[ Upstream commit dabb8338be533c18f50255cf39ff4f66d4dabdbe ]
The runtime_suspend device callbacks are not supposed to save
configuration state or change the power state. Commit fb29f76cc566
("igb: Fix an issue that PME is not enabled during runtime suspend")
changed the driver to not save configuration state during runtime
suspend, however the driver callback still put the device into a
low-power state. This causes a warning in the pci pm core and results in
pci_pm_runtime_suspend not calling pci_save_state or pci_finish_runtime_suspend.
Fix this by not changing the power state either, leaving that to pci pm
core, and make the same change for suspend callback as well.
Also move a couple of defines into the appropriate header file instead
of inline in the .c file.

[ Upstream commit 9624bafa5f6418b9ca5b3f66d1f6a6a2e8bf6d4c ]
The ks8851 chip's initial carrier state is down. A Link Change Interrupt
is signaled once interrupts are enabled if the carrier is up.
The ks8851 driver has it backwards by assuming that the initial carrier
state is up. The state is therefore misrepresented if the interface is
opened with no cable attached. Fix it.
The Link Change interrupt is sometimes not signaled unless the P1MBSR
register (which contains the Link Status bit) is read on ->ndo_open().
This might be a hardware erratum. Read the register by calling
mii_check_link(), which has the desirable side effect of setting the
carrier state to down if the cable was detached while the interface was
closed.

[ Upstream commit d268f31552794abf5b6aa5af31021643411f25f5 ]
The ks8851 driver currently requests the IRQ before registering the
net_device. Because the net_device name is used as IRQ name and is
still "eth%d" when the IRQ is requested, it's impossibe to tell IRQs
apart if multiple ks8851 chips are present. Most other drivers delay
requesting the IRQ until the net_device is opened. Do the same.
The driver doesn't enable interrupts on the chip before opening the
net_device and disables them when closing it, so there doesn't seem to
be a need to request the IRQ already on probe.

Commit 73fdeb82e963 ("net: ks8851: Add optional vdd_io regulator and
reset gpio") amended the ks8851 driver to briefly assert the chip's
reset pin on probe. It also amended the probe routine's error path to
reassert the reset pin if a subsequent initialization step fails.
However the commit misplaced reassertion of the reset pin in the error
path such that it is not performed if the check of the Chip ID and
Enable Register (CIDER) fails. The error path is therefore slightly
asymmetrical to the probe routine's body. Fix it.

[ Upstream commit 536d3680fd2dab5c39857d62a3e084198fc74ff9 ]
The ks8851 driver lets the chip auto-dequeue received packets once they
have been read in full. It achieves that by setting the ADRFE flag in
the RXQCR register ("Auto-Dequeue RXQ Frame Enable").
However if allocation of a packet's socket buffer or retrieval of the
packet over the SPI bus fails, the packet will not have been read in
full and is not auto-dequeued. Such partial retrieval of a packet
confuses the chip's RX queue management: On the next RX interrupt,
the first packet read from the queue will be the one left there
previously and this one can be retrieved without issues. But for any
newly received packets, the frame header status and byte count registers
(RXFHSR and RXFHBCR) contain bogus values, preventing their retrieval.
The chip allows explicitly dequeueing a packet from the RX queue by
setting the RRXEF flag in the RXQCR register ("Release RX Error Frame").
This could be used to dequeue the packet in case of an error, but if
that error is a failed SPI transfer, it is unknown if the packet was
transferred in full and was auto-dequeued or if it was only transferred
in part and requires an explicit dequeue. The safest approach is thus
to always dequeue packets explicitly and forgo auto-dequeueing.
Without this change, I've witnessed packet retrieval break completely
when an SPI DMA transfer fails, requiring a chip reset. Explicit
dequeueing magically fixes this and makes packet retrieval absolutely
robust for me.
The chip's documentation suggests auto-dequeuing and uses the RRXEF
flag only to dequeue error frames which the driver doesn't want to
retrieve. But that seems to be a fair-weather approach.

