| * bus: Make remove callback return voidUwe Kleine-König2021-07-211-3/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The driver core ignores the return value of this callback because there is only little it can do when a device disappears. This is the final bit of a long lasting cleanup quest where several buses were converted to also return void from their remove callback. Additionally some resource leaks were fixed that were caused by drivers returning an error code in the expectation that the driver won't go away. With struct bus_type::remove returning void it's prevented that newly implemented buses return an ignored error code and so don't anticipate wrong expectations for driver authors. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | During suspend/resume NGD remote instance is power cycled along with remotely controlled bam dma engine. So Reset the dma configuration during this suspend resume path so that we are not dealing with any stale dma setup. Without this transactions timeout after first suspend resume path. * | slimbus: messaging: check for valid transaction idSrinivas Kandagatla2021-08-131-2/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | In some usecases transaction ids are dynamically allocated inside the controller driver after sending the messages which have generic acknowledge responses. So check for this before refcounting pm_runtime. Without this we would end up imbalancing runtime pm count by doing pm_runtime_put() in both slim_do_transfer() and slim_msg_response() for a single pm_runtime_get() in slim_do_transfer() Fixes: d3062a210930 ("slimbus: messaging: add slim_alloc/free_txn_tid()") Cc: <stable@vger.kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Srinivas Kandagatla <srinivas.kandagatla@linaro.org> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20210809082428.11236-3-srinivas.kandagatla@linaro.org Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>

|/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | As tid is unsigned its hard to figure out if the tid is valid or invalid. So Start the transaction ids from 1 instead of zero so that we could differentiate between a valid tid and invalid tids This is useful in cases where controller would add a tid for controller specific transfers. * slimbus: fix kerneldoc commentsJonathan Corbet2019-06-101-6/+6
| | | | | | | | | | The kerneldoc comments in drivers/slimbus/stream.c were not properly formatted, leading to a distinctly unsatisfying "no structured comments found" warning in the docs build. Sprinkle some asterisks around so that the comments will be properly recognized. Signed-off-by: Jonathan Corbet <corbet@lwn.net> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
* slimbus: fix a potential NULL pointer dereference in of_qcom_slim_ngd_registerKangjie Lu2019-04-251-0/+4
| | | | | | | | | In case platform_device_alloc fails, the fix returns an error code to avoid the NULL pointer dereference. Signed-off-by: Kangjie Lu <kjlu@umn.edu> Signed-off-by: Srinivas Kandagatla <srinivas.kandagatla@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
* slimbus: core: add missing spin_lock_init on txn_lockSrinivas Kandagatla2019-01-221-0/+1
| | | | | | | | Add missing spin lock intialization this also fixes the spinlock bad magic warning. Signed-off-by: Srinivas Kandagatla <srinivas.kandagatla@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
* slimbus: core: use slim_device_update_status() to update statusSrinivas Kandagatla2019-01-221-19/+18
| | | | | | | | | use slim_device_update_status() instead of directly calling the device_status() callback. Move slim_device_update_status() before probe to avoid forward declaration too. Signed-off-by: Srinivas Kandagatla <srinivas.kandagatla@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
* slimbus: core: do not call device_status under a lockSrinivas Kandagatla2019-01-221-0/+3
| | | | | | | | | Calling device_status callback under a lock would prevent drivers to do any slimbus trasactions which would invoke this lock like get_laddr(). Remove this unnecessary lock! * slimbus: core: match full device idSrinivas Kandagatla2019-01-221-1/+3
| | | | | | | | match full slim device id instead of just product and manufacture code, this will allow drivers to be much more specific to that device. Signed-off-by: Srinivas Kandagatla <srinivas.kandagatla@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
* slimbus: ngd: fix spelling mistake "exeeds" -> "exceeds"Colin Ian King2018-12-061-1/+1

* slimbus: qcom-ctrl: simplify getting .driver_dataWolfram Sang2018-12-061-4/+2
| | | | | | | | | We should get 'driver_data' from 'struct device' directly. Going via platform_device is an unneeded step back and forth. * slimbus: ngd: QCOM_QMI_HELPERS has to be selectedNiklas Cassel2018-11-271-2/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | QCOM_QMI_HELPERS is a hidden kconfig, so the proper usage is to select it, not depend upon it. Because of this change, we now also need to depend on the same Kconfigs as QCOM_QMI_HELPERS depends on. * slimbus: ngd: Fix build error on x86Srinivas Kandagatla2018-11-271-2/+3
| | | | | | | | | | on non DT platforms like x86 of_match_node is set to NULL, dereferencing directly would throw an error. Fix this by doing this in two steps, get the match then the data. * slimbus: ngd: remove unnecessary checkSrinivas Kandagatla2018-11-072-9/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | SLIM_MSG_CLK_PAUSE_SEQ_FLG is never set in any of the slim core, so performing a check in ngd driver is totally unnecessary. Also this patch fixes warning about mc field overflow reported with CoverityScan. Making clk pause feature optional will be added to slim core in next development cycle. * slimbus: core: update device status in probeSrinivas Kandagatla2018-09-251-1/+16
| | | | | | | | | | | device status update can be racy with probe in some cases, so make sure it take lock during the probe. Also after probe the device is expected to be ready for communications, so make sure that a logical address can be assigned to it after probe. If it fails to do so then probe defer such instances. * slimbus: core: match device tree based devices correctlySrinivas Kandagatla2018-09-251-1/+5
| | | | | | | | | | device_id for device tree based devices come from dt compatible string, such drivers need not provide non dt style device id table. Match those device using compatible strings. * silmbus: ngd: register controller after power up.Srinivas Kandagatla2018-09-251-9/+11

* slimbus: ngd: mark PM functions as __maybe_unusedArnd Bergmann2018-09-141-4/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | qcom_slim_ngd_runtime_suspend is protected by an #ifdef, qcom_slim_ngd_runtime_idle is now, which causes a build time warning: drivers/slimbus/qcom-ngd-ctrl.c:1470:12: error: 'qcom_slim_ngd_runtime_idle' defined but not used [-Werror=unused-function] Marking both as __maybe_unused lets us get rid of the warning as well as the #ifdef.
