[ Upstream commit 9b211f9c5a0b67afc435b86f75d78273b97db1c5 ]
The CEC_MSG_GIVE_DECK_STATUS and CEC_MSG_GIVE_TUNER_DEVICE_STATUS commands
both have a status_req argument: ON, OFF, ONCE. If ON or ONCE, then the
follower will reply with a STATUS message. Either once or whenever the
status changes (status_req == ON).
If status_req == OFF, then it will stop sending continuous status updates,
but the follower will *not* send a STATUS message in that case.
This means that if status_req == OFF, then msg->reply should be 0 as well
since no reply is expected in that case.

[ Upstream commit 89a26cd4b501e9511d3cd3d22327fc76a75a38b3 ]
When running a 64-bit kernel with a 32-bit iptables binary, the size of
the xt_nfacct_match_info struct diverges.
kernel: sizeof(struct xt_nfacct_match_info) : 40
iptables: sizeof(struct xt_nfacct_match_info)) : 36
Trying to append nfacct related rules results in an unhelpful message.
Although it is suggested to look for more information in dmesg, nothing
can be found there.
# iptables -A <chain> -m nfacct --nfacct-name <acct-object>
iptables: Invalid argument. Run `dmesg' for more information.
This patch fixes the memory misalignment by enforcing 8-byte alignment
within the struct's first revision. This solution is often used in many
other uapi netfilter headers.

[ Upstream commit 2ecefa0a15fd0ef88b9cd5d15ceb813008136431 ]
The keyctl_dh_params struct in uapi/linux/keyctl.h contains the symbol
"private" which means that the header file will cause compilation failure
if #included in to a C++ program. Further, the patch that added the same
struct to the keyutils package named the symbol "priv", not "private".
The previous attempt to fix this (commit 8a2336e549d3) did so by simply
renaming the kernel's copy of the field to dh_private, but this then breaks
existing userspace and as such has been reverted (commit 8c0f9f5b309d).
[And note, to those who think that wrapping the struct in extern "C" {}
will work: it won't; that only changes how symbol names are presented to
the assembler and linker.].
Instead, insert an anonymous union around the "private" member and add a
second member in there with the name "priv" to match the one in the
keyutils package. The "private" member is then wrapped in !__cplusplus
cpp-conditionals to hide it from C++.

[ Upstream commit 0472301a28f6cf53a6bc5783e48a2d0bbff4682f ]
Merge commit 1c8c5a9d38f60 ("Merge
git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/davem/net-next") undid the
fix from commit 36f9814a494 ("bpf: fix uapi hole for 32 bit compat
applications") by taking the gpl_compatible 1-bit field definition from
commit b85fab0e67b162 ("bpf: Add gpl_compatible flag to struct
bpf_prog_info") as is. That breaks architectures with 16-bit alignment
like m68k. Add 31-bit pad after gpl_compatible to restore alignment of
following fields.

commit ca95c7bf3d29716916baccdc77c3c2284b703069 upstream.
Extension Unit (XU) is used to have a compatible layout with
Processing Unit (PU) on UAC1, and the usb-audio driver code assumed it
for parsing the descriptors. Meanwhile, on UAC2, XU became slightly
incompatible with PU; namely, XU has a one-byte bmControls bitmap
while PU has two bytes bmControls bitmap. This incompatibility
results in the read of a wrong address for the last iExtension field,
which ended up with an incorrect string for the mixer element name, as
recently reported for Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 device.
This patch corrects this misalignment by introducing a couple of new
macros and calling them depending on the descriptor type.

commit 983695fa676568fc0fe5ddd995c7267aabc24632 upstream.
Intention of cgroup bind/connect/sendmsg BPF hooks is to act transparently
to applications as also stated in original motivation in 7828f20e3779 ("Merge
branch 'bpf-cgroup-bind-connect'"). When recently integrating the latter
two hooks into Cilium to enable host based load-balancing with Kubernetes,
I ran into the issue that pods couldn't start up as DNS got broken. Kubernetes
typically sets up DNS as a service and is thus subject to load-balancing.
Upon further debugging, it turns out that the cgroupv2 sendmsg BPF hooks API
is currently insufficient and thus not usable as-is for standard applications
shipped with most distros. To break down the issue we ran into with a simple
example:
# cat /etc/resolv.conf
nameserver 147.75.207.207
nameserver 147.75.207.208
For the purpose of a simple test, we set up above IPs as service IPs and
transparently redirect traffic to a different DNS backend server for that
node:
# cilium service list
ID Frontend Backend
1 147.75.207.207:53 1 => 8.8.8.8:53
2 147.75.207.208:53 1 => 8.8.8.8:53
The attached BPF program is basically selecting one of the backends if the
service IP/port matches on the cgroup hook. DNS breaks here, because the
hooks are not transparent enough to applications which have built-in msg_name
address checks:
# nslookup 1.1.1.1
;; reply from unexpected source: 8.8.8.8#53, expected 147.75.207.207#53
;; reply from unexpected source: 8.8.8.8#53, expected 147.75.207.208#53

