* mtd: rawnand: hynix: Add support for H27UCG8T2ETR-BC MLC NANDChris Morgan2021-10-151-0/+14
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Add support for the H27UCG8T2ETR-BC MLC NAND. The NAND is used widely in the NTC CHIP, is an MLC type NAND, and is 8GB in size. Neither JEDEC nor ONFI detection identifies it correctly, so the ID is added to the nand_ids.c file. Additionally, per the datasheet this NAND appears to use the same paired pages scheme as the Toshiba TC58TEG5DCLTA00 (dist3), so add support for that to enable use in SLC emulation mode. Tested on a NTC CHIP the device is able to write to a ubifs formatted partition, and then have U-Boot (with proposed patches) boot from a kernel located on that ubifs formatted partition. * mtd: rawnand: Replace zero-length array with flexible-array memberGustavo A. R. Silva2020-03-111-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The current codebase makes use of the zero-length array language extension to the C90 standard, but the preferred mechanism to declare variable-length types such as these ones is a flexible array member[1][2], introduced in C99: struct foo { int stuff; struct boo array[]; }; By making use of the mechanism above, we will get a compiler warning in case the flexible array does not occur last in the structure, which will help us prevent some kind of undefined behavior bugs from being inadvertently introduced[3] to the codebase from now on. Also, notice that, dynamic memory allocations won't be affected by this change: "Flexible array members have incomplete type, and so the sizeof operator may not be applied. As a quirk of the original implementation of zero-length arrays, sizeof evaluates to zero."[1] This issue was found with the help of Coccinelle. * mtd: nand: Make flags for bad block marker position more granularFrieder Schrempf2019-04-181-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | To be able to check and set bad block markers in the first and second page of a block independently of each other, we create separate flags for both cases. Previously NAND_BBM_SECONDPAGE meant, that both, the first and the second page were used. With this patch NAND_BBM_FIRSTPAGE stands for using the first page and NAND_BBM_SECONDPAGE for using the second page. This patch is only for preparation of subsequent changes and does not implement the logic to actually handle both flags separately. * mtd: rawnand: Pass the CS line to be selected in struct nand_operationBoris Brezillon2018-12-071-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | In order to deprecate the ->select_chip hook we need to pass the CS line a NAND operations are targeting. This is done through the addition of a cs field to the nand_operation struct. We also need to keep track of the currently selected target to properly initialize op->cs, hence the ->cur_cs field addition to the nand_chip struct. Note that op->cs is not assigned in nand_exec_op() because we might rework the way we execute NAND operations in the future (adopt a queuing mechanism instead of the serialization we have right now). * mtd: rawnand: hynix: fix decoding the OOB size on H27UCG8T2BTRMartin Blumenstingl2018-07-021-0/+13
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The datasheet of the H27UCG8T2BTR states that this chip has a page size of "16,384 + 1,280(Spare) bytes". The description of the "4th Byte of Device Identifier Description" indicates that bits 6, 3 and 2 are encoding the "Redundant Area Size / 8KB", where 640 bytes is a value of 0x6 (110 in binary notation). hynix_nand_extract_oobsize decodes an OOB size of 640 bytes for this chip. Kernel boot log extract before this patch: nand: Could not find valid ONFI parameter page; aborting nand: device found, Manufacturer ID: 0xad, Chip ID: 0xde nand: Hynix NAND 8GiB 3,3V 8-bit nand: 8192 MiB, MLC, erase size: 4096 KiB, page size: 16384, OOB size: 640 However, based on the description in the datasheet we need to multiply the OOB size with 2, because it's "640 spare bytes per 8192 bytes page size" and this NAND chip has a page size of 16384 (= 2 * 8192). After this patch the kernel boot log reports: nand: Could not find valid ONFI parameter page; aborting nand: device found, Manufacturer ID: 0xad, Chip ID: 0xde nand: Hynix NAND 8GiB 3,3V 8-bit nand: 8192 MiB, MLC, erase size: 4096 KiB, page size: 16384, OOB size: 1280 Signed-off-by: Martin Blumenstingl <martin.blumenstingl@googlemail.com> Reviewed-by: Boris Brezillon <boris.brezillon@bootlin.com> Signed-off-by: Miquel Raynal <miquel.raynal@bootlin.com>
