* cifs: fix pcchunk length type in smb2_copychunk_rangePawel Witek2023-05-171-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | commit d66cde50c3c868af7abddafce701bb86e4a93039 upstream. Change type of pcchunk->Length from u32 to u64 to match smb2_copychunk_range arguments type. Fixes the problem where performing server-side copy with CIFS_IOC_COPYCHUNK_FILE ioctl resulted in incomplete copy of large files while returning -EINVAL. * cifs: fix DFS traversal oops without CONFIG_CIFS_DFS_UPCALLDavid Disseldorp2023-04-051-1/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | commit 179a88a8558bbf42991d361595281f3e45d7edfc upstream. When compiled with CONFIG_CIFS_DFS_UPCALL disabled, cifs_dfs_d_automount is NULL. cifs.ko logic for mapping CIFS_FATTR_DFS_REFERRAL attributes to S_AUTOMOUNT and corresponding dentry flags is retained regardless of CONFIG_CIFS_DFS_UPCALL, leading to a NULL pointer dereference in VFS follow_automount() when traversing a DFS referral link: BUG: kernel NULL pointer dereference, address: 0000000000000000 ... Call Trace: <TASK> __traverse_mounts+0xb5/0x220 ? cifs_revalidate_mapping+0x65/0xc0 [cifs] step_into+0x195/0x610 ? lookup_fast+0xe2/0xf0 path_lookupat+0x64/0x140 filename_lookup+0xc2/0x140 ? __create_object+0x299/0x380 ? kmem_cache_alloc+0x119/0x220 ? user_path_at_empty+0x31/0x50 user_path_at_empty+0x31/0x50 __x64_sys_chdir+0x2a/0xd0 ? exit_to_user_mode_prepare+0xca/0x100 do_syscall_64+0x42/0x90 entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x72/0xdc This fix adds an inline cifs_dfs_d_automount() {return -EREMOTE} handler when CONFIG_CIFS_DFS_UPCALL is disabled. An alternative would be to avoid flagging S_AUTOMOUNT, etc. without CONFIG_CIFS_DFS_UPCALL. This approach was chosen as it provides more control over the error path. * smbd: Make upper layer decide when to destroy the transportLong Li2023-02-063-27/+101
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | [ Upstream commit 050b8c374019c10e4bcc3fbc9023884f76a85d9c ] On transport recoonect, upper layer CIFS code destroys the current transport and then recoonect. This code path is not used by SMBD, in that SMBD destroys its transport on RDMA disconnect notification independent of CIFS upper layer behavior. This approach adds some costs to SMBD layer to handle transport shutdown and restart, and to deal with several racing conditions on reconnecting transport. Re-work this code path by introducing a new smbd_destroy. This function is called form upper layer to ask SMBD to destroy the transport. SMBD will no longer need to destroy the transport by itself while worrying about data transfer is in progress. The upper layer guarantees the transport is locked. change log: v2: fix build errors when CONFIG_CIFS_SMB_DIRECT is not configured Signed-off-by: Long Li <longli@microsoft.com> Signed-off-by: Steve French <stfrench@microsoft.com> Stable-dep-of: b7ab9161cf5d ("cifs: Fix oops due to uncleared server->smbd_conn in reconnect") Signed-off-by: Sasha Levin <sashal@kernel.org>
* cifs: do not include page data when checking signatureEnzo Matsumiya2023-01-241-6/+9
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | commit 30b2b2196d6e4cc24cbec633535a2404f258ce69 upstream. On async reads, page data is allocated before sending. When the response is received but it has no data to fill (e.g. STATUS_END_OF_FILE), __calc_signature() will still include the pages in its computation, leading to an invalid signature check. This patch fixes this by not setting the async read smb_rqst page data (zeroed by default) if its got_bytes is 0. This can be reproduced/verified with xfstests generic/465. A simple way to reproduce this is: truncate -s 0 /mnt/testfile; strace -f -o x -ttT xfs_io -i -f -c 'pwrite 0k 128k' -c 'fcollapse 16k 24k' /mnt/testfile the issue is that the 'pwrite 0k 128k' becomes rearranged on the wire with the 'fcollapse 16k 24k' due to write-back caching. fcollapse is implemented in cifs.ko as a SMB2 IOCTL(COPYCHUNK_WRITE) call and it will fail serverside since the file is still 0b in size serverside until the writes have been destaged. To avoid this we must ensure that we destage any unwritten data to the server before calling COPYCHUNK_WRITE. This is both inefficient and can lead to linear read overflows if a source string is not NUL-terminated. Also, the strnlen() call does not avoid the read overflow in the strlcpy function when a not NUL-terminated string is passed. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | commit 6d2fcfe6b517fe7cbf2687adfb0a16cdcd5d9243 upstream. SMB3.0 doesn't have encryption negotiate context but simply uses the SMB2_GLOBAL_CAP_ENCRYPTION flag. When that flag is present in the neg response cifs.ko uses AES-128-CCM which is the only cipher available in this context. cipher_type was set to the server cipher only when parsing encryption negotiate context (SMB3.1.1). For SMB3.0 it was set to 0. This means cipher_type value can be 0 or 1 for AES-128-CCM. Fix this by checking for SMB3.0 and encryption capability and setting cipher_type appropriately. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | commit 7955f105afb6034af344038d663bc98809483cdd upstream. In the negotiate protocol preauth context, the server is not required to populate the salt (although it is done by most servers) so do not warn on mount. We retain the checks (warn) that the preauth context is the minimum size and that the salt does not exceed DataLength of the SMB response. Although we use the defaults in the case that the preauth context response is invalid, these checks may be useful in the future as servers add support for additional mechanisms. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | commit ebcd6de98754d9b6a5f89d7835864b1c365d432f upstream. Mounts to Azure cause an unneeded warning message in dmesg "CIFS: VFS: parse_server_interfaces: incomplete interface info" Azure rounds up the size (by 8 additional bytes, to a 16 byte boundary) of the structure returned on the query of the server interfaces at mount time. This is permissible even though different than other servers so do not log a warning if query network interfaces response is only rounded up by 8 bytes or fewer. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | commit 57c176074057531b249cf522d90c22313fa74b0b upstream. When converting trailing spaces and periods in paths, do so for every component of the path, not just the last component. If the conversion is not done for every path component, then subsequent operations in directories with trailing spaces or periods (e.g. create(), mkdir()) will fail with ENOENT. This is because on the server, the directory will have a special symbol in its name, and the client needs to provide the same. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | [ Upstream commit 9bd4540836684013aaad6070a65d6fcdd9006625 ] Currenly we doesn't assume that a server may break a lease from RWH to RW which causes us setting a wrong lease state on a file and thus mistakenly flushing data and byte-range locks and purging cached data on the client. This leads to performance degradation because subsequent IOs go directly to the server. Fix this by propagating new lease state and epoch values to the oplock break handler through cifsFileInfo structure and removing the use of cifsInodeInfo flags for that. It allows to avoid some races of several lease/oplock breaks using those flags in parallel.
