"Bluetooth: Fix auth_complete_evt for legacy units" which seems to be
working around a bug on a broken controller rather then any limitation
imposed by the Bluetooth spec, in fact if there ws not possible to
re-auth the command shall fail not succeed.

When we are slave role and receives l2cap conn req when encryption has
started, we should check the enc key size to avoid KNOB attack or BLUFFS
attack.
From SIG recommendation, implementations are advised to reject
service-level connections on an encrypted baseband link with key
strengths below 7 octets.
A simple and clear way to achieve this is to place the enc key size
check in hci_cc_read_enc_key_size()
The btmon log below shows the case that lacks enc key size check.

Turning on -Wstringop-overflow globally exposed a misleading compiler
warning in bluetooth:
net/bluetooth/hci_event.c: In function 'hci_cc_read_class_of_dev':
net/bluetooth/hci_event.c:524:9: error: 'memcpy' writing 3 bytes into a
region of size 0 overflows the destination [-Werror=stringop-overflow=]
524 | memcpy(hdev->dev_class, rp->dev_class, 3);
| ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The problem here is the check for hdev being NULL in bt_dev_dbg() that
leads the compiler to conclude that hdev->dev_class might be an invalid
pointer access.
Add another explicit check for the same condition to make sure gcc sees
this cannot happen.

Before setting HCI_INQUIRY bit check if HCI_OP_INQUIRY was really sent
otherwise the controller maybe be generating invalid events or, more
likely, it is a result of fuzzing tools attempting to test the right

Some layers such as SMP depend on getting notified about encryption
changes immediately as they only allow certain PDU to be transmitted
over an encrypted link which may cause SMP implementation to reject
valid PDUs received thus causing pairing to fail when it shouldn't.

This enables a broadcast sink to be informed if the PA
it has synced with is associated with an encrypted BIG,
by retrieving the socket QoS and checking the encryption
field.
After PA sync has been successfully established and the
first BIGInfo advertising report is received, a new hcon
is added and notified to the ISO layer. The ISO layer
sets the encryption field of the socket and hcon QoS
according to the encryption parameter of the BIGInfo
advertising report event.
After that, the userspace is woken up, and the QoS of the
new PA sync socket can be read, to inspect the encryption
field and follow up accordingly.

bacmp() is a wrapper around memcpy(), which contain compile-time
checks for buffer overflow. Since the hci_conn_request_evt() also calls
bt_dev_dbg() with an implicit NULL pointer check, the compiler is now
aware of a case where 'hdev' is NULL and treats this as meaning that
zero bytes are available:
In file included from net/bluetooth/hci_event.c:32:
In function 'bacmp',
inlined from 'hci_conn_request_evt' at net/bluetooth/hci_event.c:3276:7:
include/net/bluetooth/bluetooth.h:364:16: error: 'memcmp' specified bound 6 exceeds source size 0 [-Werror=stringop-overread]
364 | return memcmp(ba1, ba2, sizeof(bdaddr_t));
| ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Add another NULL pointer check before the bacmp() to ensure the compiler
understands the code flow enough to not warn about it. Since the patch
that introduced the warning is marked for stable backports, this one
should also go that way to avoid introducing build regressions.

memcmp is not consider safe to use with cryptographic secrets:
'Do not use memcmp() to compare security critical data, such as
cryptographic secrets, because the required CPU time depends on the
number of equal bytes.'
While usage of memcmp for ZERO_KEY may not be considered a security
critical data, it can lead to more usage of memcmp with pairing keys
which could introduce more security problems.

