackel2007-02-071-13/+17
| | | | | | | | | | | dlmthread was removing lockres' from the dirty list and resetting the dirty flag before shuffling the list. This patch retains the dirty state flag until the lists are shuffled. * [PATCH] fs/ocfs2/dlm/: make functions staticAdrian Bunk2007-02-071-1/+2
| | | | | | | This patch makes some needlessly global functions static. Signed-off-by: Adrian Bunk <bunk@stusta.de> Signed-off-by: Mark Fasheh <mark.fasheh@oracle.com>
* ocfs2_dlm: fix cluster-wide refcounting of lock resourcesKurt Hackel2007-02-071-90/+77
| | | | | | | | | | | This was previously broken and migration of some locks had to be temporarily disabled. We use a new (and backward-incompatible) set of network messages to account for all references to a lock resources held across the cluster. once these are all freed, the master node may then free the lock resource memory once its local references are dropped. * ocfs2: use cond_resched() in dlm_thread()Kurt Hackel2006-06-261-1/+1
| | | | | | | yield() does not yield. cond_resched() does. Signed-off-by: Kurt Hackel <kurt.hackel@oracle.com> Signed-off-by: Mark Fasheh <mark.fasheh@oracle.com>
* ocfs2: temporarily disable automatic lock migrationKurt Hackel2006-06-261-0/+14
| | | | | | | | | Now we never change the owner of a lock resource until unmount or node death. This will be re-enabled once some issues in the algorithm used have been resolved. Signed-off-by: Kurt Hackel <kurt.hackel@oracle.com> Signed-off-by: Mark Fasheh <mark.fasheh@oracle.com>
* ocfs2: give the dlm dirty list a reference on the lockresKurt Hackel2006-06-261-0/+6

* ocfs2: purge lockres' soonerKurt Hackel2006-06-261-2/+35
| | | | | | | Immediately purge a lockress that the local node is not the master of. Signed-off-by: Kurt Hackel <kurt.hackel@oracle.com> Signed-off-by: Mark Fasheh <mark.fasheh@oracle.com>
* ocfs2: dlm recovery / lockres reference count fixKurt Hackel2006-06-261-1/+1
| | | | | | | Take a reference on lockres structures while they are on the recovery list. Signed-off-by: Kurt Hackel <kurt.hackel@oracle.com> Signed-off-by: Mark Fasheh <mark.fasheh@oracle.com>
* ocfs2: add a small delay after a failed migrationKurt Hackel2006-06-261-2/+5
| | | | | | | Otherwise we risk starving other threads. Signed-off-by: Kurt Hackel <kurt.hackel@oracle.com> Signed-off-by: Mark Fasheh <mark.fasheh@oracle.com>
* [PATCH] fs: use list_move()Akinobu Mita2006-06-261-4/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch converts the combination of list_del(A) and list_add(A, B) to list_move(A, B) under fs/. * [PATCH] This patch contains the following cleanups:Adrian Bunk2006-01-031-3/+0
| | | | | | | | | - cluster/sys.c: make needlessly global code static - dlm/: "extern" declarations for variables belong into header files (and in this case, they are already in dlmdomain.h) Signed-off-by: Adrian Bunk <bunk@stusta.de> Signed-off-by: Mark Fasheh <mark.fasheh@oracle.com>
* [PATCH] OCFS2: The Second Oracle Cluster FilesystemKurt Hackel2006-01-031-0/+695
A distributed lock manager built with the cluster file system use case in mind. The OCFS2 dlm exposes a VMS style API, though things have been simplified internally. The only lock levels implemented currently are NLMODE, PRMODE and EXMODE. Signed-off-by: Mark Fasheh <mark.fasheh@oracle.com> Signed-off-by: Kurt Hackel <kurt.hackel@oracle.com>
