| * csky: Move static keyword to the front of declarationKrzysztof Wilczynski2019-09-301-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Move the static keyword to the front of declaration of csky_pmu_of_device_ids, and resolve the following compiler warning that can be seen when building with warnings enabled (W=1): arch/csky/kernel/perf_event.c:1340:1: warning: ‘static’ is not at beginning of declaration [-Wold-style-declaration] Signed-off-by: Krzysztof Wilczynski <kw@linux.com> Signed-off-by: Guo Ren <guoren@kernel.org>
| * csky: entry: Remove unneeded need_resched() loopValentin Schneider2019-09-301-4/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Since the enabling and disabling of IRQs within preempt_schedule_irq() is contained in a need_resched() loop, we don't need the outer arch code loop. Signed-off-by: Valentin Schneider <valentin.schneider@arm.com> Signed-off-by: Guo Ren <guoren@kernel.org>
| * csky: Fixup csky_pmu.max_period assignmentMao Han2019-09-301-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The csky_pmu.max_period has type u64, and BIT() can only return 32 bits unsigned long on C-SKY. The initialization for max_period will be incorrect when count_width is bigger than 32. Use BIT_ULL() Signed-off-by: Mao Han <han_mao@c-sky.com> Signed-off-by: Guo Ren <ren_guo@c-sky.com>
| * csky: Fixup add zero_fp fixup perf backtrace panicGuo Ren2019-09-302-21/+31
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | We need set fp zero to let backtrace know the end. The patch fixup perf callchain panic problem, because backtrace didn't know what is the end of fp. Signed-off-by: Guo Ren <ren_guo@c-sky.com> Reported-by: Mao Han <han_mao@c-sky.com>
| * csky: Use generic free_initrd_mem()Mike Rapoport2019-09-301-16/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The csky implementation of free_initrd_mem() is an open-coded version of free_reserved_area() without poisoning. Remove it and make csky use the generic version of free_initrd_mem(). Signed-off-by: Mike Rapoport <rppt@linux.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: Guo Ren <guoren@kernel.org>
| * csky: Fixup 610 vipt cache flush mechanismGuo Ren2019-08-222-12/+49
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | 610 has vipt aliasing issue, so we need to finish the cache flush apis mentioned in cachetlb.rst to avoid data corruption. Here is the list of modified apis in the patch: - flush_kernel_dcache_page (new add) - flush_dcache_mmap_lock (new add) - flush_dcache_mmap_unlock (new add) - flush_kernel_vmap_range (new add) - invalidate_kernel_vmap_range (new add) - flush_anon_page (new add) - flush_cache_range (new add) - flush_cache_vmap (flush all) - flush_cache_vunmap (flush all) - flush_cache_mm (only dcache flush) - flush_icache_page (just nop) - copy_from_user_page (remove no need flush) - copy_to_user_page (remove no need flush) Change to V2: - Fixup compile error with xa_lock*(&mapping->i_pages) Signed-off-by: Guo Ren <ren_guo@c-sky.com> Cc: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de> Cc: Christoph Hellwig <hch@infradead.org>
| * csky: Support kernel non-aligned accessGuo Ren2019-08-201-17/+45
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | We prohibit non-aligned access in kernel mode, but some special NIC driver needs to support kernel-state unaligned access. For example, when the bus does not support unaligned access, IP header parsing will cause non-aligned access and driver does not recopy the skb buffer to dma for performance reasons. Added kernel_enable & user_enable to control unaligned access and added kernel_count & user_count for statistical unaligned access. | * csky: Fixup defer cache flush for 610Guo Ren2019-08-202-25/+29
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | We use defer cache flush mechanism to improve the performance of 610, but the implementation is wrong. We fix it up now and update the mechanism: - Zero page needn't be flushed. - If page is file mapping & non-touched in user space, defer flush. - If page is anon mapping or dirty file mapping, flush immediately. - In update_mmu_cache finish the defer flush by flush_dcache_page(). For 610 we need take care the dcache aliasing issue: - VIPT cache with 8K-bytes size per way in 4K page granularity. Signed-off-by: Guo Ren <ren_guo@c-sky.com> Cc: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de>
| * csky: Fixup arch_get_unmapped_area() implementationGuo Ren2019-08-202-37/+43
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Current arch_get_unmapped_area() of abiv1 doesn't use standard kernel api. After referring to the implementation of arch/arm, we implement it with vm_unmapped_area() from linux/mm.h. Signed-off-by: Guo Ren <ren_guo@c-sky.com> Cc: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de>
