* [media] v4l2-ctrls: v4l2_ctrl_handler_setup must set is_new to 1Hans Verkuil2011-01-191-0/+12
| | | | | | | | | | | | Renamed has_new to is_new. Drivers can use the is_new field to determine if a new value was specified for a control. The v4l2_ctrl_handler_setup() must always set this to 1 since the setup has to force a full update of all controls. * [media] Remove the old V4L1 v4lgrab.c fileMauro Carvalho Chehab2010-12-292-209/+0
| | | | | | | | | | This example file uses the old V4L1 API. It also doesn't use libv4l. So, it is completely obsolete. A good example already exists at v4l-utils (v4l2grab.c): http://git.linuxtv.org/v4l-utils.git Reviewed-by: Hans Verkuil <hverkuil@xs4all.nl> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@redhat.com>

* [media] gspca - sq905c: Adds the Lego BionicleTheodore Kilgore2010-12-291-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | This patch adds the Vendor:Product number of the Lego Bionicle camera to the existing gspca/sq905c.c and also a line for the camera in gspca.txt. The camera works "out of the box" with these small changes. So this is just in time for Christmas. Think of the children. * [media] Support for Elgato Video CaptureAdrian Taylor2010-10-221-1/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch allows this device successfully to show video, at least from its composite input. I have no information about the true hardware contents of this device and so this patch is based solely on fiddling with things until it worked. The chip appears to be em2860, and the closest device with equivalent inputs is the Typhoon DVD Maker. Copying the settings for that device appears to do the trick. That's what this patch does. * [media] radio-mr800: fix locking orderHans Verkuil2010-10-211-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Don't hold the lock before unregistering the device, since when the device is unregistered the datastruct containing the lock may be freed (if the refcount went to 0). Also fixed the framework documentation that erroneously suggested the wrong locking order as well. * V4L/DVB: v4l2: add core serialization lockHans Verkuil2010-10-211-0/+20
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Drivers can optionally set a pointer to a mutex in struct video_device. The core will use that to lock before calling open, read, write, unlocked_ioctl, poll, mmap or release. Updated the documentation as well and ensure that v4l2-event knows about the lock: it will unlock it before doing a blocking wait on an event and relock it afterwards. Ensure that the 'video_is_registered' check is done when the lock is held: a typical disconnect will take the lock as well before unregistering the device nodes, so to prevent race conditions the video_is_registered check should also be done with the lock held. Signed-off-by: Hans Verkuil <hverkuil@xs4all.nl> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@redhat.com>
* V4L/DVB: v4l2-dev: after a disconnect any ioctl call will be blockedHans Verkuil2010-10-211-3/+2
| | | | | | | | | | Until now all fops except release and (unlocked_)ioctl returned an error after the device node was unregistered. Extend this as well to the ioctl fops. There is nothing useful that an application can do here and it complicates the driver code unnecessarily. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Below you will find an updated version from the original series bunching all patches into one big patch updating broken web addresses that are located in Documentation/* Some of the addresses date as far far back as 1995 etc... so searching became a bit difficult, the best way to deal with these is to use web.archive.org to locate these addresses that are outdated. Now there are also some addresses pointing to .spec files some are located, but some(after searching on the companies site)where still no where to be found. In this case I just changed the address to the company site this way the users can contact the company and they can locate them for the users. Signed-off-by: Justin P. * | V4L/DVB: dvb: add support for kworld 340u and ub435-q to em28xx-dvbJarod Wilson2010-08-021-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This adds support for the KWorld PlusTV 340U and KWorld UB345-Q ATSC sticks, which are really the same device. The sticks have an eMPIA em2870 usb bridge chipset, an LG Electronics LGDT3304 ATSC/QAM demodulator and an NXP TDA18271HD tuner -- early versions of the 340U have a a TDA18271HD/C1, later models and the UB435-Q have a C2. The stick has been tested succesfully with both VSB_8 and QAM_256 signals. Its using lgdt3304 support added to the lgdt3305 driver by a prior patch, rather than the current lgdt3304 driver, as its severely lacking in functionality by comparison (see said patch for details).
