The recent change to allow large frames without hardware checksumming
slotted in software checksumming in the driver if hardware could not
do it.
This will however upset TSO (TCP Segment Offloading). Typical
error dumps includes this:

And the packets do not go through.
The TSO implementation is bogus: a TSO enabled driver must propagate
the skb_shinfo(skb)->gso_size value to the TSO engine on the NIC.
Drop the size check and TSO offloading features for now: this
needs to be fixed up properly.
After this ethernet works fine on Gemini devices with a direct connected
PHY such as D-Link DNS-313.
Also tested to still be working with a DSA switch using the Gemini
ethernet as conduit interface.

Fix per-queue statistics for devices with more than one queue.
The output data pointer is currently reset in each loop iteration,
effectively summing all queue statistics in the first four u64 values.
The summary values are not even labeled correctly. For example, if eth0 has
2 queues, ethtool -S eth0 shows:

Fix rxrpc_cleanup_ring() to use rxrpc_purge_queue() rather than
skb_queue_purge() so that the count of outstanding skbuffs is correctly
updated when a failed call is cleaned up.
Without this rmmod may hang waiting for rxrpc_n_rx_skbs to become zero.

At the moment, the GigE port is enabled in the mlxbf_gige_probe
function. If the mlxbf_gige_open is not executed, this could cause
pause frames to increase in the case where there is high backgroud
traffic. This results in clogging the port.
So move enabling the OOB port to mlxbf_gige_open.

Although the link is up, there is no ip assigned on setups with high background
traffic. Nothing is transmitted nor received. The RX error count keeps on
increasing. After several minutes, the RX error count stagnates and the
GigE interface finally gets an ip.
The issue is that mlxbf_gige_rx_init() is called before phy_start().
As soon as the RX DMA is enabled in mlxbf_gige_rx_init(), the RX CI reaches the max
of 128, and becomes equal to RX PI. RX CI doesn't decrease since the code hasn't
ran phy_start yet.
Bring the PHY up before starting the RX.

act_ct adds skb->users before defragmentation. If frags arrive in order,
the last frag's reference is reset in:
inet_frag_reasm_prepare
skb_morph
which is not straightforward.
However when frags arrive out of order, nobody unref the last frag, and
all frags are leaked. The situation is even worse, as initiating packet
capture can lead to a crash[0] when skb has been cloned and shared at the
same time.
Fix the issue by removing skb_get() before defragmentation. act_ct
returns TC_ACT_CONSUMED when defrag failed or in progress.

in bnxt_rx_flow_steer(). Fix it to unlock after reading fltr->base.sw_id
to guarantee that fltr won't be freed while we are still reading it.

After looking up an ntuple filter from a RCU hash list, the
rcu_read_unlock() call should be made after reading the structure,
or after determining that the filter cannot age out (by aRFS).
The existing code was calling rcu_read_unlock() too early in
bnxt_srxclsrldel().
As suggested by Simon Horman, change the code to handle the error
case of fltr_base not found in the if condition. The code looks
cleaner this way.

After recent refactoring, this function doesn't return error any

The issue appears while using Vagrant to manage nested VMs.

There is no support for per DMA channel interrupt for non-MSI platform,
where the MAC's per channel interrupt hooks up to interrupt controller(GIC)
through shared peripheral interrupt(SPI) to handle interrupt from TX/RX
transmit channel.
This patch generalize the existing MSI ISR to also support non-MSI
platform.

Make read_status more generic in preparation on moving it to shared
library as other PHY Family Driver will have the exact same
implementation.
The only specific part was a check for AR8031/33 if 1000basex was used.
The check is moved to a dedicated function specific for those PHYs.

QCA808x PHY Family supports Cable Diagnostic Test also for Cross Pair
Short.
Add all the define to make enable and support these additional tests.
Cross Short test was previously disabled by default, this is now changed
and enabled by default. In this mode, the mask changed a bit and length
is shifted based on the fault condition.

