commit ffa216bb5eecfce0f01b0b2a95d5c320dde90005 upstream.
brcmfmac has been broken on my cubietruck with a BCM43362:
brcmfmac: brcmf_chip_recognition: found AXI chip: BCM43362, rev=1
brcmfmac: brcmf_c_preinit_dcmds: Firmware version = wl0:
Apr 22 2013 14:50:00 version 5.90.195.89.6 FWID 01-b30a427d
since commit 53036261033: "brcmfmac: update core reset and disable routines".
The problem is that since this commit brcmf_chip_ai_resetcore no longer sets
BCMA_IOCTL itself before bringing the core out of reset, instead relying on
brcmf_chip_ai_coredisable to do so. But brcmf_chip_ai_coredisable is a nop
of the chip is already in reset. This patch modifies brcmf_chip_ai_coredisable
to always set BCMA_IOCTL even if the core is already in reset.
This fixes brcmfmac hanging in firmware loading on my board.

commit bc82878baa10c2a6a4a6affaf52c152935112142 upstream.
Commit eb17711bc1d6 ("net/mlx4_core: Introduce nic_info new flag in

if (func_cap->flags1 & QUERY_FUNC_CAP_FLAGS1_OFFSET) {
which should be:
if (func_cap->flags1 & QUERY_FUNC_CAP_FLAGS1_FORCE_VLAN) {
Fix that.

commit 2fc68eb122c7ea6cd5be1fe7d6650c0beb2f4f40 upstream.
Support for firmware rev 508+ was added years ago, but we never noticed
it reports channel in a different way for G-PHY devices. Instead of
offset from 2400 MHz it simply passes channel id (AKA hw_value).
So far it was (most probably) affecting monitor mode users only, but
the following recent commit made it noticeable for quite everybody:

commit b91113282bf44df46aba374a0b8f88a75bfd4b3f upstream.
If the mdio probe function fails in emac_open, the interrupt we just requested
isn't freed. If emac_open is called again, for example because we try to set up
the interface again, the kernel will oops because the interrupt wasn't properly
released.

commit 616a8394b5df8c88f4dd416f4527439a4e365034 upstream.
As reported by Niels, starting rfkill polling during device probe
(commit e2bc7c5, generally sane change) broke rfkill on rt2500pci
device. I considered that bug as some initalization issue, which
should be fixed on rt2500pci specific code. But after several
attempts (see bug report for details) we fail to find working solution.
Hence I decided to revert to old behaviour on rt2500pci to fix
regression.
Additionally patch also unregister rfkill on device remove instead
of ifconfig down, what was another issue introduced by bad commit.

commit 0b5a958cf4df3a5cd578b861471e62138f55c85e upstream.
As remarked by Christopher R. Baker in his post at
http://marc.info/?l=linux-can&m=139707295706465&w=2
there's a possibility for an use after free condition at device removal.
This simplified patch introduces an additional variable to prevent the issue.
Thanks for catching this.

commit 59993f48b38fd46863b23bb1bb1dc3291e7278fb upstream.
This reverts commit f8d56d8f892be43a2404356073e16401eb5a42e6 ("net:
eth: cpsw: Correctly attach to GPIO bitbang MDIO driver").
Fix potential null-pointer dereference at probe if the mdio-gpio device
has not been successfully probed yet.
The offending commit is plain wrong for a number of reasons. First of
all it accesses internal driver data of an unrelated device. Neither
does it check that the data is non-null (which it is in case the device
has not been probed yet).
Furthermore, the decision on whether to treat any driver data according
to the mdio-gpio driver's internals is made based on the node name. But
the name is not compared against "mdio" which is the normal name for the
node, but rather against "gpio" which the node does not have to be named
(and shouldn't be according to the binding documentation). [ If this
hack is to be kept out-of-tree it should at least be matching against
the compatible property. ]

[ Upstream commit da1de8dfff09d33d4a5345762c21b487028e25f5 ]
Following commit befdf89 "net/mlx4_core: Preserve pci_dev_data after
__mlx4_remove_one()", there are two mlx4 pci callbacks which will
attempt to release the mlx4_priv object -- .shutdown and .remove.
This leads to a use-after-free access to the already freed mlx4_priv
instance and trigger a "Kernel access of bad area" crash when both
.shutdown and .remove are called.
During reboot or kexec, .shutdown is called, with the VFs probed to
the host going through shutdown first and then the PF. Later, the PF
will trigger VFs' .remove since VFs still have driver attached.
Fix that by keeping only one driver entry which releases mlx4_priv.

pci_match_id() just match the static pci_device_id, which may return NULL if
someone binds the driver to a device manually using
/sys/bus/pci/drivers/.../new_id.
This patch wrap up a helper function __mlx4_remove_one() which does the tear
down function but preserve the drv_data. Functions like
mlx4_pci_err_detected() and mlx4_restart_one() will call this one with out
releasing drvdata.