This change is used to relieve CVE-2020-26555. The description of
the CVE:
Bluetooth legacy BR/EDR PIN code pairing in Bluetooth Core Specification
1.0B through 5.2 may permit an unauthenticated nearby device to spoof
the BD_ADDR of the peer device to complete pairing without knowledge
of the PIN. [1]
The detail of this attack is in IEEE paper:
BlueMirror: Reflections on Bluetooth Pairing and Provisioning Protocols
[2]
It's a reflection attack. The paper mentioned that attacker can induce
the attacked target to generate null link key (zero key) without PIN
code. In BR/EDR, the key generation is actually handled in the controller
which is below HCI.
A condition of this attack is that attacker should change the
BR_ADDR of his hacking device (Host B) to equal to the BR_ADDR with
the target device being attacked (Host A).
Thus, we reject the connection with device which has same BD_ADDR
both on HCI_Create_Connection and HCI_Connection_Request to prevent
the attack. A similar implementation also shows in btstack project.

This commit implements defer setup support for the Broadcast Sink
scenario: By setting defer setup on a broadcast socket before calling
listen, the user is able to trigger the PA sync and BIG sync procedures
separately.
This is useful if the user first wants to synchronize to the periodic
advertising transmitted by a Broadcast Source, and trigger the BIG sync
procedure later on.
If defer setup is set, once a PA sync established event arrives, a new
hcon is created and notified to the ISO layer. A child socket associated
with the PA sync connection will be added to the accept queue of the
listening socket.
Once the accept call returns the fd for the PA sync child socket, the
user should call read on that fd. This will trigger the BIG create sync
procedure, and the PA sync socket will become a listening socket itself.
When the BIG sync established event is notified to the ISO layer, the
bis connections will be added to the accept queue of the PA sync parent.
The user should call accept on the PA sync socket to get the final bis
connections.

When user tries to connect a new CIS when its CIG is not configurable,
that connection shall fail, but pre-existing connections shall not be
affected. However, currently hci_cc_le_set_cig_params deletes all CIS
of the CIG on error so it doesn't work, even though controller shall not
change CIG/CIS configuration if the command fails.
Fix by failing on command error only the connections that are not yet
bound, so that we keep the previous CIS configuration like the
controller does.

Some use cases require the user to be informed if BIG synchronization
fails. This commit makes it so that even if the BIG sync established
event arrives with error status, a new hconn is added for each BIS,
and the iso layer is notified about the failed connections.
Unsuccesful bis connections will be marked using the
HCI_CONN_BIG_SYNC_FAILED flag. From the iso layer, the POLLERR event
is triggered on the newly allocated bis sockets, before adding them
to the accept list of the parent socket.
From user space, a new fd for each failed bis connection will be
obtained by calling accept. The user should check for the POLLERR
event on the new socket, to determine if the connection was successful
or not.
The HCI_CONN_BIG_SYNC flag has been added to mark whether the BIG sync
has been successfully established. This flag is checked at bis cleanup,
so the HCI LE BIG Terminate Sync command is only issued if needed.
The BT_SK_BIG_SYNC flag indicates if BIG create sync has been called
for a listening socket, to avoid issuing the command everytime a BIGInfo
advertising report is received.

This attempts to always allocate a unique handle for connections so they
can be properly aborted by the likes of hci_abort_conn, so this uses the
invalid range as a pool of unset handles that way if userspace is trying
to create multiple connections at once each will be given a unique
handle which will be considered unset.

be associated with a different advertising handle. Otherwise,
the LE Create BIG command will fail, with error code
Command Disallowed (for reusing a BIG handle), or
Unknown Advertising Identifier (for reusing an advertising
handle).
The btmon snippet below shows an exercise for creating two BIGs
for the same controller, by opening two isotest instances with
the following command:

LE Create CIS command shall not be sent before all CIS Established
events from its previous invocation have been processed. Currently it is
sent via hci_sync but that only waits for the first event, but there can
be multiple.
Make it wait for all events, and simplify the CIS creation as follows:
Add new flag HCI_CONN_CREATE_CIS, which is set if Create CIS has been
sent for the connection but it is not yet completed.
Make BT_CONNECT state to mean the connection wants Create CIS.
On events after which new Create CIS may need to be sent, send it if
possible and some connections need it. These events are:
hci_connect_cis, iso_connect_cfm, hci_cs_le_create_cis,
hci_le_cis_estabilished_evt.
The Create CIS status/completion events shall queue new Create CIS only
if at least one of the connections transitions away from BT_CONNECT, so
that we don't loop if controller is sending bogus events.
This fixes sending multiple CIS Create for the same CIS in the
"ISO AC 6(i) - Success" BlueZ test case:

