Replace the deprecated wrapper with a direct call to the real function. The same also applies to get_random_int(), which is just a wrapper around get_random_u32(). This was done as a basic find and replace. I'm providing a link to the previous email thread for reference, which discusses some related problems. To solve the dependency issue better than the 'imply' keyword, introduce a separate Kconfig symbol "CONFIG_PTP_1588_CLOCK_OPTIONAL" that any driver can depend on if it is able to use PTP support when available, but works fine without it. Whenever CONFIG_PTP_1588_CLOCK=m, those drivers are then prevented from being built-in, the same way as with a 'depends on PTP_1588_CLOCK || !PTP_1588_CLOCK' dependency that does the same trick, but that can be rather confusing when you first see it. Since this should cover the dependencies correctly, the IS_REACHABLE() hack in the header is no longer needed now, and can be turned back into a normal IS_ENABLED() check. Any driver that gets the dependency wrong will now cause a link time failure rather than being unable to use PTP support when that is in a loadable module. However, the two recently added ptp_get_vclocks_index() and ptp_convert_timestamp() interfaces are only called from builtin code with ethtool and socket timestamps, so keep the current behavior by stubbing those out completely when PTP is in a loadable module. This should be addressed properly in a follow-up. As Richard suggested, we may want to actually turn PTP support into a 'bool' option later on, preventing it from being a loadable module altogether, which would be one way to solve the problem with the ethtool interface. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | During ep_disconnect we have been doing iscsi_suspend_tx/queue to block new I/O but every driver except cxgbi and iscsi_tcp can still get I/O from __iscsi_conn_send_pdu() if we haven't called iscsi_conn_failure() before ep_disconnect. This could happen if we were terminating the session, and the logout timed out before it was even sent to libiscsi. Fix the issue by adding a helper which reverses the bind_conn call that allows new I/O to be queued. Drivers implementing ep_disconnect can use this to make sure new I/O is not queued to them when handling the disconnect. Following discussion on linux-next, we believe our version to be more accurate than the one in the tree, so the resolution is to take our version for all the SPDX conflicts" Note on the SPDX license tag conversion conflicts: the SCSI tree had done its own SPDX conversion, which in some cases conflicted with the treewide ones done by Thomas & co. In almost all cases, the conflicts were purely syntactic: the SCSI tree used the old-style SPDX tags ("GPL-2.0" and "GPL-2.0+") while the treewide conversion had used the new-style ones ("GPL-2.0-only" and "GPL-2.0-or-later"). In these cases I picked the new-style one. In a few cases, the SPDX conversion was actually different, though. As explained by James above, and in more detail in a pre-pull-request thread: "The other problem is actually substantive: In the libsas code Luben Tuikov originally specified gpl 2.0 only by dint of stating: * This file is licensed under GPLv2. In all the libsas files, but then muddied the water by quoting GPLv2 verbatim (which includes the or later than language). So for these files Christoph did the conversion to v2 only SPDX tags and Thomas converted to v2 or later tags" So in those cases, where the spdx tag substantially mattered, I took the SCSI tree conversion of it, but then also took the opportunity to turn the old-style "GPL-2.0" into a new-style "GPL-2.0-only" tag. Similarly, when there were whitespace differences or other differences to the comments around the copyright notices, I took the version from the SCSI tree as being the more specific conversion. Finally, in the spdx conversions that had no conflicts (because the treewide ones hadn't been done for those files), I just took the SCSI tree version as-is, even if it was old-style.
