Each macro is split into smaller helpers, so that drivers with non-standard callbacks can pick and customize callbacks as needed. The regular PCI removal helper cannot detect the framebuffer, while the non-PCI helper misses possible conflicting VGA devices (i.e., a framebuffer or text console). Gma500 therefore calls both helpers to catch all cases. It's confusing as it implies that there's something about the PCI device that requires ownership management. The relationship between the PCI device and the VGA devices is non-obvious. At worst, readers might assume that calling two functions for clearing aperture ownership is a bug in the driver. Hence, move the PCI removal helper's code for VGA functionality into a separate function and call this function from gma500. Documents the purpose of each call to aperture helpers. The io_uring_cmd currently only saves the payload (cmd) part of the SQE, but, for commands that use normal SQE size, it might be necessary to access the initial SQE fields outside of the payload/cmd block. So, saves the whole SQE other than just the pdu. This changes slightly how the io_uring_cmd works, since the cmd structures and callbacks are not opaque to io_uring anymore. I.e, the callbacks can look at the SQE entries, not only, in the cmd structure. The main advantage is that we don't need to create custom structures for simple commands. Creates io_uring_sqe_cmd() that returns the cmd private data as a null pointer and avoids casting in the callee side. Also, make most of ublk_drv's sqe->cmd priv structure into const, and use io_uring_sqe_cmd() to get the private structure, removing the unwanted cast. The buffer_percent file is how users can state how long to block on the tracing buffer depending on how much is in the buffer. When it hits the "buffer_percent" it will wake the task waiting on the buffer. For some reason it was set to read-only. This was not noticed because testing was done as root without SELinux, but with SELinux it will prevent even root to write to it without having CAP_DAC_OVERRIDE. - The "touched_functions" was added this merge window, but one of the reasons for adding it was not implemented. That was to show what functions were not only touched, but had either a direct trampoline attached to it, or a kprobe or live kernel patching that can "hijack" the function to run a different function. The point is to know if there's functions in the kernel that may not be behaving as the kernel code shows. This can be used for debugging. Force reset state for TISEL and SMCR registers to match this requirement. Note that slave mode disabling is not a pre-requisite by itself for capture mode, as hardware supports it for PWM capture. However, the current implementation of the driver does not allow slave mode for PWM capture. Setting slave mode for PWM capture results in wrong capture values.