[ Upstream commit 2853af6a2ea1a8ed09b09dd4fb578e7f435e8d34 ]
When we mirror packets from a vxlan tunnel to other device,
the mirror device should see the same packets (that is, without
outer header). Because vxlan tunnel sets dev->hard_header_len,
tcf_mirred() resets mac header back to outer mac, the mirror device
actually sees packets with outer headers
Vxlan tunnel should set dev->needed_headroom instead of
dev->hard_header_len, like what other ip tunnels do. This fixes
the above problem.

[ Upstream commit daf37b556e437ec1ea1a597dcfeff338068380e1 ]
Fixes:ee45fd92c739
("sfc: Use TX PIO for sufficiently small packets")
The linux net driver uses memcpy_toio() in order to copy into
the PIO buffers.
Even on a 64bit machine this causes 32bit accesses to a write-
combined memory region.
There are hardware limitations that mean that only 64bit
naturally aligned accesses are safe in all cases.
Due to being write-combined memory region two 32bit accesses
may be coalesced to form a 64bit non 64bit aligned access.
Solution was to open-code the memory copy routines using pointers
and to only enable PIO for x86_64 machines.
Not tested on platforms other than x86_64 because this patch
disables the PIO feature on other platforms.
Compile-tested on x86 to ensure that works.
The WARN_ON_ONCE() code in the previous version of this patch
has been moved into the internal sfc debug driver as the
assertion was unnecessary in the upstream kernel code.
This bug fix applies to v3.13 and v3.14 stable branches.

[ Upstream commit 530aa2d0d9d55ab2775d47621ddf4b5b15bc1110 ]
The current behaviour of the sh_eth driver is not to use the RNC bit
for the receive ring. This means that every packet recieved is not only
generating an IRQ but it also stops the receive ring DMA as well until
the driver re-enables it after unloading the packet.
This means that a number of the following errors are generated due to
the receive packet FIFO overflowing due to nowhere to put packets:
net eth0: Receive FIFO Overflow
Since feedback from Yoshihiro Shimoda shows that every supported LSI
for this driver should have the bit enabled it seems the best way is
to remove the RMCR default value from the per-system data and just
write it when initialising the RMCR value. This is discussed in
the message (http://www.spinics.net/lists/netdev/msg284912.html).
I have tested the RMCR_RNC configuration with NFS root filesystem and
the driver has not failed yet. There are further test reports from
Sergei Shtylov and others for both the R8A7790 and R8A7791.
There is also feedback fron Cao Minh Hiep[1] which reports the
same issue in (http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.linux.network/316285)
showing this fixes issues with losing UDP datagrams under iperf.

Now it is not possible to set mtu to team device which has a port
enslaved to it. The reason is that when team_change_mtu() calls

the change. So fix this by returning NOTIFY_DONE here in case team is

While at it make sure any clearing of the per rate stats will get logged.

commit 83f7a85f1134c6e914453f5747435415a23d516b upstream.
In case RFKILL is in KILL position, the NIC will issue an
interrupt straight away. This interrupt won't be sent
because it is masked in the hardware.
But if our interrupt service routine is called for another
reason (SHARED_IRQ), then we'll look at the interrupt cause
and service it. This can cause bad things if we are not
ready yet.
Explicitly clean the interrupt cause register to make sure
we won't service anything before we are ready to.

commit b20a774495671f037e7160ea2ce8789af6b61533 upstream.
In commit da1e2046e5, the flow for enabling/disabling an Si errata
workaround (e1000_lv_jumbo_workaround_ich8lan) was changed to fix a problem
with iAMT connections dropping on interface down with jumbo frames set.
Part of this change was to move the function call disabling the workaround
to e1000e_down() from the e1000_setup_rctl() function. The mechanic for
disabling of this workaround involves writing several MAC and PHY registers
back to hardware defaults.
After this commit, when the driver is loaded with the cable out, the PHY
registers are not programmed with the correct default values. This causes
the device to be capable of transmitting packets, but is unable to recieve
them until this workaround is called.
The flow of e1000e's open code relies upon calling the above workaround to
expicitly program these registers either with jumbo frame appropriate settings
or h/w defaults on 82579 and newer hardware.
Fix this issue by adding logic to e1000_setup_rctl() that not only calls
e1000_lv_jumbo_workaround_ich8lan() when jumbo frames are set, to enable the
workaround, but also calls this function to explicitly disable the workaround
in the case that jumbo frames are not set.

commit 8fc1e8c240aab968db658b2d8d079b4391207a36 upstream.
When brcm80211 firmware is not installed networking hangs.
A deadlock happens because we call ieee80211_unregister_hw()
from the .start callback of struct ieee80211_ops. When .start
is called we are under rtnl lock and ieee80211_unregister_hw()
tries to take it again.
Function call stack:
dev_change_flags()
__dev_change_flags()
__dev_open()
ASSERT_RTNL() <-- Assert rtnl lock
ops->ndo_open()
.ndo_open = ieee80211_open,
ieee80211_open()
ieee80211_do_open()
drv_start()
local->ops->start()
.start = brcms_ops_start,
brcms_ops_start()
brcms_remove()
ieee80211_unregister_hw()
rtnl_lock() <-- Here we deadlock
Introduced by:
commit 25b5632fb35ca61b8ae3eee235edcdc2883f7a5e
("brcmsmac: request firmware in .start() callback")
This patch fixes the bug by removing the call to brcms_remove()
and moves the brcms_request_fw() call to the top of the .start
callback to not initiate anything unless firmware is installed.