It is required for some configurations to have multiple BISes as part
of the same BIG.
Similar to the flow implemented for unicast, DEFER_SETUP will also be
used to bind multiple BISes for the same BIG, before starting Periodic
Advertising and creating the BIG.
The user will have to open a new socket for each BIS. By setting the
BT_DEFER_SETUP socket option and calling connect, a new connection
will be added for the BIG and advertising handle set by the socket
QoS parameters. Since all BISes will be bound for the same BIG and
advertising handle, the socket QoS options and base parameters should
match for all connections.
By calling connect on a socket that does not have the BT_DEFER_SETUP
option set, periodic advertising will be started and the BIG will
be created, with a BIS for each previously bound connection. Since
a BIG cannot be reconfigured with additional BISes after creation,
no more connections can be bound for the BIG after the start periodic
advertising and create BIG commands have been queued.
The bis_cleanup function has also been updated, so that the advertising
set and the BIG will not be terminated unless there are no more
bound or connected BISes.
The HCI_CONN_BIG_CREATED connection flag has been added to indicate
that the BIG has been successfully created. This flag is checked at
bis_cleanup, so that the BIG is only terminated if the
HCI_LE_Create_BIG_Complete has been received.
This implementation has been tested on hardware, using the "isotest"
tool with an additional command line option, to specify the number of
BISes to create as part of the desired BIG:
tools/isotest -i hci0 -s 00:00:00:00:00:00 -N 2 -G 1 -T 1
The btmon log shows that a BIG containing 2 BISes has been created:

In hci_cs_disconnect, we do hci_conn_del even if disconnection failed.
ISO, L2CAP and SCO connections refer to the hci_conn without
hci_conn_get, so disconn_cfm must be called so they can clean up their
conn, otherwise use-after-free occurs.

hci_update_accept_list_sync iterates over hdev->pend_le_conns and
hdev->pend_le_reports, and waits for controller events in the loop body,
without holding hdev lock.
Meanwhile, these lists and the items may be modified e.g. by
le_scan_cleanup. This can invalidate the list cursor or any other item
in the list, resulting to invalid behavior (eg use-after-free).
Use RCU for the hci_conn_params action lists. Since the loop bodies in
hci_sync block and we cannot use RCU or hdev->lock for the whole loop,
copy list items first and then iterate on the copy. Only the flags field
is written from elsewhere, so READ_ONCE/WRITE_ONCE should guarantee we
read valid values.
Free params everywhere with hci_conn_params_free so the cleanup is
guaranteed to be done properly.
This fixes the following, which can be triggered e.g. by BlueZ new
mgmt-tester case "Add + Remove Device Nowait - Success", or by changing
hci_le_set_cig_params to always return false, and running iso-tester:

When receiving a scan response there is no way to know if the remote
device is connectable or not, so when it cannot be merged don't
make any assumption and instead just mark it with a new flag defined as
MGMT_DEV_FOUND_SCAN_RSP so userspace can tell it is a standalone
SCAN_RSP.

The order of CIS handle array in Set CIG Parameters response shall match
the order of the CIS_ID array in the command (Core v5.3 Vol 4 Part E Sec
7.8.97). We send CIS_IDs mainly in the order of increasing CIS_ID (but
with "last" CIS first if it has fixed CIG_ID). In handling of the
reply, we currently assume this is also the same as the order of
hci_conn in hdev->conn_hash, but that is not true.
Match the correct hci_conn to the correct handle by matching them based
on the CIG+CIS combination. The CIG+CIS combination shall be unique for
ISO_LINK hci_conn at state >= BT_BOUND, which we maintain in
hci_le_set_cig_params.

