* rt_mutex: Add lockdep annotationsPeter Zijlstra2017-06-081-1/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Now that (PI) futexes have their own private RT-mutex interface and implementation we can easily add lockdep annotations to the existing RT-mutex interface. | * lockdep: Use "WARNING" tag on lockdep splatsPaul E. McKenney2017-04-191-4/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This commit changes lockdep splats to begin lines with "WARNING" and to use pr_warn() instead of printk(). This change eases scripted analysis of kernel console output. Reported-by: Dmitry Vyukov <dvyukov@google.com> Reported-by: Ingo Molnar <mingo@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Paul E. * sched/headers: Prepare for new header dependencies before moving code to ↵Ingo Molnar2017-03-021-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | <linux/sched/debug.h> We are going to split <linux/sched/debug.h> out of <linux/sched.h>, which will have to be picked up from other headers and a couple of .c files. Create a trivial placeholder <linux/sched/debug.h> file that just maps to <linux/sched.h> to make this patch obviously correct and bisectable. Include the new header in the files that are going to need it. * rtmutex: Cleanup deadlock detector debug logicThomas Gleixner2014-06-211-2/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The conditions under which deadlock detection is conducted are unclear and undocumented. Add constants instead of using 0/1 and provide a selection function which hides the additional debug dependency from the calling code. Add comments where needed. * rtmutex: Turn the plist into an rb-treePeter Zijlstra2014-01-131-6/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Turn the pi-chains from plist to rb-tree, in the rt_mutex code, and provide a proper comparison function for -deadline and -priority tasks. This is done mainly because: - classical prio field of the plist is just an int, which might not be enough for representing a deadline; - manipulating such a list would become O(nr_deadline_tasks), which might be to much, as the number of -deadline task increases. Therefore, an rb-tree is used, and tasks are queued in it according to the following logic: - among two -priority (i.e., SCHED_BATCH/OTHER/RR/FIFO) tasks, the one with the higher (lower, actually!) prio wins; - among a -priority and a -deadline task, the latter always wins; - among two -deadline tasks, the one with the earliest deadline wins. Queueing and dequeueing functions are changed accordingly, for both the list of a task's pi-waiters and the list of tasks blocked on a pi-lock.