# dig 1.1.1.1

[...]
; <<>> DiG 9.11.3-1ubuntu1.7-Ubuntu <<>> 1.1.1.1
;; global options: +cmd
;; connection timed out; no servers could be reached
For comparison, if none of the service IPs is used, and we tell nslookup
to use 8.8.8.8 directly it works just fine, of course:
# nslookup 1.1.1.1 8.8.8.8
1.1.1.1.in-addr.arpa name = one.one.one.one.
In order to fix this and thus act more transparent to the application,
this needs reverse translation on recvmsg() side. A minimal fix for this
API is to add similar recvmsg() hooks behind the BPF cgroups static key
such that the program can track state and replace the current sockaddr_in{,6}
with the original service IP. From BPF side, this basically tracks the
service tuple plus socket cookie in an LRU map where the reverse NAT can
then be retrieved via map value as one example. Side-note: the BPF cgroups
static key should be converted to a per-hook static key in future.
Same example after this fix:
# cilium service list
ID Frontend Backend
1 147.75.207.207:53 1 => 8.8.8.8:53
2 147.75.207.208:53 1 => 8.8.8.8:53
Lookups work fine now:
# nslookup 1.1.1.1
1.1.1.1.in-addr.arpa name = one.one.one.one.
Authoritative answers can be found from:
# dig 1.1.1.1
; <<>> DiG 9.11.3-1ubuntu1.7-Ubuntu <<>> 1.1.1.1

In order to be flexible and to have same semantics as in sendmsg BPF
programs, we only allow return codes in [1,1] range. In the sendmsg case
the program is called if msg->msg_name is present which can be the case
in both, connected and unconnected UDP.
The former only relies on the sockaddr_in{,6} passed via connect(2) if
passed msg->msg_name was NULL. Therefore, on recvmsg side, we act in similar
way to call into the BPF program whenever a non-NULL msg->msg_name was
passed independent of sk->sk_state being TCP_ESTABLISHED or not. Note
that for TCP case, the msg->msg_name is ignored in the regular recvmsg
path and therefore not relevant.
For the case of ip{,v6}_recv_error() paths, picked up via MSG_ERRQUEUE,
the hook is not called. This is intentional as it aligns with the same
semantics as in case of TCP cgroup BPF hooks right now. This might be
better addressed in future through a different bpf_attach_type such
that this case can be distinguished from the regular recvmsg paths,
for example.

Previously, the BPF_FIB_LOOKUP_{DIRECT,OUTPUT} flags in the BPF UAPI
were defined with the help of BIT macro. This had the following issues:
- In order to use any of the flags, a user was required to depend
on <linux/bits.h>.
- No other flag in bpf.h uses the macro, so it seems that an unwritten
convention is to use (1 << (nr)) to define BPF-related flags.

commit f070ef2ac66716357066b683fb0baf55f8191a2e upstream.
Jonathan Looney reported that a malicious peer can force a sender
to fragment its retransmit queue into tiny skbs, inflating memory
usage and/or overflow 32bit counters.
TCP allows an application to queue up to sk_sndbuf bytes,
so we need to give some allowance for non malicious splitting
of retransmit queue.
A new SNMP counter is added to monitor how many times TCP
did not allow to split an skb if the allowance was exceeded.
Note that this counter might increase in the case applications
use SO_SNDBUF socket option to lower sk_sndbuf.
CVE-2019-11478 : tcp_fragment, prevent fragmenting a packet when the
socket is already using more than half the allowed space

commit d90c06d57027203f73021bb7ddb30b800d65c636 upstream.
This was supposed to be a mask of all known rings, but it is being used
by execbuffer to filter out invalid rings, and so is instead mapping high
unused values onto valid rings. Instead of a mask of all known rings,
we need it to be the mask of all possible rings.

