* sh: Kill off unused DEBUG_BOOTMEM symbol.Paul Mundt2009-06-251-4/+0
| | | | | | | This was killed off in generic code some time ago, kill off the left over symbol. Signed-off-by: Paul Mundt <lethal@linux-sh.org>
* sh: Set EARLY_SCIF_CONSOLE_PORT sanely for SH7786.Paul Mundt2009-06-161-0/+1
| | | | Signed-off-by: Paul Mundt <lethal@linux-sh.org>
* sh: Kill off extra cflags Kconfig entry.Paul Mundt2009-05-081-11/+0
| | | | | | | There is no real reason to use this anymore, as the build system generally knows what it is doing with regards to cflags mangling. Signed-off-by: Paul Mundt <lethal@linux-sh.org>
* sh: Kill off sh64's hand-rolled syscall tracer.Paul Mundt2009-05-081-8/+0
| | | | | | | This is no longer necessary, as there are now sufficient generic alternatives available. Signed-off-by: Paul Mundt <lethal@linux-sh.org>
* sh: sh7785 early scif fixMagnus Damm2009-05-081-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | This patch moves the SH4 case of EARLY_SCIF_CONSOLE_PORT so the SH7785 default value gets used. Without this patch the value for SH7785 is set to 0xffe80000. Signed-off-by: Magnus Damm <damm@igel.co.jp> Signed-off-by: Paul Mundt <lethal@linux-sh.org>
* sh: Flag IRQSTACKS as BROKEN for now.Paul Mundt2009-05-071-1/+1
| | | | | | | There still seems to be some stack corruption to sort out here, so flag this as BROKEN until this issue is sorted out. Signed-off-by: Paul Mundt <lethal@linux-sh.org>
* sh: Conditionalize the code dumper on CONFIG_DUMP_CODE.Paul Mundt2008-12-221-0/+12
| | | | | | | | We don't really want this enabled by default, but it is still quite useful for debugging. So, make it conditional and leave it off by default. Signed-off-by: Paul Mundt <lethal@linux-sh.org>
* sh: Kill off the unused SH_ALPHANUMERIC debug option.Paul Mundt2008-12-221-8/+2
| | | | Signed-off-by: Paul Mundt <lethal@linux-sh.org>
* sh: Enable skipping of bss on debug platforms for sh32 also.Paul Mundt2008-12-221-3/+12
| | | | | | | | | This enables the same functionality that sh64 has for sh32. When running on simulated hardware or via remote memory via the debug interface, memory is gauranteed to be zero on boot already, and skipping the zeroing of BSS has measurable boot time benefits. Signed-off-by: Paul Mundt <lethal@linux-sh.org>
* sh: Generic kgdb stub support.Paul Mundt2008-12-221-69/+0
| | | | | | | | This migrates from the old bitrotted kgdb stub implementation and moves to the generic stub. In the process support for SH-2/SH-2A is also added, which the old stub never provided. Signed-off-by: Paul Mundt <lethal@linux-sh.org>
* sh: Convert sh64 /proc/asids to debugfs and generic sh.Paul Mundt2008-12-221-4/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | This converts the sh64 /proc/asids entry to debugfs and enables it for all SH parts that have debugfs enabled. On MMU systems this can be used to determine which processes are using which ASIDs which in turn can be used for finer grained cache tag analysis. Signed-off-by: Paul Mundt <lethal@linux-sh.org>
* sh: Disable 4kB stacks when using PAGE_SIZE_64KB.Paul Mundt2008-09-201-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | This combination triggers a divide by zero in kernel/fork.c when calculating the initial max_threads value: max_threads = mempages / (8 * THREAD_SIZE / PAGE_SIZE); Simply disable 4K stacks on 64kB PAGE_SIZE to work around this, as it's not a terribly useful combination to begin with. Signed-off-by: Paul Mundt <lethal@linux-sh.org>
* sh: /proc/asids depends on MMU.Paul Mundt2008-08-041-1/+1
| | | | Signed-off-by: Paul Mundt <lethal@linux-sh.org>
* sh: update sh7343 codeYoshihiro Shimoda2008-07-281-1/+2
| | | | | | | | | | updated the following codes for SH7343: - add register_intc_controller() - add EARLY_SCIF_CONSOLE_PORT - add define of CPG register Signed-off-by: Yoshihiro Shimoda <shimoda.yoshihiro@renesas.com> Signed-off-by: Paul Mundt <lethal@linux-sh.org>
* sh: Disable 4KSTACKS on nommu.Paul Mundt2008-06-021-1/+1
| | | | | | | | 4k stacks on nommu ends up blowing up with all sorts of interesting slab corruption. Disable this by default unless BROKEN is also enabled. Signed-off-by: Paul Mundt <lethal@linux-sh.org>
* sh: sh-bios depends on SUPERH32.Paul Mundt2008-05-081-0/+1
| | | | Signed-off-by: Paul Mundt <lethal@linux-sh.org>

