* dt-bindings: drop redundant part of title (end, part three)Krzysztof Kozlowski2022-12-161-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The Devicetree bindings document does not have to say in the title that it is a "binding", but instead just describe the hardware. Drop trailing "bindings" in various forms (also with trailing full stop): find Documentation/devicetree/bindings/ -type f -name '*.yaml' \ -not -name 'trivial-devices.yaml' \ -exec sed -i -e 's/^title: \(.*\) [bB]indings\?\.\?$/title: \1/' {} \; Signed-off-by: Krzysztof Kozlowski <krzysztof.kozlowski@linaro.org> Acked-by: Alexandre Belloni <alexandre.belloni@bootlin.com> Acked-by: Matti Vaittinen <mazziesaccount@gmail.com> # ROHM Acked-by: Ulf Hansson <ulf.hansson@linaro.org> # MMC Acked-by: Stephen Boyd <sboyd@kernel.org> # clk Acked-by: Dmitry Torokhov <dmitry.torokhov@gmail.com> # input Acked-by: Mark Brown <broonie@kernel.org> Acked-by: Hans Verkuil <hverkuil-cisco@xs4all.nl> # media Acked-by: Sebastian Reichel <sre@kernel.org> # power Acked-by: Viresh Kumar <viresh.kumar@linaro.org> # cpufreq Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20221216163815.522628-7-krzysztof.kozlowski@linaro.org Signed-off-by: Rob Herring <robh@kernel.org>
* dt-bindings: hwlock: qcom-hwspinlock: add syscon to MSM8974Krzysztof Kozlowski2022-10-171-1/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | The TCSR_MUTEX region contains two set of registers: mutex and halt. Add syscon, so the TCSR mutex device (hwspinlock) can use MMIO based method and in the same time share regmap with other devices for the halt regs. * dt-bindings: hwlock: qcom-hwspinlock: add support for MMIO on older SoCsKrzysztof Kozlowski2022-09-131-3/+12
| | | | | | | | | | | | Older Qualcomm SoCs have TCSR mutex registers with 0x80 stride, instead of 0x1000. Add dedicated compatibles for such case. Unfortunately the binding started using a generic "qcom,tcsr-mutex" compatible without specifying the SoC part, thus it looks now quite inconsistent. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The Qualcomm hwlock is described in DeviceTree either directly on the mmio bus or split between a syscon and a mutex node, but as noted in [1] the latter is not valid DT, so remove any traces of this from the binding. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | In modern Qualcomm platforms the mutex region of the TCSR is forked off into its own block, all with a offset of 0 and stride of 4096, and in some of these platforms no other registers in this region is accessed from Linux. * Documentation: dt: add common bindings for hwspinlockSuman Anna2015-05-021-0/+59
This patch adds the generic common bindings used to represent a hwlock device and use/request locks in a device-tree build. Each hwspinlock provider should have the '#hwlock-cells' property, which represents the number of cells to be used for representing a specific hwspinlock. Client users shall use the property 'hwlocks' for requesting specific lock(s). Note that the document is named hwlock.txt deliberately to keep it a bit more generic.
