* net: add skb_[inner_]tcp_all_headers helpersEric Dumazet2022-07-021-4/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | Most drivers use "skb_transport_offset(skb) + tcp_hdrlen(skb)" to compute headers length for a TCP packet, but others use more convoluted (but equivalent) ways. Add skb_tcp_all_headers() and skb_inner_tcp_all_headers() helpers to harmonize this a bit. Signed-off-by: Eric Dumazet <edumazet@google.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

* net: add per-cpu storage and net->core_statsEric Dumazet2022-03-111-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Before adding yet another possibly contended atomic_long_t, it is time to add per-cpu storage for existing ones: dev->tx_dropped, dev->rx_dropped, and dev->rx_nohandler Because many devices do not have to increment such counters, allocate the per-cpu storage on demand, so that dev_get_stats() does not have to spend considerable time folding zero counters. Note that some drivers have abused these counters which were supposed to be only used by core networking stack. v4: should use per_cpu_ptr() in dev_get_stats() (Jakub) v3: added a READ_ONCE() in netdev_core_stats_alloc() (Paolo) v2: add a missing include (reported by kernel test robot <lkp@intel.com>) Change in netdev_core_stats_alloc() (Jakub) Signed-off-by: Eric Dumazet <edumazet@google.com> Cc: jeffreyji <jeffreyji@google.com> Reviewed-by: Brian Vazquez <brianvv@google.com> Reviewed-by: Jakub Kicinski <kuba@kernel.org> Acked-by: Paolo Abeni <pabeni@redhat.com> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20220311051420.2608812-1-eric.dumazet@gmail.com Signed-off-by: Jakub Kicinski <kuba@kernel.org>

* ethernet: hisilicon: hns: hns_dsaf_misc: fix a possible array overflow in ↵Teng Qi2021-11-181-0/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | hns_dsaf_ge_srst_by_port() The if statement: if (port >= DSAF_GE_NUM) return; limits the value of port less than DSAF_GE_NUM (i.e., 8). However, if the value of port is 6 or 7, an array overflow could occur: port_rst_off = dsaf_dev->mac_cb[port]->port_rst_off; because the length of dsaf_dev->mac_cb is DSAF_MAX_PORT_NUM (i.e., 6). To fix this possible array overflow, we first check port and if it is greater than or equal to DSAF_MAX_PORT_NUM, the function returns. * ethernet: constify references to netdev->dev_addr in driversJakub Kicinski2021-10-146-7/+8
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This big patch sprinkles const on local variables and function arguments which may refer to netdev->dev_addr. Commit 406f42fa0d3c ("net-next: When a bond have a massive amount of VLANs...") introduced a rbtree for faster Ethernet address look up. To maintain netdev->dev_addr in this tree we need to make all the writes to it got through appropriate helpers. Some of the changes here are not strictly required - const is sometimes cast off but pointer is not used for writing. It seems like it's still better to add the const in case the code changes later or relevant -W flags get enabled for the build. No functional changes. * net: hns: Prefer struct_size over open coded arithmeticLen Baker2021-10-123-5/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | As noted in the "Deprecated Interfaces, Language Features, Attributes, and Conventions" documentation [1], size calculations (especially multiplication) should not be performed in memory allocator (or similar) function arguments due to the risk of them overflowing. This could lead to values wrapping around and a smaller allocation being made than the caller was expecting. Using those allocations could lead to linear overflows of heap memory and other misbehaviors. So, take the opportunity to refactor the hnae_handle structure to switch the last member to flexible array, changing the code accordingly. Also, fix the comment in the hnae_vf_cb structure to inform that the ae_handle member must be the last member. Then, use the struct_size() helper to do the arithmetic instead of the argument "size + count * size" in the kzalloc() function. This code was detected with the help of Coccinelle and audited and fixed manually. * eth: fwnode: change the return type of mac address helpersJakub Kicinski2021-10-071-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | fwnode_get_mac_address() and device_get_mac_address() return a pointer to the buffer that was passed to them on success or NULL on failure. None of the callers care about the actual value, only if it's NULL or not. These semantics differ from of_get_mac_address() which returns an int so to avoid confusion make the device helpers return an errno. * dev_ioctl: split out ndo_eth_ioctlArnd Bergmann2021-07-271-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Most users of ndo_do_ioctl are ethernet drivers that implement the MII commands SIOCGMIIPHY/SIOCGMIIREG/SIOCSMIIREG, or hardware timestamping with SIOCSHWTSTAMP/SIOCGHWTSTAMP. Separate these from the few drivers that use ndo_do_ioctl to implement SIOCBOND, SIOCBR and SIOCWANDEV commands.
