* powerpc/85xx: Rework MPC8548CDS device treesKumar Gala2011-11-241-383/+122
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Utilize new split between board & SoC, and new SoC device trees split into pre & post utilizing 'template' includes for SoC IP blocks. Other changes include: * Moved to a standard 2 #address-cells & #size-cells at top-level * Moved to specifying interrupt-parent for mpic at root * Moved to 4-cell mpic interrupt cells to support MPIC timers * Moved mdio nodes up one level instead of under tsec nodes * Reworked PCIe nodes to allow supportin IRQs for controller (errors) and moved PCI device IRQs down to virtual bridge level * Removed CPU properties setup by u-boot to match other .dts * Added localbus node, but no chipselect details at this point * Added MPIC / PCIe msi node * Dropping "fsl,mpc8548-IP..." from compatibles for standard blocks Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
* powerpc/85xx: Change deprecated binding for 85xx-based boardsBradley Hughes2010-08-041-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | The "fsl,85..." style compatible binding was to be deprecated some time ago. This patch corrects existing occurrences of the incorrect binding. The memory-controller and l2-cache-controller are the only affected nodes. Signed-off-by: Bradley Hughes <bhughes@silicontkx.com> Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
* powerpc/85xx: Enable support for ports 3 and 4 on 8548 CDSAndy Fleming2010-05-211-4/+0
| | | | | | | | | | I believe support was disabled due to issues with earlier versions of the board/processor. At worst, adding the ports back into the device tree should result in enabling ports that don't work on older systems, so the default should be to enable them. Signed-off-by: Andy Fleming <afleming@freescale.com> Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
* powerpc/85xx: Add support for I2C EEPROMs on MPC8548CDS boardsAnton Vorontsov2009-08-201-0/+20
| | | | | | | | This patch simply adds four eeprom nodes to MPC8548CDS' device tree. Signed-off-by: Anton Vorontsov <avorontsov@ru.mvista.com> Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org> Signed-off-by: Benjamin Herrenschmidt <benh@kernel.crashing.org>
* powerpc/fsl: Removed reg property from 85xx/86xx soc nodeKumar Gala2009-05-191-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | Between the addition of the ecm/mcm law nodes and the fact that the get_immrbase() has been using the range property of the SoC to determine the base address of CCSR space we no longer need the reg property at the soc node level. It has been ill specified and varied between device trees to cover either the {e,m}cm-law node, some odd subset of CCSR space or all of CCSR space. Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
* powerpc/85xx: Add new LAW & ECM device tree nodes for all 85xx systemsKumar Gala2009-05-191-0/+13
| | | | Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
* powerpc/fsl: Remove cell-index from PCI nodesKumar Gala2009-05-191-3/+0
| | | | | | | | The cell-index property isn't used on PCI nodes and is ill defined. Remove it for now and if someone comes up with a good reason and consistent definition for it we can add it back Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
* powerpc/85xx: Move gianfar mdio nodes under the ethernet nodesAnton Vorontsov2009-03-241-72/+84
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Currently it doesn't matter where the mdio nodes are placed, but with power management support (i.e. when sleep = <> properties will take effect), mdio nodes placement will become important: mdio controller is a part of the ethernet block, so the mdio nodes should be placed correctly. Otherwise we may wrongly assume that MDIO controllers are available during sleep. Suggested-by: Scott Wood <scottwood@freescale.com> Signed-off-by: Anton Vorontsov <avorontsov@ru.mvista.com> Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
* gianfar: Convert gianfar to an of_platform_driverAndy Fleming2008-12-161-0/+44
| | | | | | | | | | | Does the same for the accompanying MDIO driver, and then modifies the TBI configuration method. The old way used fields in einfo, which no longer exists. The new way is to create an MDIO device-tree node for each instance of gianfar, and create a tbi-handle property to associate ethernet controllers with the TBI PHYs they are connected to. * powerpc/fsl: proliferate simple-bus compatibility to soc nodesKim Phillips2008-07-291-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | add simple-bus compatible property to soc nodes for 83xx/85xx platforms that were missing them. Add same to platform probe code. This fixes SoC device drivers (such as talitos) to succeed in matching devices present in the soc node. also update mpc836x_rdk dts to new SEC bindings (overlooked in commit 3fd4473: powerpc/fsl: update crypto node definition and device tree instances). Signed-off-by: Kim Phillips <kim.phillips@freescale.com> Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
* powerpc/fsl: update crypto node definition and device tree instancesKim Phillips2008-07-141-0/+11