[ Upstream commit bb9e5c5bcd76f4474eac3baf643d7a39f7bac7bb ]
The bug that Stan reported is as follows. After a restart, a 16-bit NIC
may be incorrectly identified as a 32-bit NIC and stop working.
mac8390 slot.E: Memory length resource not found, probing
mac8390 slot.E: Farallon EtherMac II-C (type farallon)
mac8390 slot.E: MAC 00:00:c5:30:c2:99, IRQ 61, 32 KB shared memory at 0xfeed0000, 32-bit access.
The bug never arises after a cold start and only intermittently after a
warm start. (I didn't investigate why the bug is intermittent.)
It turns out that memcpy_toio() is deprecated and memcmp_withio() also
has issues. Replacing these calls with mmio accessors fixes the problem.

This is likely a platform bug that device isn't fully quiesced during
S3. Use MSI-X, maskable MSI or INTx can prevent this issue from
happening.
Since MSI-X and maskable MSI are not supported by this device, fallback
to use INTx on affected platforms.

Broadcom STB chips support a deep sleep mode where all register
contents are lost. Because we were stashing the MagicPacket password
into some of these registers a suspend into that deep sleep then a
resumption would not lead to being able to wake-up from MagicPacket with
password again.
Fix this by keeping a software copy of the password and program it
during suspend.

Commit 33a48ab105a7 ("ibmveth: Fix DMA unmap error") fixed an issue in the
normal code path of ibmveth_xmit_start() that was originally introduced by
Commit 6e8ab30ec677 ("ibmveth: Add scatter-gather support"). This original
fix missed the error path where dma_unmap_page is wrongly called on the
header portion in descs[0] which was mapped with dma_map_single. As a
result a failure to DMA map any of the frags results in a dmesg warning
when CONFIG_DMA_API_DEBUG is enabled.

It's not the same as in 7fe0ee09 patch described.
As 8139cp uses shared irq mode, other device irq will trigger
cp_interrupt to execute.
cp_change_mtu
-> cp_close
-> cp_open
In cp_close routine just before free_irq(), some interrupt may occur.
In my environment, cp_interrupt exectutes and IntrStatus is 0x4,
exactly TxOk. That will cause cp_tx to wake device queue.
As device queue is started, cp_start_xmit and cp_open will run at same
time which will cause kernel BUG.
For example:
[#] for tx descriptor
At start:
[#][#][#]
num_queued=3
After cp_init_hw->cp_start_hw->netdev_reset_queue:
[#][#][#]
num_queued=0
When 8139cp starts to work then cp_tx will check
num_queued mismatchs the complete_bytes.
The patch will check IntrMask before check IntrStatus in cp_interrupt.
When 8139cp interrupt is disabled, just return.

interrupts
[ Upstream commit 426a593e641ebf0d9288f0a2fcab644a86820220 ]
In the original ftmac100_interrupt(), the interrupts are only disabled when
the condition "netif_running(netdev)" is true. However, this condition
causes kerenl hang in the following case. When the user requests to
disable the network device, kernel will clear the bit __LINK_STATE_START
from the dev->state and then call the driver's ndo_stop function. Network
device interrupts are not blocked during this process. If an interrupt
occurs between clearing __LINK_STATE_START and stopping network device,
kernel cannot disable the interrupts due to the condition
"netif_running(netdev)" in the ISR. Hence, kernel will hang due to the
continuous interruption of the network device.
In order to solve the above problem, the interrupts of the network device
should always be disabled in the ISR without being restricted by the
condition "netif_running(netdev)".

[ Upstream commit bd85fbc2038a1bbe84990b23ff69b6fc81a32b2c ]
When re-registering a user mr, the mpt information for the
existing mr when running SRIOV is obtained via the QUERY_MPT
fw command. The returned information includes the mpt's lkey.
This retrieved mpt information is used to move the mpt back
to hardware ownership in the rereg flow (via the SW2HW_MPT
fw command when running SRIOV).
The fw API spec states that for SW2HW_MPT, the lkey field
must be zero. Any ConnectX-3 PF driver which checks for strict spec
adherence will return failure for SW2HW_MPT if the lkey field is not
zero (although the fw in practice ignores this field for SW2HW_MPT).
Thus, in order to conform to the fw API spec, set the lkey field to zero
before invoking SW2HW_MPT when running SRIOV.

