* proc: introduce proc_create_seq{,_data}Christoph Hellwig2018-05-161-13/+1
| | | | | | | | | Variants of proc_create{,_data} that directly take a struct seq_operations argument and drastically reduces the boilerplate code in the callers. All trivial callers converted over. Signed-off-by: Christoph Hellwig <hch@lst.de>
* fs/proc/consoles.c: use seq_putc() in show_console_dev()Markus Elfring2018-02-061-2/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | A single character (line break) should be put into a sequence. Thus use the corresponding function "seq_putc". This issue was detected by using the Coccinelle software. * fs/proc: don't use module_init for non-modular core codePaul Gortmaker2014-01-231-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | PROC_FS is a bool, so this code is either present or absent. It will never be modular, so using module_init as an alias for __initcall is rather misleading. Fix this up now, so that we can relocate module_init from init.h into module.h in the future. If we don't do this, we'd have to add module.h to obviously non-modular code, and that would be ugly at best. Note that direct use of __initcall is discouraged, vs. one of the priority categorized subgroups. As __initcall gets mapped onto device_initcall, our use of fs_initcall (which makes sense for fs code) will thus change these registrations from level 6-device to level 5-fs (i.e. slightly earlier). However no observable impact of that small difference has been observed during testing, or is expected. Also note that this change uncovers a missing semicolon bug in the registration of vmcore_init as an initcall. * seq_file: remove "%n" usage from seq_file usersTetsuo Handa2013-11-151-6/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | All seq_printf() users are using "%n" for calculating padding size, convert them to use seq_setwidth() / seq_pad() pair. * console: rename acquire/release_console_sem() to console_lock/unlock()Torben Hohn2011-01-261-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The -rt patches change the console_semaphore to console_mutex. As a result, a quite large chunk of the patches changes all acquire/release_console_sem() to acquire/release_console_mutex() This commit makes things use more neutral function names which dont make implications about the underlying lock. The only real change is the return value of console_trylock which is inverted from try_acquire_console_sem() This patch also paves the way to switching console_sem from a semaphore to a mutex. * proc: move proc_console.c to fs/proc/consoles.cAlexey Dobriyan2011-01-131-0/+114
Filename is supposed to match procfile name for random junk. Add __init while I'm at it. Signed-off-by: Alexey Dobriyan <adobriyan@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@linux-foundation.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@linux-foundation.org>
