This variable contains the global PID (PID in the init namespace) as %p contains the PID in the current namespace which isn't always what we want. The main use for this is to make it easier to handle crashes that happened within a container. With that new variables it's possible to have the crashes dumped into the container or forwarded to the host with the right PID (from the host's point of view). The backup battery is optional, connected to the VBACKUP pin, and can be nonrechargeable or rechargeable. The rechargeable battery can be charged from the system supply using the backup battery charger. Add support for enabling charging of this backup battery. Also add the DT binding document and the new properties to have this support. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Pavel reported that in case if vma area get unmapped and then mapped (or expanded) in-place, the soft dirty tracker won't be able to recognize this situation since it works on pte level and ptes are get zapped on unmap, loosing soft dirty bit of course. So to resolve this situation we need to track actions on vma level, there VM_SOFTDIRTY flag comes in. When new vma area created (or old expanded) we set this bit, and keep it here until application calls for clearing soft dirty bit. Thus when user space application track memory changes now it can detect if vma area is renewed. If no regions are defined no statistics are collected so there isn't any performance impact. Only bio-based DM devices are currently supported. Each user-defined region specifies a starting sector, length and step. Individual statistics will be collected for each step-sized area within the range specified. The I/O statistics counters for each step-sized area of a region are in the same format as /sys/block/*/stat or /proc/diskstats but extra counters (12 and 13) are provided: total time spent reading and writing in milliseconds. All these counters may be accessed by sending the @stats_print message to the appropriate DM device via dmsetup. The creation of DM statistics will allocate memory via kmalloc or fallback to using vmalloc space. At most, 1/4 of the overall system memory may be allocated by DM statistics. This is by way of adding a new clock op, determine_rate(), which is like round_rate() but has an extra parameter to allow the clock implementation to optionally select a different parent clock. The core then takes care of reparenting the clock when setting the rate. The parent change takes place with the help of some new private data members. struct clk::new_parent specifies a clock's new parent (NULL indicates no change), and struct clk::new_child specifies a clock's new child (whose new_parent member points back to it). The purpose of these are to allow correct walking of the future tree for notifications prior to actually reparenting any clocks, specifically to skip child clocks who are being reparented to another clock (they will be notified via the new parent), and to include any new child clock. These pointers are set by clk_calc_subtree(), and the new_child pointer gets cleared when a child is actually reparented to avoid duplicate POST_RATE_CHANGE notifications. Each place where round_rate() is called, determine_rate() is checked first and called in preference. This restructures a few of the call sites to simplify the logic into if/else blocks. For this duration pixel clock is used to clock hdmi. This patch is exposing the mux for changing parent.