| * csky: Fixup ioremap function losingGuo Ren2019-08-152-17/+29
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Implement the following apis to meet usage in different scenarios. - ioremap (NonCache + StrongOrder) - ioremap_nocache (NonCache + StrongOrder) - ioremap_wc (NonCache + WeakOrder ) - ioremap_cache ( Cache + WeakOrder ) Also change flag VM_ALLOC to VM_IOREMAP in get_vm_area_caller. | * csky: Optimize arch_sync_dma_for_cpu/device with dma_inv_rangeGuo Ren2019-08-064-5/+19
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | DMA_FROM_DEVICE only need to read dma data of memory into CPU cache, so there is no need to clear cache before. Also clear + inv for DMA_FROM_DEVICE won't cause problem, because the memory range for dma won't be touched by software during dma working. Changes for V2: - Remove clr cache and ignore the DMA_TO_DEVICE in _for_cpu. - Change inv to wbinv cache with DMA_FROM_DEVICE in _for_device. Signed-off-by: Guo Ren <ren_guo@c-sky.com> Cc: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de>
| * csky/dma: Fixup cache_op failed when cross memory ZONEsGuo Ren2019-08-061-45/+26
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | If the paddr and size are cross between NORMAL_ZONE and HIGHMEM_ZONE memory range, cache_op will panic in do_page_fault with bad_area. Optimize the code to support the range which cross memory ZONEs. Changes for V2: - Revert back to postcore_initcall Signed-off-by: Guo Ren <ren_guo@c-sky.com> Cc: Christoph Hellwig <hch@infradead.org> Cc: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de>
| * csky: Fixup dma_alloc_coherent with PAGE_SO attributeGuo Ren2019-07-312-4/+12
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This bug is from commit: 2b070ccdf8c0 (fixup abiv2 mmap(... O_SYNC) failed). In that patch we remove the _PAGE_SO for memory noncache mapping and this will cause problem when drivers use dma descriptors to control the transcations without dma_w/rmb(). After referencing other archs' implementation, pgprot_writecombine is introduced for mmap(... O_SYNC). Signed-off-by: Guo Ren <ren_guo@c-sky.com>
| * csky: Fixup mb() synchronization problemGuo Ren2019-07-311-8/+7
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The mb() is the superset of dma and smp. Using bar.xxx to implement mb() will cause problem when sync data with dma device, becasue bar.xxx couldn't guarantee bus transactions finished at outside bus level. We must use sync.s instead of bar.xxx for dma data synchronization and it will guarantee retirement after getting the bus bresponse. Changes for V2: - Use sync.s for all mb, rmb, wmb, dma_wmb, dma_rmb. Signed-off-by: Guo Ren <ren_guo@c-sky.com> Cc: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de>

| | * | ARM: dts: logicpd-som-lv: Fix i2c2 and i2c3 Pin muxAdam Ford2019-09-061-12/+14
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | When the pinmux configuration was added, it was accidentally placed into the omap3_pmx_wkup node when it should have been placed into the omap3_pmx_core. This error was accidentally propagated to stable by me when I blindly requested the pull after seeing I2C issues without actually reviewing the content of the pinout. Since the bootloader previously muxed these correctly in the past, was a hidden error. This patch moves the i2c2_pins and i2c3_pins to the correct node which should eliminate i2c bus errors and timeouts due to the fact the bootloader uses the save device tree that no longer properly assigns these pins. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | A previous commit removed the panel-dpi driver, which made the video on the AM3517-evm stop working because it relied on the dpi driver for setting video timings. Now that the simple-panel driver is available in omap2plus, this patch migrates the am3517-evm to use a similar panel and remove the manual timing requirements. Some architectures map the memmap area with large page size. On architectures like ppc64, 16MB page for memap mapping can map 262144 pfns. This maps a namespace size of 16G. When populating memmap region with 16MB page from the device area, make sure the allocated space is not used to map resources outside this namespace. Such usage of device area will prevent a namespace destroy. Add resource end pnf in altmap and use that to check if the memmap area allocation can map pfn outside the namespace. On ppc64 in such case we fallback to allocation from memory. The tlbie can race with an mtpid (move to PID register, essentially MMU context switch) on another thread of the core, which can cause stores to continue to go to a page after it's unmapped. - A