* [SCSI] sd: disentangle barriers in SCSIJames Bottomley2007-08-041-2/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | Our current implementation has a generic set of barrier functions that go through the SCSI driver model. Realistically, this is unnecessary, because the only device that can use barriers (sd) can set the flush functions up at probe or revalidate time. This patch pulls the barrier functions out of the mid layer and scsi driver model and relocates them directly in sd. * [BLOCK] Get rid of request_queue_t typedefJens Axboe2007-07-241-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | Some of the code has been gradually transitioned to using the proper struct request_queue, but there's lots left. So do a full sweet of the kernel and get rid of this typedef and replace its uses with the proper type. Signed-off-by: Jens Axboe <jens.axboe@oracle.com>
* [SCSI] sd: implement START/STOP managementTejun Heo2007-03-201-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Implement SBC START/STOP management. sdev->mange_start_stop is added. When it's set to one, sd STOPs the device on suspend and shutdown and STARTs it on resume. sdev->manage_start_stop defaults is in sdev instead of scsi_disk cdev to allow ->slave_config() override the default configuration but is exported under scsi_disk sysfs node as sdev->allow_restart is. When manage_start_stop is zero (the default value), this patch doesn't introduce any behavior change. * [SCSI] sd: make printing use a common prefixMartin K. Petersen2007-03-111-0/+70
Make SCSI disk printing more consistent: - Define sd_printk(), sd_print_sense_hdr() and sd_print_result() - Move relevant header bits into sd.h - Remove all the legacy disk_name passing and use scsi_disk pointers where possible - Switch printk() lines to the new sd_ functions so that output is consistent Signed-off-by: Martin K.
