* ubifs: find.c: replace swap function with built-in oneAndrey Abramov2019-05-071-8/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Replace swap_dirty_idx function with built-in one, because swap_dirty_idx does only a simple byte to byte swap. Since Spectre mitigations have made indirect function calls more expensive, and the default simple byte copies swap is implemented without them, an "optimized" custom swap function is now a waste of time as well as code. * ubifs: Pass struct ubifs_info to ubifs_assert()Richard Weinberger2018-08-151-27/+27
| | | | | | | This allows us to have more context in ubifs_assert() and take different actions depending on the configuration. Signed-off-by: Richard Weinberger <richard@nod.at>
* ubifs: use swap macro in swap_dirty_idxGustavo A. R. Silva2018-08-151-4/+1
| | | | | | | | | | Make use of the swap macro and remove unnecessary variable *t*. This makes the code easier to read and maintain. This code was detected with the help of Coccinelle. Signed-off-by: Gustavo A. R. Silva <gustavo@embeddedor.com> Signed-off-by: Richard Weinberger <richard@nod.at>
* ubifs: Constify struct ubifs_lprops in scan_for_leb_for_idxJiang Biao2018-04-041-1/+1
| | | | | | | | Constify struct ubifs_lprops in scan_for_leb_for_idx to be consistent with other references. Signed-off-by: Jiang Biao <jiang.biao2@zte.com.cn> Signed-off-by: Richard Weinberger <richard@nod.at>
* UBIFS: fix mounting problems after power cutsArtem Bityutskiy2012-10-261-2/+10
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This is a bugfix for a problem with the following symptoms: 1. A power cut happens 2. After reboot, we try to mount UBIFS 3. Mount fails with "No space left on device" error message UBIFS complains like this: UBIFS error (pid 28225): grab_empty_leb: could not find an empty LEB The root cause of this problem is that when we mount, not all LEBs are categorized. Only those which were read are. However, the 'ubifs_find_free_leb_for_idx()' function assumes that all LEBs were categorized and 'c->freeable_cnt' is valid, which is a false assumption. This patch fixes the problem by teaching 'ubifs_find_free_leb_for_idx()' to always fall back to LPT scanning if no freeable LEBs were found. This problem was reported by few people in the past, but Brent Taylor was able to reproduce it and send me a flash image which cannot be mounted, which made it easy to hunt the bug. Kudos to Brent. * UBIFS: fix assertionDan Carpenter2012-06-181-2/+2
| | | | | | | | The asserts here never check anything because it uses '|' instead of '&'. Now if the flags are not set it prints a warning a a stack trace. Signed-off-by: Dan Carpenter <dan.carpenter@oracle.com> Signed-off-by: Artem Bityutskiy <artem.bityutskiy@linux.intel.com>
* UBIFS: introduce a separate structure for budgeting infoArtem Bityutskiy2011-05-131-5/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch separates out all the budgeting-related information from 'struct ubifs_info' to 'struct ubifs_budg_info'. This way the code looks a bit cleaner. However, the main driver for this is that we want to save budgeting information and print it later, so a separate data structure for this is helpful. This patch is a preparation for the further debugging output improvements. Signed-off-by: Artem Bityutskiy <Artem.Bityutskiy@nokia.com>
* UBIFS: improve find function interfaceArtem Bityutskiy2009-03-081-6/+6
| | | | | | | | Make 'ubifs_find_free_space()' return offset where free space starts, rather than the amount of free space. This is just more appropriat for its caller. Signed-off-by: Artem Bityutskiy <Artem.Bityutskiy@nokia.com>
* UBIFS: remove unneeded unlikely()Hirofumi Nakagawa2008-09-301-2/+2
| | | | | | | | IS_ERR() macro already has unlikely(), so do not use constructions like 'if (unlikely(IS_ERR())'. Signed-off-by: Hirofumi Nakagawa <hnakagawa@miraclelinux.com> Signed-off-by: Artem Bityutskiy <Artem.Bityutskiy@nokia.com>
* UBIFS: remove incorrect assertAdrian Hunter2008-09-171-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | The assert was not valid because one of the variables 'taken_empty_lebs' has transient values out of sync with the other variables. Signed-off-by: Adrian Hunter <ext-adrian.hunter@nokia.com> Signed-off-by: Artem Bityutskiy <Artem.Bityutskiy@nokia.com>
* UBIFS: add forgotten gc_idx_lebs componentArtem Bityutskiy2008-08-311-1/+1
| | | | | | | We add this component at other similar places, but not in this one. Signed-off-by: Artem Bityutskiy <Artem.Bityutskiy@nokia.com>
* UBIFS: fix assertionArtem Bityutskiy2008-08-311-9/+7
| | | | | | | | | | The assertion was incorrect, because it did not take into account free space. This patch also amends the comments correspondingly, and cleans them up a little. Signed-off-by: Artem Bityutskiy <Artem.Bityutskiy@nokia.com>

* UBIFS: reserve more space for indexArtem Bityutskiy2008-08-131-2/+7
| | | | | | | | | | | | At the moment UBIFS reserves twice old index size space for the index. But this is not enough in some cases, because if the indexing node are very fragmented and there are many small gaps, while the dirty index has big znodes - in-the-gaps method would fail. Thus, reserve trise as more, in which case we are guaranteed that we can commit in any case. Signed-off-by: Artem Bityutskiy <Artem.Bityutskiy@nokia.com>
