* dmaengine: uniphier-xdmac: Convert to platform remove callback returning voidUwe Kleine-König2023-11-241-6/+11
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The .remove() callback for a platform driver returns an int which makes many driver authors wrongly assume it's possible to do error handling by returning an error code. However the value returned is ignored (apart from emitting a warning) and this typically results in resource leaks. To improve here there is a quest to make the remove callback return void. In the first step of this quest all drivers are converted to .remove_new(), which already returns void. Eventually after all drivers are converted, .remove_new() will be renamed to .remove(). There is an error path that has the above mentioned problem. This patch only adds a more drastic error message. To properly fix it, dmaengine_terminate_sync() must be known to have succeeded (or that it's safe to not call it as other drivers seem to assume). | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Prepare for the coming implementation by GCC and Clang of the __counted_by attribute. Flexible array members annotated with __counted_by can have their accesses bounds-checked at run-time checking via CONFIG_UBSAN_BOUNDS (for array indexing) and CONFIG_FORTIFY_SOURCE (for strcpy/memcpy-family functions). As found with Coccinelle[1], add __counted_by for struct uniphier_xdmac_desc. Additionally, since the element count member must be set before accessing the annotated flexible array member, move its initialization earlier. * dmaengine: uniphier-xdmac: Fix type of address variablesKunihiko Hayashi2022-01-031-2/+3
| | | | | | | | | | The variables src_addr and dst_addr handle DMA addresses, so these should be declared as dma_addr_t. | | | | | | | | | | | | The function uniphier_xdmac_chan_stop() is only called in atomic state. Should use readl_poll_timeout_atomic() there instead of readl_poll_timeout(). * iov_iter: Move unnecessary inclusion of crypto/hash.hHerbert Xu2020-06-301-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The header file linux/uio.h includes crypto/hash.h which pulls in most of the Crypto API. Since linux/uio.h is used throughout the kernel this means that every tiny bit of change to the Crypto API causes the entire kernel to get rebuilt. This patch fixes this by moving it into lib/iov_iter.c instead where it is actually used. This patch also fixes the ifdef to use CRYPTO_HASH instead of just CRYPTO which does not guarantee the existence of ahash. Unfortunately a number of drivers were relying on linux/uio.h to provide access to linux/slab.h. This patch adds inclusions of linux/slab.h as detected by build failures. Also skbuff.h was relying on this to provide a declaration for ahash_request. This patch adds a forward declaration instead. * dmaengine: uniphier-xdmac: Add UniPhier external DMA controller driverKunihiko Hayashi2020-03-021-0/+611
This adds external DMA controller driver implemented in Socionext UniPhier SoCs. This driver supports DMA_MEMCPY and DMA_SLAVE modes. Since this driver does not support the the way to transfer size unaligned to burst width, 'src_maxburst' or 'dst_maxburst' of dma_slave_config must be 1 to transfer arbitrary size. If transfer size is unaligned to burst size, the transfer isn't started and the driver displays an error message.
