* net: phy: Convert some PHY and MDIO driver files to SPDX headersAndrew Lunn2019-01-221-4/+1
| | | | | | | | Where the license text and the MODULE_LICENSE() value agree, convert to using an SPDX header, removing the license text. Signed-off-by: Andrew Lunn <andrew@lunn.ch> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* net: phy: mdio-mux: slience probe defer errorJerome Brunet2018-03-071-2/+3
| | | | | | | | | If we fail to register the mdio bus due to probe defer, we should not print an error message. Just be silent in this case. Signed-off-by: Jerome Brunet <jbrunet@baylibre.com> Reviewed-by: Andrew Lunn <andrew@lunn.ch> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* net: mdio-mux: add mdio_mux parameter to mdio_mux_init()Corentin Labbe2017-09-051-1/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | mdio_mux_init() use the parameter dev for two distinct thing: 1) Have a device for all devm_ functions 2) Get device_node from it Since it is two distinct purpose, this patch add a parameter mdio_mux that is linked to task 2. This will also permit to register an of_node mdio-mux that lacks a direct owning device. For example a mdio-mux which is a subnode of a real device. * net: Convert to using %pOF instead of full_nameRob Herring2017-07-241-9/+9
| | | | | | | | | Now that we have a custom printf format specifier, convert users of full_name to use %pOF instead. This is preparation to remove storing of the full path string for each node. Signed-off-by: Rob Herring <robh@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* net: mdio-mux-mmioreg: Add support for 16bit and 32bit register sizesNeil Armstrong2016-11-091-13/+47
| | | | | | | | | | In order to support PHY switching on Amlogic GXL SoCs, add support for 16bit and 32bit registers sizes. * mdio: mux: Enhanced MDIO mux framework for integrated multiplexersPramod Kumar2016-06-101-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | An integrated multiplexer uses same address space for "muxed bus selection" and "generation of mdio transaction" hence its good to register parent bus from mux driver. Hence added a mechanism where mux driver could register a parent bus and pass it down to framework via mdio_mux_init api. * net: phy: mdio: add missing of_node_putJulia Lawall2015-10-261-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | for_each_available_child_of_node performs an of_node_get on each iteration, so a break out of the loop requires an of_node_put. A simplified version of the semantic patch that fixes this problem is as follows (http://coccinelle.lip6.fr): // <smpl> @@ expression root,e; local idexpression child; @@ for_each_available_child_of_node(root, child) { ... when != of_node_put(child) when != e = child ( return child; | + of_node_put(child); ? return ...; ) ... } // </smpl> Signed-off-by: Julia Lawall <Julia.Lawall@lip6.fr> Signed-off-by: David S. * drivers/net: delete non-required instances of include <linux/init.h>Paul Gortmaker2014-01-161-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | None of these files are actually using any __init type directives and hence don't need to include <linux/init.h>. Most are just a left over from __devinit and __cpuinit removal, or simply due to code getting copied from one driver to the next. This covers everything under drivers/net except for wireless, which has been submitted separately. Signed-off-by: Paul Gortmaker <paul.gortmaker@windriver.com> Signed-off-by: David S. * netdev/phy: add MDIO bus multiplexer driven by a memory-mapped deviceTimur Tabi2012-08-301-0/+170
Add support for an MDIO bus multiplexer controlled by a simple memory-mapped device, like an FPGA. The device must be memory-mapped and contain only 8-bit registers (which keeps things simple). Tested on a Freescale P5020DS board which uses the "PIXIS" FPGA attached to the localbus. Signed-off-by: Timur Tabi <timur@freescale.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