| | | | | | | | | | delete obsolete device-type property, delete model property (use compatible property instead), prepend "fsl," to Freescale specific properties. Add nodes to device trees that are missing them, and fix broken property values in other trees. | * [POWERPC] 85xx: MPC8548CDS - Fix size of PCIe IO spaceKumar Gala2008-06-091-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Andrew Klossner pointed out the IO space size was in violation of the alignment requirements for windows on the 85xx. The size should have been 1M (to match u-boot). Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
* | powerpc: Add dma nodes to 83xx, 85xx and 86xx boardsKumar Gala2008-06-271-0/+41
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Added DMA nodes for the elo/elo-plus DMA engines. Renamed the interrupt controller alias in mpc832x_rdb.dts to ipic so that its the same as all the other boards. Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
* | [POWERPC] 85xx: Add next-level-cache propertyKumar Gala2008-06-021-1/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Added next-level-cache to the L1 and a reference to the new L2 label. This is per the ePAPR 0.94 spec. Since we are't really dependent on this today we aren't supporting the "legacy" l2-cache phandle that is specified in the PPC v2.1 OF Binding spec. Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
* | [POWERPC] Cleanup mpic nodes in .dtsKumar Gala2008-06-021-2/+0
|/ | | | | | | | Removed clock-frequency, big-endian, and built-in props as they aren't specified anywhere. Also added compatible = "chrp,open-pic" in the places it was missing. Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>

| | | | | | | | * Removed device_type = "i2c" * Added missing second I2C controller on MPC8548 CDS, MPC8544 DS * Added #address-cells, #size-cells, and cell-index where missing Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
* [POWERPC] Move PCI nodes to be sibilings with SOC nodesKumar Gala2007-09-141-196/+203
| | | | | | | | | | | Updated the device trees to have the PCI nodes be at the same level as the SOC node. This is to make it so that the SOC nodes children address space is just on chip registers and not other bus memory as well. Also, for PCIe nodes added a P2P bridge to handle the virtual P2P bridge that exists in the PHB. Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
* [POWERPC] DTS cleanupKumar Gala2007-09-141-5/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | Removed the following cruft from .dts files: * 32-bit in cpu node -- doesn't exist in any spec and not used by kernel * removed built-in (chrp legacy) * Removed #interrupt-cells in places they don't need to be set * Fixed ranges on lite5200* * Removed clock-frequency from i8259 pic node, not sure where this came from * Removed big-endian from i8259 pic nodes, this was just bogus Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
* [POWERPC] 85xxCDS: MPC8548 DTS cleanup.Randy Vinson2007-07-241-35/+89
| | | | | | | | | | | Added the P2P bridge present on the Arcadia base board and moved the VIA Southbridge behind the bridge to reflect its actual position in the bus organization. Added the RTC that's in the VIA Southbridge and expanded the ranges array for the SOC node to allow proper address translation of the RTC registers. Signed-off-by: Randy Vinson <rvinson@mvista.com> Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
* [POWERPC] Add 8548 CDS PCI express controller node and PCI-X device nodeRoy Zang2007-07-231-51/+105
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Add 8548 CDS PCI express controller node and PCI-X device node. The current dts file is suitable for 8548 Rev 2.0 board with Arcadia 3.1. This kind of board combination is the most popular. Used the following compatible properties: PCI "fsl,mpc8540-pci" PCI-X: "fsl,mpc8540-pcix" PCIe: "fsl,mpc8548-pcie" Signed-off-by: Roy Zang <tie-fei.zang@freescale.com> Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
* [POWERPC] Fix up interrupt senses for MPC85xx boardsKumar Gala2007-07-031-4/+4
| | | | | | | The PHY is active-low on the MPC85xx CDS and the 8560 ADS just had the wrong sense for the internal PCI and CPM interrupts. Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
* [POWERPC] Reworked interrupt numbers for OpenPIC based Freescale chipsKumar Gala2007-07-031-47/+47
| | | | | | | | | | Make the interrupt numbers match the OpenPIC spec intead of the Freescale docs which distinguish between internal and external interrupts. Now we can use the interrupt number directly to find the register offset associated with it. Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
* [POWERPC] Fix MAC address entries for 83xx, 85xx, and 86xx device treesTimur Tabi2007-07-031-4/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | For the 83xx, 85xx, and 86xx device trees, add a "local-mac-address" property to every Ethernet node that didn't have one. Add a comment indicating that the "address" and/or "mac-address" properties are deprecated in DTS files and will be removed at a later time. Change all MAC address properties to have a zero MAC address value. Signed-off-by: Timur Tabi <timur@freescale.com> Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
* [POWERPC] 85xx: Fix 8548CDS reset bugRoy Zang2007-07-031-0/+6
| | | | | | | | | | Begin with MPC8548 a new reset control register is added that asserts HRESET_REQ to board logic. This register is used for chip reset. Signed-off-by: Roy Zang <tie-fei.zang@freescale.com> Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