commit b709323d2477614823a38c2f2a9a206e087e28fc upstream.
Prior to cd14ef54d25 (igb: Change to use statically allocated array for
MSIx entries), having msix_entries different from NULL was an indicator
that MSIX is enabled.
In igb_set_interrupt_capabiliy we may fall back to MSI-only. Prior to
the above patch msix_entries was set to NULL by
igb_reset_interrupt_capability.
However, now we are checking the flag for IGB_FLAG_HAS_MSIX and so the
stack gets completly confused:

commit cb06d102327eadcd1bdc480bfd9f8876251d1007 upstream.
When igb_set_interrupt_capability() calls
igb_reset_interrupt_capability() (e.g., because CONFIG_PCI_MSI is unset),
num_q_vectors has been set but no vector has yet been allocated.
igb_reset_interrupt_capability() will then call igb_reset_q_vector,
which assumes that the vector is allocated. As this is not the case, we
are accessing a NULL-pointer.
This patch fixes it by checking that q_vector is indeed different from
NULL.

commit c243e96335c56e56dcf6a00593104554fb06b689 upstream.
If "vf_id" is smaller than hw->func_caps.vf_base_id then it leads to
an array underflow of the pf->vf[] array. This is unlikely to happen
unless the hardware is bad, but it's a small change and it silences a
static checker warning.

commit 0229cdafb6f67064a217591d48b0f6abf14e8385 upstream.
If we have no beacon data before association, delay smart FIFO
enablement until after we have this data.
Not doing so can cause association failures in extremely silent
environments (usually only a shielded box/room) as beacon RX is
not sent to the host immediately, and then the association time
event ends without the host receiving any beacon even though it
was on the air - it's just stuck on the FIFO.

commit 87d5e4155c0088e6766b4f0193b63fa0eab71220 upstream.
After being idle for a long time (>5sec) the rs statistics
will be stale so we prefer to reset rs and start from legacy
rates again. This gives better results when the attenuation
increased signficantly (e.g. we got further from the AP) and
after a while we start Tx
Note that the first Tx after the idle period will still go out
in the old modulation and rate but this seemed a simpler approach
compared to adding a timer or modifying mac80211 for this.
The negative impact is negligble as we'll recover quickly.

commit e53839eb9882c99d3781eab0fe1b2d4369a6a2cc upstream.
Change the down/upscale decision logic a bit to be based
on different success ratio thresholds. This fixes the implementation
compared to the rate scale algorithm which was planned to yield
optimal results. Also fix a case where a lower rate wasn't explored
despite being a potential for better throughput.
While at it rewrite rs_get_rate_action to be more clear and clean.

commit fd7dbee51b3d98402edb11fec0c93d96476e0ae1 upstream.
Allow switching back to legacy Tx columns so we'll stop doing
HT/VHT in case we're far from the AP. Stop active aggregation when
making a deciding to stay in a legacy column.
Despite having low legacy rates in the LQ table lower entries
it doesn't help much in case we're doing aggregations as the
aggregation was being transmitted in the initial rate of the table.
This should help traffic stalls when far from the AP.

After the call to phy_init_hw failed in phy_attach_direct, phy_detach is called

If the sfc driver is in legacy interrupt mode (either explicitly by
using interrupt_mode module param or by falling back to it) it will
hit a warning at kernel/irq/manage.c because it will try to free an irq
which wasn't allocated by it in the first place because the MSI(X) irqs are
zero and it'll try to free them unconditionally. So fix it by checking if
we're in legacy mode and freeing the appropriate irqs.

This driver maps 802.1q VLANs to MBIM sessions. The mapping is based on
a bogus assumption that all tagged frames will use the acceleration API
because we enable NETIF_F_HW_VLAN_CTAG_TX. This fails for e.g. frames
tagged in userspace using packet sockets. Such frames will erroneously
be considered as untagged and silently dropped based on not being IP.
Fix by falling back to looking into the ethernet header for a tag if no
accelerated tag was found.

Commit 4d619f625a60 ("net: cdc_ncm: no point in filling up the NTBs
if we send ZLPs") changed the padding logic for devices with the ZLP
flag set. This meant that frames of any size will be sent without
additional padding, except for the single byte added if the size is
a multiple of the USB packet size. But if the unpadded size is
identical to the maximum frame size, and the maximum size is a
multiplum of the USB packet size, then this one-byte padding will
overflow the buffer.
Prevent padding if already at maximum frame size, letting usbnet
transmit a ZLP instead in this case.