Clang currently warns:
drivers/net/ethernet/qlogic/qla3xxx.c:384:24: warning: signed shift
result (0xF00000000) requires 37 bits to represent, but 'int' only has
32 bits [-Wshift-overflow]
((ISP_NVRAM_MASK << 16) | qdev->eeprom_cmd_data));
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ^ ~~
1 warning generated.
The warning is certainly accurate since ISP_NVRAM_MASK is defined as
(0x000F << 16) which is then shifted by 16, resulting in 64424509440,
well above UINT_MAX.
Given that this is the only location in this driver where ISP_NVRAM_MASK
is shifted again, it seems likely that ISP_NVRAM_MASK was originally
defined without a shift and during the move of the shift to the
definition, this statement wasn't properly removed (since ISP_NVRAM_MASK
is used in the statenent right above this). Only the maintainers can
confirm this since this statment has been here since the driver was
first added to the kernel.
rtl_rx() and rtl_tx() are called only if the respective bits are set
in the interrupt status register. Under high load NAPI may not be
able to process all data (work_done == budget) and it will schedule
subsequent calls to the poll callback.
rtl_ack_events() however resets the bits in the interrupt status
register, therefore subsequent calls to rtl8169_poll() won't call
rtl_rx() and rtl_tx() - chip interrupts are still disabled.
Fix this by calling rtl_rx() and rtl_tx() independent of the bits
set in the interrupt status register. Both functions will detect
if there's nothing to do for them.
When building stmmac, it is only possible to select CONFIG_DWMAC_GENERIC,
or any of the glue drivers, when CONFIG_STMMAC_PLATFORM is set.
The only exception is CONFIG_STMMAC_PCI.
When calling of_mdiobus_register(), it will call our ->reset()
callback, which is set to stmmac_mdio_reset().
Most of the code in stmmac_mdio_reset() is protected by a
"#if defined(CONFIG_STMMAC_PLATFORM)", which will evaluate
to false when CONFIG_STMMAC_PLATFORM=m.
Because of this, the phy reset gpio will only be pulled when
stmmac is built as built-in, but not when built as modules.
Fix this by using "#if IS_ENABLED()" instead of "#if defined()".
[ Upstream commit be06998f96ecb93938ad2cce46c4289bf7cf45bc ]
The combined effect of commits 6423fc3416 ("igb: do not re-init SR-IOV
during probe") and ceee3450b3 ("igb: make sure SR-IOV init uses the
right number of queues") causes VFs no longer getting set up, leading
to NULL pointer dereferences due to the adapter's ->vf_data being NULL
while ->vfs_allocated_count is non-zero. The first commit not only
neglected the side effect of igb_sriov_reinit() that the second commit
tried to account for, but also that of setting IGB_FLAG_HAS_MSIX,
without which igb_enable_sriov() is effectively a no-op. Calling
igb_{,re}set_interrupt_capability() as done here seems to address this,
but I'm not sure whether this is better than sinply reverting the other
two commits.
[ Upstream commit a96d3b7593a3eefab62dd930e5c99201c3678ee4 ]
Commit b5a099c67a1c36b "net: ethernet: davicom: fix devicetree irq
resource" causes an interrupt storm after the ethernet interface
is activated on S3C24XX platform (ARM non-dt), due to the interrupt
trigger type not being set properly.
It seems, after adding parsing of IRQ flags in commit 7085a7401ba54e92b
"drivers: platform: parse IRQ flags from resources", there is no path
for non-dt platforms where irq_set_type callback could be invoked when
we don't pass the trigger type flags to the request_irq() call.
In case of a board where the regression is seen the interrupt trigger
type flags are passed through a platform device's resource and it is
not currently handled properly without passing the irq trigger type
flags to the request_irq() call. In case of OF an of_irq_get() call
within platform_get_irq() function seems to be ensuring required irq_chip
setup, but there is no equivalent code for non OF/ACPI platforms.
This patch mostly restores irq trigger type setting code which has been
removed in commit ("net: ethernet: davicom: fix devicetree irq resource").
[ Upstream commit b5a099c67a1c36b91356624ce86eb3f9f48a82c7 ]
The dm9000 driver doesn't work in at least one device-tree
configuration, spitting an error message on irq resource :
[ 1.062495] dm9000 8000000.ethernet: insufficient resources
[ 1.068439] dm9000 8000000.ethernet: not found (-2).
[ 1.073451] dm9000: probe of 8000000.ethernet failed with error -2