2 pages for local ext features, but they don't support any features

is actually not a controller error:
Bluetooth: hci0: Opcode 0x200d failed: -110
Bluetooth: hci0: request failed to create LE connection: err -110
Instead the code shall properly detect if -ETIMEDOUT is returned and
send HCI_OP_LE_CREATE_CONN_CANCEL to give up on the connection.

Broadcom controllers present on Apple Silicon devices use the upper
8 bits of the event type in the LE Extended Advertising Report for
the channel on which the frame has been received.
These bits are reserved according to the Bluetooth spec anyway such that
we can just drop them to ensure that the advertising results are parsed
correctly.

syzbot is reporting attempt to schedule hdev->cmd_work work from system_wq
WQ into hdev->workqueue WQ which is under draining operation [1], for
commit c8efcc2589464ac7 ("workqueue: allow chained queueing during
destruction") does not allow such operation.
The check introduced by commit 877afadad2dce8aa ("Bluetooth: When HCI work
queue is drained, only queue chained work") was incomplete.
Use hdev->workqueue WQ when queuing hdev->{cmd,ncmd}_timer works because
hci_{cmd,ncmd}_timeout() calls queue_work(hdev->workqueue). Also, protect
the queuing operation with RCU read lock in order to avoid calling
queue_delayed_work() after cancel_delayed_work() completed.

The patch adds state bits, storage and HCI command chains for sending
and receiving Bluetooth Mesh advertising packets, and delivery to
requesting user space processes. It specifically creates 4 new MGMT
commands and 2 new MGMT events:
MGMT_OP_SET_MESH_RECEIVER - Sets passive scan parameters and a list of
AD Types which will trigger Mesh Packet Received events
MGMT_OP_MESH_READ_FEATURES - Returns information on how many outbound
Mesh packets can be simultaneously queued, and what the currently queued
handles are.
MGMT_OP_MESH_SEND - Command to queue a specific outbound Mesh packet,
with the number of times it should be sent, and the BD Addr to use.
Discrete advertisments are added to the ADV Instance list.
MGMT_OP_MESH_SEND_CANCEL - Command to cancel a prior outbound message
request.
MGMT_EV_MESH_DEVICE_FOUND - Event to deliver entire received Mesh
Advertisement packet, along with timing information.
MGMT_EV_MESH_PACKET_CMPLT - Event to indicate that an outbound packet is
no longer queued for delivery.

To prevent multiple conn complete events, we shouldn't look up the
conn with hci_lookup_le_connect, since it requires the state to be
BT_CONNECT. By the time the duplicate event is processed, the state
might have changed, so we end up processing the new event anyway.
Change the lookup function to hci_conn_hash_lookup_ba.

Commit c8992cffbe74 ("Bluetooth: hci_event: Use of a function table to
handle Command Complete") was (presumably) meant to only refactor things
without any functional changes.
But it does have one undesirable side-effect, before *status would always
be set to skb->data[0] and it might be overridden by some of the opcode
specific handling. While now it always set by the opcode specific handlers.
This means that if the opcode is not known *status does not get set any
more at all!
This behavior change has broken bluetooth support for BCM4343A0 HCIs,
the hci_bcm.c code tries to configure UART attached HCIs at a higher
baudraute using vendor specific opcodes. The BCM4343A0 does not
support this and this used to simply fail:
[ 25.646442] Bluetooth: hci0: BCM: failed to write clock (-56)
[ 25.646481] Bluetooth: hci0: Failed to set baudrate
After which things would continue with the initial baudraute. But now
that hci_cmd_complete_evt() no longer sets status for unknown opcodes
*status is left at 0. This causes the hci_bcm.c code to think the baudraute
has been changed on the HCI side and to also adjust the UART baudrate,
after which communication with the HCI is broken, leading to:
[ 28.579042] Bluetooth: hci0: command 0x0c03 tx timeout
[ 36.961601] Bluetooth: hci0: BCM: Reset failed (-110)
And non working bluetooth. Fix this by restoring the previous
default "*status = skb->data[0]" handling for unknown opcodes.
