Running event hv_gpci/dispatch_timebase_by_processor_processor_time_in_timebase_cycles,phys_processor_idx=0/

The above error is because of the hcall failure as required
permission "Enable Performance Information Collection" is not set.
Based on current code, single_gpci_request function did not check the
error type incase hcall fails and by default returns EINVAL. But we can
have other reasons for hcall failures like H_AUTHORITY/H_PARAMETER with
detail_rc as GEN_BUF_TOO_SMALL, for which we need to act accordingly.
Fix this issue by adding new checks in the single_gpci_request and
h_gpci_event_init functions.
Result after fix patch changes:
# perf stat -e hv_gpci/dispatch_timebase_by_processor_processor_time_in_timebase_cycles,phys_processor_idx=0/ sleep 2
Error:

affinity_domain_via_partition_show function
To access hv-gpci kernel interface files data, the
"Enable Performance Information Collection" option has to be set
in hmc. Incase that option is not set and user try to read
the interface files, it should give error message as
operation not permitted.
Result of accessing added interface files with disabled
performance collection option:
[command]# cat processor_bus_topology
cat: processor_bus_topology: Operation not permitted
[command]# cat processor_config
cat: processor_config: Operation not permitted
[command]# cat affinity_domain_via_domain
cat: affinity_domain_via_domain: Operation not permitted
[command]# cat affinity_domain_via_virtual_processor
cat: affinity_domain_via_virtual_processor: Operation not permitted
[command]# cat affinity_domain_via_partition
Based on above result there is no error message when reading
affinity_domain_via_partition file because of missing
check for failed hcall. Fix this issue by adding
a check in the start of affinity_domain_via_partition_show
function, to return error incase hcall fails, with error type
other then H_PARAMETER.

H_GetPerformanceCounterInfo (0xF080) hcall returns the counter data in
the result buffer. Result buffer has specific format defined in the PAPR
specification. One of the fields is counter offset and width of the
counter data returned.
Counter data are returned in a unsigned char array in big endian byte
order. To get the final counter data, the values must be left shifted
byte at a time. But commit 220a0c609ad17 ("powerpc/perf: Add support for
the hv gpci (get performance counter info) interface") made the shifting
bitwise and also assumed little endian order. Because of that, hcall
counters values are reported incorrectly.
In particular this can lead to counters go backwards which messes up the
counter prev vs now calculation and leads to huge counter value
reporting:

Patch here adds a cpumask attr to hv_gpci pmu along with ABI documentation.
Primary use to expose the cpumask is for the perf tool which has the
capability to parse the driver sysfs folder and understand the
cpumask file. Having cpumask file will reduce the number of perf command
line parameters (will avoid "-C" option in the perf tool
command line). It can also notify the user which is
the current cpu used to retrieve the counter data.

Patch here adds cpu hotplug functions to hv_gpci pmu.
A new cpuhp_state "CPUHP_AP_PERF_POWERPC_HV_GPCI_ONLINE" enum

is to designate a CPU to make HCALL to collect the

The GPCI hcall allows for a 4K buffer but we limit the buffer to 1K.
The problem with a 1K buffer is if a request results in returning
more values than can be accomodated in the 1K buffer the request will
fail.
The buffer we are using is currently allocated on the stack and hence
limited in size. Instead use a per-CPU 4K buffer like we do with 24x7
counters (hv-24x7.c).
While here, rename the macro GPCI_MAX_DATA_BYTES to HGPCI_MAX_DATA_BYTES
for consistency with 24x7 counters.

This adds (in req-gen/) a framework for defining gpci counter requests.
It uses macro magic similar to ftrace.
Also convert the existing hv-gpci request structures and enum values to
use the new framework (and adjust old users of the structs and enum
values to cope with changes in naming).
In exchange for this macro disaster, we get autogenerated event listing
for GPCI in sysfs, build time field offset checking, and zero
duplication of information about GPCI requests.

fixup for "powerpc/perf: Add support for the hv gpci (get performance
counter info) interface".
Makes the "not enabled" message less awful (and hidden unless
debugging).

interface
This provides a basic link between perf and hv_gpci. Notably, it does
not yet support transactions and does not list any events (they can
still be manually composed).
Example usage via perf tool:
perf stat -e 'hv_gpci/counter_info_version=3,offset=0,length=8,secondary_index=0,starting_index=0xffffffff,request=0x10/' -r 0 -C 0 -x ' ' sleep 0.1