The expression "source ../lib.sh" added to net/forwarding/lib.sh in commit
25ae948b4478 ("selftests/net: add lib.sh") does not work for tests outside
net/forwarding which source net/forwarding/lib.sh (1). It also does not
work in some cases where only a subset of tests are exported (2).
Avoid the problems mentioned above by replacing the faulty expression with
a copy of the content from net/lib.sh which is used by files under
net/forwarding.

net/lib.sh and net/forwarding/lib.sh has been posted here:

Relax tracing prog recursive attach rules
Currently, it's not allowed to attach an fentry/fexit prog to another
fentry/fexit. At the same time it's not uncommon to see a tracing
program with lots of logic in use, and the attachment limitation
prevents usage of fentry/fexit for performance analysis (e.g. with
"bpftool prog profile" command) in this case. An example could be
falcosecurity libs project that uses tp_btf tracing programs for
offloading certain part of logic into tail-called programs, but the
use-case is still generic enough -- a tracing program could be
complicated and heavy enough to warrant its profiling, yet frustratingly
it's not possible to do so use best tooling for that.
Following the corresponding discussion [1], the reason for that is to
avoid tracing progs call cycles without introducing more complex
solutions. But currently it seems impossible to load and attach tracing
programs in a way that will form such a cycle. Replace "no same type"
requirement with verification that no more than one level of attachment
nesting is allowed. In this way only one fentry/fexit program could be
attached to another fentry/fexit to cover profiling use case, and still
no cycle could be formed.
The series contains a test for recursive attachment, as well as a fix +
test for an issue in re-attachment branch of bpf_tracing_prog_attach.
When preparing the test for the main change set, I've stumbled upon the
possibility to construct a sequence of events when attach_btf would be
NULL while computing a trampoline key. It doesn't look like this issue
is triggered by the main change, because the reproduces doesn't actually
need to have an fentry attachment chain.

Add a test case to verify the fix for "prog->aux->dst_trampoline and

Verify the fact that only one fentry prog could be attached to another
fentry, building up an attachment chain of limited size. Use existing

from the fact that attach_prog_fd is specified at the prog load (thus
making it impossible to attach to a program loaded after it in this
way), as well as tracing progs not implementing link_detach.

one level of attachment nesting is allowed. In this way only one
fentry/fexit program could be attached to another fentry/fexit to cover
profiling use case, and still no cycle could be formed. To implement,
add a new field into bpf_prog_aux to track nested attachment for tracing
programs.

Testing long jumps requires having >32k instructions. That many
instructions require the verifier log buffer of 2 megabytes.
The regular test_progs run doesn't need an increased buffer, since
gotol test with 40k instructions doesn't request a log,
but test_progs -v will set the verifier log level.
Hence to avoid breaking gotol test with -v increase the buffer size.

bpfilter was supposed to convert iptables filtering rules into
BPF programs on the fly, from the kernel, through a usermode
helper. The base code for the UMH was introduced in 2018, and
couple of attempts (2, 3) tried to introduce the BPF program
generate features but were abandoned.
bpfilter now sits in a kernel tree unused and unusable, occasionally
causing confusion amongst Linux users (4, 5).
As bpfilter is now developed in a dedicated repository on GitHub (6),
it was suggested a couple of times this year (LSFMM/BPF 2023,
LPC 2023) to remove the deprecated kernel part of the project. This
is the purpose of this patch.

After merging the patch set [1] to reduce memory usage
for bpf_global_percpu_ma, Alexei found a redundant check (cpu == 0)
in function bpf_mem_alloc_percpu_unit_init() ([2]).
Indeed, the check is unnecessary since c->unit_size will
be all NULL or all non-NULL for all cpus before
for_each_possible_cpu() loop.
Removing the check makes code less confusing.

Libbpf-side __arg_ctx fallback support
Support __arg_ctx global function argument tag semantics even on older kernels
that don't natively support it through btf_decl_tag("arg:ctx").
Patches #2-#6 are preparatory work to allow to postpone BTF loading into the
kernel until after all the BPF program relocations (including global func
appending to main programs) are done. Patch #4 is perhaps the most important
and establishes pre-created stable placeholder FDs, so that relocations can
embed valid map FDs into ldimm64 instructions.
Once BTF is done after relocation, what's left is to adjust BTF information to
have each main program's copy of each used global subprog to point to its own
adjusted FUNC -> FUNC_PROTO type chain (if they use __arg_ctx) in such a way
as to satisfy type expectations of BPF verifier regarding the PTR_TO_CTX
argument definition. See patch #8 for details.
Patch #8 adds few more __arg_ctx use cases (edge cases like multiple arguments
having __arg_ctx, etc) to test_global_func_ctx_args.c, to make it simple to
validate that this logic indeed works on old kernels. It does. But just to be
100% sure patch #9 adds a test validating that libbpf uploads func_info with
properly modified BTF data.
