git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/gregkh/driver-core
Pull driver core updates from Greg KH:
"Here is the big driver core patchset for 5.1-rc1
More patches than "normal" here this merge window, due to some work in
the driver core by Alexander Duyck to rework the async probe
functionality to work better for a number of devices, and independant
work from Rafael for the device link functionality to make it work
"correctly".
Also in here is:
- lots of BUS_ATTR() removals, the macro is about to go away
- firmware test fixups
- ihex fixups and simplification
- component additions (also includes i915 patches)
- lots of minor coding style fixups and cleanups.
All of these have been in linux-next for a while with no reported
issues"

We are trying to get rid of BUS_ATTR() and the usage of that in
ibmebus.c can be trivially converted to use BUS_ATTR_WO(), so use that
instead.

git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/gregkh/char-misc
Pull char/misc driver updates from Greg KH:
"Here is the big char/misc driver patch pull request for 5.1-rc1.
The largest thing by far is the new habanalabs driver for their AI
accelerator chip. For now it is in the drivers/misc directory but will
probably move to a new directory soon along with other drivers of this
type.
Other than that, just the usual set of individual driver updates and
fixes. There's an "odd" merge in here from the DRM tree that they
asked me to do as the MEI driver is starting to interact with the i915
driver, and it needed some coordination. All of those patches have
been properly acked by the relevant subsystem maintainers.
All of these have been in linux-next with no reported issues, most for
quite some time"

I'd prefer in this instance that this patch get dropped from

have clients rdy anyway for this so let's wait till next cycle

In order to provide non-atomic functions for io{read|write}64 that will
use readq and writeq when appropriate. We define a number of variants
of these functions in the generic iomap that will do non-atomic
operations on pio but atomic operations on mmio.
These functions are only defined if readq and writeq are defined. If
they are not, then the wrappers that always use non-atomic operations
from include/linux/io-64-nonatomic*.h will be used.

Adopt nvram module to reduce code duplication. This means CONFIG_NVRAM
becomes available to PPC64 builds. Previously it was only available to
PPC32 builds because it depended on CONFIG_GENERIC_NVRAM.
The IOC_NVRAM_GET_OFFSET ioctl as implemented on PPC64 validates the
offset returned by pmac_get_partition(). Do the same in the nvram module.
Note that the old PPC32 generic_nvram module lacked this test.
So when CONFIG_PPC32 && CONFIG_PPC_PMAC, the IOC_NVRAM_GET_OFFSET ioctl
would have returned 0 (always). But when CONFIG_PPC64 && CONFIG_PPC_PMAC,
the IOC_NVRAM_GET_OFFSET ioctl would have returned -1 (which is -EPERM)
when the requested partition was not found.
With this patch, the result is now -EINVAL on both PPC32 and PPC64 when
the requested PowerMac NVRAM partition is not found. This is a userspace-
visible change, in the non-existent partition case, which would be in
an error path for an IOC_NVRAM_GET_OFFSET ioctl syscall.

Add the nvram_size() function to those PowerPC platforms that don't already
have one: CHRP and PowerMac. This means that the ppc_md.nvram_size()
function can be called by nvram_get_size().
Since we are addressing CHRP inconsistencies here, rename chrp_nvram_read
and chrp_nvram_write, which break the naming convention used across
powerpc platforms for NVRAM accessor functions.

Replace nvram_* functions with static functions in nvram.h. These will
become wrappers for struct nvram_ops method calls.
This patch effectively disables existing NVRAM functionality so as to
allow the rest of the series to be bisected without build failures.
That functionality is gradually re-implemented in subsequent patches.
Replace the sole validate-checksum-and-read-byte sequence with a call to
nvram_read() which will gain the same semantics in subsequent patches.
Remove unused exports.

ASoC: More changes for v5.1
Another batch of changes for ASoC, no big core changes - it's mainly
small fixes and improvements for individual drivers.
- A big refresh and cleanup of the Samsung drivers, fixing a number of
issues which allow the driver to be used with a wider range of
userspaces.
- Fixes for the Intel drivers to make them more standard so less likely
to get bitten by core issues.
- New driver for Cirrus Logic CS35L26.

"nvidia, model" property is added to pass custom name for hda sound card.
This is parsed in hda driver and used for card name. This aligns with the
way with which sound cards are named in general.
This patch populates above for jetson-tx1, jetson-tx2 and jetson-xavier.

APEI's Generic Hardware Error Source structures do not describe
whether the SDEI event is shared or private, as this information is
discoverable via the API.
GHES needs to know whether an event is normal or critical to avoid
sharing locks or fixmap entries, but GHES shouldn't have to know about
the SDEI API.
Add a helper to register the GHES using the appropriate normal or
critical callback.

