* IPv6: Generic TTL Security Mechanism (final version)Stephen Hemminger2010-04-221-0/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch adds IPv6 support for RFC5082 Generalized TTL Security Mechanism. Not to users of mapped address; the IPV6 and IPV4 socket options are seperate. The server does have to deal with both IPv4 and IPv6 socket options and the client has to handle the different for each family. On client: int ttl = 255; getaddrinfo(argv[1], argv[2], &hint, &result); for (rp = result; rp != NULL; rp = rp->ai_next) { s = socket(rp->ai_family, rp->ai_socktype, rp->ai_protocol); if (s < 0) continue; if (rp->ai_family == AF_INET) { setsockopt(s, IPPROTO_IP, IP_TTL, &ttl, sizeof(ttl)); } else if (rp->ai_family == AF_INET6) { setsockopt(s, IPPROTO_IPV6, IPV6_UNICAST_HOPS, &ttl, sizeof(ttl))) } if (connect(s, rp->ai_addr, rp->ai_addrlen) == 0) { ... On server: int minttl = 255 - maxhops; getaddrinfo(NULL, port, &hints, &result); for (rp = result; rp != NULL; rp = rp->ai_next) { s = socket(rp->ai_family, rp->ai_socktype, rp->ai_protocol); if (s < 0) continue; if (rp->ai_family == AF_INET6) setsockopt(s, IPPROTO_IPV6, IPV6_MINHOPCOUNT, &minttl, sizeof(minttl)); setsockopt(s, IPPROTO_IP, IP_MINTTL, &minttl, sizeof(minttl)); if (bind(s, rp->ai_addr, rp->ai_addrlen) == 0) break ... * [INET]: Add IP(V6)_PMTUDISC_RPOBEJohn Heffner2007-04-251-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | Add IP(V6)_PMTUDISC_PROBE value for IP(V6)_MTU_DISCOVER. This option forces us not to fragment, but does not make use of the kernel path MTU discovery. That is, it allows for user-mode MTU probing (or, packetization-layer path MTU discovery). This is particularly useful for diagnostic utilities, like traceroute/tracepath. * [NETFILTER]: ip6_tables: fixed conflicted optname for getsockoptYasuyuki Kozakai2006-11-151-1/+11
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | 66 and 67 for getsockopt on IPv6 socket is doubly used for IPv6 Advanced API and ip6tables. This moves numbers for ip6tables to 68 and 69. This also kills XT_SO_* because {ip,ip6,arp}_tables doesn't have so much common numbers now. The old userland tools keep to behave as ever, because old kernel always calls functions of IPv6 Advanced API for their numbers. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