fix in our KVM code to add a missing barrier, the lack of which has been observed to cause missed IPIs and subsequently stuck CPUs in the host. - A change to the way we initialise PCR (Processor Compatibility Register) to make it forward compatible with future CPUs. - On some older PowerVM systems our H_BLOCK_REMOVE support could oops, fix it to detect such systems and fallback to the old invalidation method. - A fix for an oops seen on some machines when using KASAN on 32-bit. - A handful of other minor fixes, and two new selftests. This really slows down operations like kexec where we get the H_OVERLAP error because we don't go through a full hypervisor re init. H_OVERLAP error for a H_SCM_BIND_MEM hcall indicates that SCM memory at drc index is already bound. Since we don't specify a logical memory address for bind hcall, we can use the H_SCM_QUERY hcall to query the already bound logical address. | * | | | | powerpc/mm: Fixup tlbie vs mtpidr/mtlpidr ordering issue on POWER9Aneesh Kumar K.V2019-09-245-22/+134
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | On POWER9, under some circumstances, a broadcast TLB invalidation will fail to invalidate the ERAT cache on some threads when there are parallel mtpidr/mtlpidr happening on other threads of the same core. This can cause stores to continue to go to a page after it's unmapped. The workaround is to force an ERAT flush using PID=0 or LPID=0 tlbie flush. This additional TLB flush will cause the ERAT cache invalidation. Since we are using PID=0 or LPID=0, we don't get filtered out by the TLB snoop filtering logic. We need to still follow this up with another tlbie to take care of store vs tlbie ordering issue explained in commit: a5d4b5891c2f ("powerpc/mm: Fixup tlbie vs store ordering issue on POWER9"). The presence of ERAT cache implies we can still get new stores and they may miss store queue marking flush. Due to the required complexity in do_block_remove() and call_block_remove(), and the fact that currently a block size of 8 is returned by the hypervisor, we are only supporting 8 size block to the H_BLOCK_REMOVE hcall. In order to identify this limitation easily in the code, a local define HBLKR_SUPPORTED_SIZE defining the currently supported block size, and a dedicated checking helper is_supported_hlbkr() are introduced. For regular pages and hugetlb, the assumption is made that the page size is equal to the base page size. For THP the page size is assumed to be 16M. Nick Piggin suggested something similar to the following sequence as a possible explanation (interleaving of CALL_FUNCTION/RESCHEDULE IPI messages seems to be most common, but any mix of CALL_FUNCTION and !CALL_FUNCTION messages could trigger it): CPU X: smp_muxed_ipi_set_message(): X: smp_mb() X: message[RESCHEDULE] = 1 X: doorbell_global_ipi(42): X: kvmppc_set_host_ipi(42, 1) X: ppc_msgsnd_sync()/smp_mb() X: ppc_msgsnd() -> 42 42: doorbell_exception(): // from CPU X 42: ppc_msgsync() 105: smp_muxed_ipi_set_message(): 105: smb_mb() // STORE DEFERRED DUE TO RE-ORDERING --105: message[CALL_FUNCTION] = 1 | 105: doorbell_global_ipi(42): | 105: kvmppc_set_host_ipi(42, 1) | 42: kvmppc_set_host_ipi(42, 0) | 42: smp_ipi_demux_relaxed() | 42: // returns to executing guest | // RE-ORDERED STORE COMPLETES ->105: message[CALL_FUNCTION] = 1 105: ppc_msgsnd_sync()/smp_mb() 105: ppc_msgsnd() -> 42 42: local_paca->kvm_hstate.host_ipi == 0 // IPI ignored 105: // hangs waiting on 42 to process messages/call_single_queue This can be prevented with an smp_mb() at the beginning of kvmppc_set_host_ipi(), such that stores to message[<type>] (or other state indicated by the host_ipi flag) are ordered vs. the store to to host_ipi. However, doing so might still allow for the following scenario (not yet observed): CPU X: smp_muxed_ipi_set_message(): X: smp_mb() X: message[RESCHEDULE] = 1 X: doorbell_global_ipi(42): X: kvmppc_set_host_ipi(42, 1) X: ppc_msgsnd_sync()/smp_mb() X: ppc_msgsnd() -> 42 42: doorbell_exception(): // from CPU X 42: ppc_msgsync() // STORE DEFERRED DUE TO RE-ORDERING -- 42: kvmppc_set_host_ipi(42, 0) | 42: smp_ipi_demux_relaxed() | 105: smp_muxed_ipi_set_message(): | 105: smb_mb() | 105: message[CALL_FUNCTION] = 1 | 105: doorbell_global_ipi(42): | 105: kvmppc_set_host_ipi(42, 1) | // RE-ORDERED STORE COMPLETES -> 42: kvmppc_set_host_ipi(42, 0) 42: // returns to executing guest 105: ppc_msgsnd_sync()/smp_mb() 105: ppc_msgsnd() -> 42 42: local_paca->kvm_hstate.host_ipi == 0 // IPI ignored 105: // hangs waiting on 42 to process messages/call_single_queue Fixing this scenario would require an smp_mb() *after* clearing host_ipi flag in kvmppc_set_host_ipi() to order the store vs. subsequent processing of IPI messages. To