* sh: Add SH7263 CPU support.Paul Mundt2008-01-281-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | This adds support for the SH7263 (SH-2A) CPU. This particular CPU is a superset of SH7203, adding some additional peripheral blocks and hooking up additional (reserved on SH7203) vectors in the INTC block. No visibly nasty surprises, yet.. Signed-off-by: Paul Mundt <lethal@linux-sh.org>
* sh: Add SH7203 CPU support.Paul Mundt2008-01-281-0/+1

* sh: Decouple 4k and soft/hardirq stacks.Paul Mundt2007-11-021-0/+8
| | | | | | | | | | | While using separate IRQ stacks can cut down on stack consumption, many users can also use 4k stacks directly without the additional need of separate stacks for soft and hardirqs. With this split, we support the same rationale for 4KSTACKS as m68knommu, with the IRQSTACKS abstraction as per ppc64. Signed-off-by: Paul Mundt <lethal@linux-sh.org>
* sh: minor fixesMagnus Damm2007-09-211-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | This patch contains the following fixes: - Adds sh7785 support to CONFIG_EARLY_SCIF_CONSOLE_PORT. - Removes duplicate include from rts7751r2d irq code. - Removes CONFIG_CPU_HAS_INTC from sh7720 Kconfig entry. Signed-off-by: Magnus Damm <damm@igel.co.jp> Signed-off-by: Paul Mundt <lethal@linux-sh.org>

* sh: Tidy up dependencies for SH-2 build.Paul Mundt2007-06-111-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | SH-2 can presently get in to some pretty bogus states, so we tidy up the dependencies a bit and get it all building again. This gets us a bit closer to a functional allyesconfig and allmodconfig, though there are still a few things to fix up. Signed-off-by: Paul Mundt <lethal@linux-sh.org>
* sh: Allow for bootmem debug support.Paul Mundt2007-06-081-0/+4
| | | | | | Handy for debugging bootmem troubles. Signed-off-by: Paul Mundt <lethal@linux-sh.org>
* sh: Solution Engine SH7705 board and CPU updates.Nobuhiro Iwamatsu2007-05-071-1/+1
| | | | | | | | This fixes up SH7705 CPU support and the SE7705 board for some of the recent changes. Signed-off-by: Nobuhiro Iwamatsu <nobuhiro.iwamatsu.zh@hitachi.com> Signed-off-by: Paul Mundt <lethal@linux-sh.org>

* sh: Rip out broken kgdb thread support.Paul Mundt2007-05-071-4/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | The kgdb thread support is woefully out of date (it predates the pidhash), and needs a complete rewrite before it's useful again. Just rip it out entirely. Updating the unified kgdb stub is a more worthwhile endeavour for anyone that happens to be interested in this, at present it's just limping along. Signed-off-by: Paul Mundt <lethal@linux-sh.org>
* sh: Bring kgdb back from the dead.Paul Mundt2007-05-071-8/+7
| | | | | | | | This code has suffered quite a bit of bitrot, do some basic tidying to get it to a reasonably functional state again. This gets the basic support and the console working again. Signed-off-by: Paul Mundt <lethal@linux-sh.org>
* sh: Trivial build fixes for SH-2 support.Yoshinori Sato2006-12-121-1/+2
| | | | | Signed-off-by: Yoshinori Sato <ysato@users.sourceforge.jp> Signed-off-by: Paul Mundt <lethal@linux-sh.org>
* sh: stacktrace/lockdep/irqflags tracing support.Paul Mundt2006-12-061-0/+4
| | | | | | Wire up all of the essentials for lockdep.. Signed-off-by: Paul Mundt <lethal@linux-sh.org>
* sh: More flexible + SH7780 earlyprintk SCIF support.Paul Mundt2006-12-061-1/+17
| | | | | | | | | | | This makes the early printk support somewhat more flexible, moving the port definition to a config option, and making the port initialization configurable for sh-ipl+g users. At the same time, this allows us to trivially wire up the SH7780 SCIF0, so that's thrown in too more or less for free. Signed-off-by: Paul Mundt <lethal@linux-sh.org>
* sh: Add support for 4K stacks.Paul Mundt2006-09-271-0/+10
| | | | | | | | | This enables support for 4K stacks on SH. Currently this depends on DEBUG_KERNEL, but likely all boards will switch to this as the default in the future. Signed-off-by: Paul Mundt <lethal@linux-sh.org>
* sh: stack debugging support.Paul Mundt2006-09-271-0/+16
| | | | | | This adds a DEBUG_STACK_USAGE and DEBUG_STACKOVERFLOW for SH. Signed-off-by: Paul Mundt <lethal@linux-sh.org>
* sh: Use generic CONFIG_FRAME_POINTER.Paul Mundt2006-09-271-9/+1
| | | | | | | We had our own version, which serves no purpose. Simply hook SH in to the generic one. Signed-off-by: Paul Mundt <lethal@linux-sh.org>
* [PATCH] sh: Move CPU subtype configuration to its own KconfigPaul Mundt2006-01-161-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Currently the CPU subtype options are cluttering up arch/sh/Kconfig somewhat. Given that, this moves all of that in to its own arch/sh/mm/Kconfig. Things like cache configuration are also moved to this new location. This also adds support for strict CPU tuning on newer cores, which requires the addition of as-option. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