The reason behind is that the interrupt might be provided by a gpio
controller, not probed when dm9000 is probed, and needing the probe
deferral mechanism to apply.
Currently, the interrupt is directly taken from resources. This patch
changes this to use the more generic platform_get_irq(), which handles
the deferral.
Moreover, since commit Fixes: 7085a7401ba5 ("drivers: platform: parse
IRQ flags from resources"), the interrupt trigger flags are honored in
platform_get_irq(), so remove the needless code in dm9000.
[ Upstream commit 2c05d88818ab6571816b93edce4d53703870d7ae ]
In cxgb_extension_ioctl(), the command of the ioctl is firstly copied from
the user-space buffer 'useraddr' to 'cmd' and checked through the
switch statement. If the command is not as expected, an error code
EOPNOTSUPP is returned. In the following execution, i.e., the cases of the
switch statement, the whole buffer of 'useraddr' is copied again to a
specific data structure, according to what kind of command is requested.
However, after the second copy, there is no re-check on the newly-copied
command. Given that the buffer 'useraddr' is in the user space, a malicious
user can race to change the command between the two copies. By doing so,
the attacker can supply malicious data to the kernel and cause undefined
behavior.
This patch adds a re-check in each case of the switch statement if there is
a second copy in that case, to re-check whether the command obtained in the
second copy is the same as the one in the first copy. If not, an error code
EINVAL is returned.
[ Upstream commit 45ec318578c0c22a11f5b9927d064418e1ab1905 ]
The AON_PM_L2 is normally used to trigger and identify the source of a
wake-up event. Since the RX_SYS clock is no longer turned off, we also
have an interrupt being sent to the SYSTEMPORT INTRL_2_0 controller, and
that interrupt remains active up until the magic packet detector is
disabled which happens much later during the driver resumption.
The race happens if we have a CPU that is entering the SYSTEMPORT
INTRL2_0 handler during resume, and another CPU has managed to clear the
wake-up interrupt during bcm_sysport_resume_from_wol(). In that case, we
have the first CPU stuck in the interrupt handler with an interrupt
cause that has been cleared under its feet, and so we keep returning
IRQ_NONE and we never make any progress.
This was not a problem before because we would always turn off the
RX_SYS clock during WoL, so the SYSTEMPORT INTRL2_0 would also be turned
off as well, thus not latching the interrupt.
The fix is to make sure we do not enable either the MPD or
BRCM_TAG_MATCH interrupts since those are redundant with what the
AON_PM_L2 interrupt controller already processes and they would cause
such a race to occur.
When offloading the L3 and L4 csum computation on TX, we need to extract
the l3_proto from the ethtype, independently of the presence of a vlan
tag.
The actual driver uses skb->protocol as-is, resulting in packets with
the wrong L4 checksum being sent when there's a vlan tag in the packet
header and checksum offloading is enabled.
This commit makes use of vlan_protocol_get() to get the correct ethtype
regardless the presence of a vlan tag.
In regular NIC transmission flow, driver always configures MAC using
Tx queue zero descriptor as a part of MAC learning flow.
But with multi Tx queue supported NIC, regular transmission can occur on
any non-zero Tx queue and from that context it uses
Tx queue zero descriptor to configure MAC, at the same time TX queue
zero could be used by another CPU for regular transmission
which could lead to Tx queue zero descriptor corruption and cause FW
abort.
This patch fixes this in such a way that driver always configures
learned MAC address from the same Tx queue which is used for
regular transmission.
After system suspend, sometimes the r8169 doesn't work when ethernet
cable gets pluggued.
This issue happens because rtl_reset_work() doesn't get called from
rtl8169_runtime_resume(), after system suspend.
In rtl_task(), RTL_FLAG_TASK_* only gets cleared if this condition is
met:
if (!netif_running(dev) ||
!test_bit(RTL_FLAG_TASK_ENABLED, tp->wk.flags))
...
If RTL_FLAG_TASK_ENABLED was cleared during system suspend while
RTL_FLAG_TASK_RESET_PENDING was set, the next rtl_schedule_task() won't
schedule task as the flag is still there.
So in addition to clearing RTL_FLAG_TASK_ENABLED, also clears other
flags.