handle both cases, this patch splits kvmppc_set_host_ipi() into separate set/clear functions, where we execute smp_mb() prior to setting host_ipi flag, and after clearing host_ipi flag. These functions pair with each other to synchronize the sender and receiver sides. With that change in place the above workload ran for 20 hours without triggering any lock-ups. This causes all new architecture features to be made available when running on newer processors with new architecture features added to the PCR as bits must be set to disable a given feature. For example to disable new features added as part of Version 2.07 of the ISA the corresponding bit in the PCR needs to be set. As new processor features generally require explicit kernel support they should be disabled until such support is implemented. Therefore kernels should set all unknown/reserved bits in the PCR such that any new architecture features which the kernel does not currently know about get disabled. An update is planned to the ISA to clarify that the PCR is an exception to the Programming Note on reserved bits in Section 1.3.3. From the original description: This patchset introduces an optional kernel lockdown feature, intended to strengthen the boundary between UID 0 and the kernel. When enabled, various pieces of kernel functionality are restricted. Applications that rely on low-level access to either hardware or the kernel may cease working as a result - therefore this should not be enabled without appropriate evaluation beforehand. The majority of mainstream distributions have been carrying variants of this patchset for many years now, so there's value in providing a doesn't meet every distribution requirement, but gets us much closer to not requiring external patches. There are two major changes since this was last proposed for mainline: - Separating lockdown from EFI secure boot. Background discussion is covered here: https://lwn.net/Articles/751061/ - Implementation as an LSM, with a default stackable lockdown LSM module. This allows the lockdown feature to be policy-driven, rather than encoding an implicit policy within the mechanism. The new locked_down LSM hook is provided to allow LSMs to make a policy decision around whether kernel functionality that would allow tampering with or examining the runtime state of the kernel should be permitted. The included lockdown LSM provides an implementation with a simple policy intended for general purpose use. This policy provides a coarse level of granularity, controllable via the kernel command line: lockdown={integrity|confidentiality} Enable the kernel lockdown feature. If set to integrity, kernel features that allow userland to modify the running kernel are disabled. If set to confidentiality, kernel features that allow userland to extract confidential information from the kernel are also disabled. This may also be controlled via /sys/kernel/security/lockdown and overriden by kernel configuration. New or existing LSMs may implement finer-grained controls of the lockdown features. Refer to the lockdown_reason documentation in include/linux/security.h for details. The lockdown feature has had signficant design feedback and review across many subsystems. This code has been in linux-next for some weeks, with a few fixes applied along the way. Stephen Rothwell noted that commit 9d1f8be5cf42 ("bpf: Restrict bpf when kernel lockdown is in confidentiality mode") is missing a Signed-off-by from its author. Reject the option when the kernel is locked down. This requires some reworking of the existing RSDP command line logic, since the early boot code also makes use of a command-line passed RSDP when locating the SRAT table before the lockdown code has been initialised. This is achieved by separating the command line RSDP path in the early boot code from the generic RSDP path, and then copying the command line RSDP into boot params in the kernel proper if lockdown is not enabled. If lockdown is enabled and an RSDP is provided on the command line, this will only be used when parsing SRAT (which shouldn't permit kernel code execution) and will be ignored in the rest of the kernel. A locked down kernel needs to prevent unsigned kernel images from being loaded with kexec_file_load(). Currently, the only way to force the signature verification is compiling with KEXEC_VERIFY_SIG. This prevents loading usigned images even when the kernel is not locked down at runtime. This patch splits KEXEC_VERIFY_SIG into KEXEC_SIG and KEXEC_SIG_FORCE. Analogous to the MODULE_SIG and MODULE_SIG_FORCE for modules, KEXEC_SIG turns on the signature verification but allows unsigned images to be loaded. KEXEC_SIG_FORCE disallows images without a valid signature.