Now that ghes notification helpers provide the fixmap slots and
take the lock themselves, multiple NMI-like notifications can
be used on arm64.
These should be named after their notification method as they can't
all be called 'NMI'. x86's NOTIFY_NMI already is, change the SEA
fixmap entry to be called FIX_APEI_GHES_SEA.
Future patches can add support for FIX_APEI_GHES_SEI and
FIX_APEI_GHES_SDEI_{NORMAL,CRITICAL}.
Because all of ghes.c builds on both architectures, provide a
constant for each fixmap entry that the architecture will never
use.

To split up APEIs in_nmi() path, the caller needs to always be
in_nmi(). Add a helper to do the work and claim the notification.
When KVM or the arch code takes an exception that might be a RAS
notification, it asks the APEI firmware-first code whether it wants
to claim the exception. A future kernel-first mechanism may be queried
afterwards, and claim the notification, otherwise we fall through
to the existing default behaviour.
The NOTIFY_SEA code was merged before considering multiple, possibly
interacting, NMI-like notifications and the need to consider kernel
first in the future. Make the 'claiming' behaviour explicit.
Restructuring the APEI code to allow multiple NMI-like notifications
means any notification that might interrupt interrupts-masked
code must always be wrapped in nmi_enter()/nmi_exit(). This will
allow APEI to use in_nmi() to use the right fixmap entries.
Mask SError over this window to prevent an asynchronous RAS error
arriving and tripping 'nmi_enter()'s BUG_ON(in_nmi()).

To split up APEIs in_nmi() path, the caller needs to always be
in_nmi(). KVM shouldn't have to know about this, pull the RAS plumbing
out into a header file.
Currently guest synchronous external aborts are claimed as RAS
notifications by handle_guest_sea(), which is hidden in the arch codes
mm/fault.c. 32bit gets a dummy declaration in system_misc.h.
There is going to be more of this in the future if/when the kernel
supports the SError-based firmware-first notification mechanism and/or
kernel-first notifications for both synchronous external abort and
SError. Each of these will come with some Kconfig symbols and a
handful of header files.
Create a header file for all this.
This patch gives handle_guest_sea() a 'kvm_' prefix, and moves the
declarations to kvm_ras.h as preparation for a future patch that moves
the ACPI-specific RAS code out of mm/fault.c.

The header containing the configuration structure for davinci cpufreq
driver lives in mach-davinci/include/mach/. This is fine for now but
if we want to make davinci part of the multi_v5 build, no code external
to mach-davinci should include machine-specific headers.
Move the configuration structure to include/linux/platform_data.

THP pages can get split during different code paths. An incremented
reference count does imply we will not split the compound page. But the
pmd entry can be converted to level 4 pte entries. Keep the code
simpler by allowing large IOMMU page size only if the guest ram is
backed by hugetlb pages.

mm_iommu_do_alloc
The current code doesn't do page migration if the page allocated is a
compound page. With HugeTLB migration support, we can end up allocating
hugetlb pages from CMA region. Also, THP pages can be allocated from
CMA region. This patch updates the code to handle compound pages
correctly. The patch also switches to a single get_user_pages with the
right count, instead of doing one get_user_pages per page. That avoids
reading page table multiple times. This is done by using
get_user_pages_longterm, because that also takes care of DAX backed
pages.
DAX pages lifetime is dictated by file system rules and as such, we need
to make sure that we free these pages on operations like truncate and
punch hole. If we have long term pin on these pages, which are mostly
return to userspace with elevated page count, the entity holding the
long term pin may not be aware of the fact that file got truncated and
the file system blocks possibly got reused. That can result in
corruption.
The patch also converts the hpas member of mm_iommu_table_group_mem_t to
a union. We use the same storage location to store pointers to struct
page. We cannot update all the code path use struct page *, because we
access hpas in real mode and we can't do that struct page * to pfn
conversion in real mode.

In the old days, remap_pfn_range() required pages to be marked as
PG_reserved, so they would e.g. never get swapped out. This was
required for special mappings. Nowadays, this is fully handled via the
VMA (VM_IO | VM_PFNMAP | VM_DONTEXPAND | VM_DONTDUMP inside
remap_pfn_range() to be precise). PG_reserved is no longer required but
only a relic from the past.
So only architecture specific MM handling might require it (e.g. to
detect them as MMIO pages). As there are no architecture specific
checks for PageReserved() apart from MCA handling in ia64code, this can
go. Use simple vzalloc()/vfree() instead.
Note that before calling vzalloc(), size has already been aligned to
PAGE_SIZE, no need to align again.

The crashkernel is reserved via memblock_reserve(). memblock_free_all()
will call free_low_memory_core_early(), which will go over all reserved
memblocks, marking the pages as PG_reserved.
So manually marking pages as PG_reserved is not necessary, they are
already in the desired state (otherwise they would have been handed over
to the buddy as free pages and bad things would happen).

NestMMU requires us to mark the pte invalid and flush the tlb when we do
a RW upgrade of pte. We fixed a variant of this in the fault path in
bd5050e38aec ("powerpc/mm/radix: Change pte relax sequence to handle
nest MMU hang").

Do the same for mprotect upgrades.
Hugetlb is handled in the next patch.
