* ARM: pxa/sa1100: move I/O space to PCI_IOBASEArnd Bergmann2022-05-071-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | PXA and StrongARM1100 traditionally map their I/O space 1:1 into virtual memory, using a per-bus io_offset that matches the base address of the ioremap mapping. In order for PXA to work in a multiplatform config, this needs to change so I/O space starts at PCI_IOBASE (0xfee00000). Since the pcmcia soc_common support is shared with StrongARM1100, both have to change at the same time. The affected machines are: - Anything with a PCMCIA slot now uses pci_remap_iospace, which is made available to PCMCIA configurations as well, rather than just PCI. The first PCMCIA slot now starts at port number 0x10000. - The Zeus and Viper platforms have PC/104-style ISA buses, which have a static mapping for both I/O and memory space at 0xf1000000, which can no longer work. It does not appear to have any in-tree users, so moving it to port number 0 makes them behave like a traditional PC. - SA1100 does support ISA slots in theory, but all machines that originally enabled this appear to have been removed from the tree ages ago, and the I/O space is never mapped anywhere. - The Nanoengine machine has support for PCI slots, but looks like this never included I/O space, the resources only define the location for memory and config space. With this, the definitions of __io() and IO_SPACE_LIMIT can be simplified, as the only remaining cases are the generic PCI_IOBASE and the custom inb()/outb() macros on RiscPC. S3C24xx still has a custom inb()/outb() in this here, but this is already removed in another branch. Signed-off-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de>
* ARM: pxa: move pcmcia board data into mach-pxaArnd Bergmann2022-04-191-0/+125
| | | | | | | | | | | | | The drivers/pcmcia/pxa2xx_*.c are essentially part of the board files, but for historic reasons located in drivers/pcmcia. Move them into the same place as the actual board file to avoid lots of machine header inclusions. * pcmcia: Replace zero-length array with flexible-arrayGustavo A. R. Silva2020-05-181-3/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The current codebase makes use of the zero-length array language extension to the C90 standard, but the preferred mechanism to declare variable-length types such as these ones is a flexible array member[1][2], introduced in C99: struct foo { int stuff; struct boo array[]; }; By making use of the mechanism above, we will get a compiler warning in case the flexible array does not occur last in the structure, which will help us prevent some kind of undefined behavior bugs from being inadvertently introduced[3] to the codebase from now on. Also, notice that, dynamic memory allocations won't be affected by this change: "Flexible array members have incomplete type, and so the sizeof operator may not be applied. As a quirk of the original implementation of zero-length arrays, sizeof evaluates to zero."[1] sizeof(flexible-array-member) triggers a warning because flexible array members have incomplete type[1]. There are some instances of code in which the sizeof operator is being incorrectly/erroneously applied to zero-length arrays and the result is zero. Such instances may be hiding some bugs. So, this work (flexible-array member conversions) will also help to get completely rid of those sorts of issues. This issue was found with the help of Coccinelle. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Convert the pcmcia docs to ReST format. Most of the changes here are trivial. The conversion is actually: - add blank lines and identation in order to identify paragraphs; - fix tables markups; - add some lists markups; - mark literal blocks; - adjust title markups. At its new index.rst, let's add a :orphan: while this is not linked to the main index.rst file, in order to avoid build warnings. * pcmcia: remove long deprecated pcmcia_request_exclusive_irq() functionLinus Torvalds2018-08-181-10/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | This function was created as a deprecated fallback case back in 2010 by commit eb14120f743d ("pcmcia: re-work pcmcia_request_irq()") for legacy cases. Actual in-kernel users haven't been around for a long while. The last in-kernel user was apparently removed four years ago by commit 5f5316fcd08e ("am2150: Update nmclan_cs.c to use update PCMCIA API"). Just remove it entirely. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This is needed to match wireless cards with Intersil firmware that have ID 0x0156:0x0002 and the third ID "Version 01.02". Such cards are currently matched by orinoco_cs, which doesn't support WPA. They should be matched by hostap_cs. The first and the second product ID vary widely, so there are few users with some particular IDs. Of those, very few can submit a patch for hostap_cs or write a useful bugreport. It's still important to support their hardware properly. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Several drivers prefer to explicitly set config_{base,index,regs}, formerly known as ConfigBase, ConfigIndex and Present. Instead of passing these values inside config_req_t, store it in struct pcmcia_device. * pcmcia: simplify IntTypeDominik Brodowski2010-09-291-7/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | IntType was only set to INT_MEMORY (driver pcmciamtd) or INT_MEMORY_AND_IO (all other drivers). As this flags seems to relate to ioport access, make it conditional to the driver having requested IO port access. There are two drivers which do not request IO ports, but did set INT_MEMORY_AND_IO: ray_cs and b43. For those, we consistently only set INT_MEMORY in future. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The Status (CISREG_CCSR) and ExtStatus (CISREG_ESR) registers were only accessed to enable audio output for some drivers and IRQ for serial_cs.c. | | | | | | | | | | | The "Pin" and "Copy" configuration registers (CISREG_SCR, CISREG_PPR) do not seem to be utilized anywhere. | | | | | | | | | | | Clean up the alloc_io_space() function by moving most of it to the actual resource_ops. This allows for a bit less re-directions. Future cleanups will follow, and will make up for the code duplication currently present between rsrc_iodyn and rsrc_nonstatic (which are hardly ever built at the same time anyway, therefore no increase in built size). * pcmcia: dev_node removal (core)Dominik Brodowski2010-05-101-10/+0
| | | | | | | Remove the dev_node declaration. We now only pass the device name to the deprecated userspace tools. Signed-off-by: Dominik Brodowski <linux@dominikbrodowski.net>
* pcmcia: clean up cs.hDominik Brodowski2010-05-101-11/+0
| | | | | | With req_irq_t gone, we can get rid of some definitions. Signed-off-by: Dominik Brodowski <linux@dominikbrodowski.net>
* pcmcia: re-work pcmcia_request_irq()Dominik Brodowski2010-05-102-10/+8
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Instead of the old pcmcia_request_irq() interface, drivers may now choose between: - calling request_irq/free_irq directly. Use the IRQ from *p_dev->irq. - use pcmcia_request_irq(p_dev, handler_t); the PCMCIA core will clean up automatically on calls to pcmcia_disable_device() or device ejection. - drivers still not capable of IRQF_SHARED (or not telling us so) may use the deprecated pcmcia_request_exclusive_irq() for the time being; they might receive a shared IRQ nonetheless. * pcmcia: pass FORCED_PULSE parameter in pcmcia_request_configuration()Dominik Brodowski2010-05-101-0/+1
| | | | | | | As it's only used there it makes no sense relying on pcmcia_request_irq(). CC: alsa-devel@alsa-project.org Signed-off-by: Dominik Brodowski <linux@dominikbrodowski.net>
* pcmcia: replace struct irq with uint pcmcia_irq in struct pcmcia_socketDominik Brodowski2010-05-101-4/+3
| | | | | | | As we don't need the "Config" counter any more, we can simplify struct pcmcia_socket. Signed-off-by: Dominik Brodowski <linux@dominikbrodowski.net>
* pcmcia: setup IRQ to be used by PCMCIA drivers at card insertDominik Brodowski2010-05-101-0/+3
| | | | | | | | | Setup the IRQ to be used by PCMCIA drivers already during the device registration stage, making use of a new function pcmcia_setup_irq(). This will allow us to get rid of quite a lot of indirection in the future. Signed-off-by: Dominik Brodowski <linux@dominikbrodowski.net>
* pcmcia: pcmcia_dev_present bugfixDominik Brodowski2010-04-212-9/+6
| | | | | | | | | pcmcia_dev_present is in and by itself buggy. Add a note specifying why it is broken, and replace the broken locking -- taking a mutex is a bad idea in IRQ context, from which this function is rarely called -- by an atomic_t. * pcmcia: use dev_pm_ops for class pcmcia_socket_classDominik Brodowski2010-03-241-6/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | Instead of requiring PCMCIA socket drivers to call various functions during their (bus) resume and suspend functions, register an own dev_pm_ops for this class. This fixes several suspend/resume bugs seen on db1xxx-ss, and probably on some other socket drivers, too. With regard to the asymmetry with only _noirq suspend, but split up resume, please see bug 14334 and commit 9905d1b411946fb3 . Signed-off-by: Dominik Brodowski <linux@dominikbrodowski.net>

| * pcmcia: use state machine for extended requeryDominik Brodowski2010-02-171-8/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The requery callback now also handles the addition of a second pseudo multifunction device. Avoids messing with dev_{g,s}et_drvdata(), and fixes any workqueue <-> skt_mutex deadlock. | * pcmcia: use pccardd to handle eject, insert, suspend and resume requestsDominik Brodowski2010-02-171-1/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This avoids any sysfs-related deadlock (or lockdep warning), such as reported at http://lkml.org/lkml/2010/1/17/88 . | * pcmcia: use mutex for dynid lockDominik Brodowski2010-02-171-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Even though we weren't calling a blocking function within the dynid spinlock, we do not need a spinlock here but can and should be using a mutex.