TLV_SET is called with a data pointer and a len parameter that tells us
how many bytes are pointed to by data. When invoking memcpy() we need
to careful to only copy len bytes.
Previously we would copy TLV_LENGTH(len) bytes which would copy an extra
4 bytes past the end of the data pointer which newer GCC versions
complain about.

commit bbd84f33652f852ce5992d65db4d020aba21f882 upstream.
Starting from commit 9c225f2655e3 ("vfs: atomic f_pos accesses as per
POSIX") files opened even via nonseekable_open gate read and write via lock
and do not allow them to be run simultaneously. This can create read vs
write deadlock if a filesystem is trying to implement a socket-like file
which is intended to be simultaneously used for both read and write from
filesystem client. See commit 10dce8af3422 ("fs: stream_open - opener for
stream-like files so that read and write can run simultaneously without
deadlock") for details and e.g. commit 581d21a2d02a ("xenbus: fix deadlock
on writes to /proc/xen/xenbus") for a similar deadlock example on
/proc/xen/xenbus.
To avoid such deadlock it was tempting to adjust fuse_finish_open to use
stream_open instead of nonseekable_open on just FOPEN_NONSEEKABLE flags,
but grepping through Debian codesearch shows users of FOPEN_NONSEEKABLE,
and in particular GVFS which actually uses offset in its read and write
handlers
https://codesearch.debian.net/search?q=-%3Enonseekable+%3D
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gvfs/blob/1.40.0-6-gcbc54396/client/gvfsfusedaemon.c#L1080
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gvfs/blob/1.40.0-6-gcbc54396/client/gvfsfusedaemon.c#L1247-1346
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gvfs/blob/1.40.0-6-gcbc54396/client/gvfsfusedaemon.c#L1399-1481
so if we would do such a change it will break a real user.
Add another flag (FOPEN_STREAM) for filesystem servers to indicate that the
opened handler is having stream-like semantics; does not use file position
and thus the kernel is free to issue simultaneous read and write request on
opened file handle.
This patch together with stream_open() should be added to stable kernels
starting from v3.14+. This will allow to patch OSSPD and other FUSE
filesystems that provide stream-like files to return FOPEN_STREAM |
FOPEN_NONSEEKABLE in open handler and this way avoid the deadlock on all
kernel versions. This should work because fuse_finish_open ignores unknown
open flags returned from a filesystem and so passing FOPEN_STREAM to a
kernel that is not aware of this flag cannot hurt. In turn the kernel that
is not aware of FOPEN_STREAM will be < v3.14 where just FOPEN_NONSEEKABLE
is sufficient to implement streams without read vs write deadlock.

cgroup v2 path field is PATH_MAX which is too large, this is placing too
much pressure on memory allocation for people with many rules doing
cgroup v1 classid matching, side effects of this are bug reports like:
https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=200639
This patch registers a new revision that shrinks the cgroup path to 512
bytes, which is the same approach we follow in similar extensions that
have a path field.

[ Upstream commit 1ec17dbd90f8b638f41ee650558609c1af63dfa0 ]
Field idiag_ext in struct inet_diag_req_v2 used as bitmap of requested
extensions has only 8 bits. Thus extensions starting from DCTCPINFO
cannot be requested directly. Some of them included into response
unconditionally or hook into some of lower 8 bits.
Extension INET_DIAG_CLASS_ID has not way to request from the beginning.
This patch bundle it with INET_DIAG_TCLASS (ipv6 tos), fixes space
reservation, and documents behavior for other extensions.
Also this patch adds fallback to reporting socket priority. This filed
is more widely used for traffic classification because ipv4 sockets
automatically maps TOS to priority and default qdisc pfifo_fast knows
about that. But priority could be changed via setsockopt SO_PRIORITY so
INET_DIAG_TOS isn't enough for predicting class.
Also cgroup2 obsoletes net_cls classid (it always zero), but we cannot
reuse this field for reporting cgroup2 id because it is 64-bit (ino+gen).
So, after this patch INET_DIAG_CLASS_ID will report socket priority
for most common setup when net_cls isn't set and/or cgroup2 in use.

commit 2e746942ebacf1565caa72cf980745e5ce297c48 upstream.
The usec part of the timeval is defined as
__kernel_suseconds_t tv_usec; /* microseconds */
Arnd noticed that sparc64 is the only architecture that defines
__kernel_suseconds_t as int rather than long.
This breaks the current y2038 fix for kernel as we only access and define
the timeval struct for non-kernel use cases. But, this was hidden by an
another typo in the use of __KERNEL__ qualifier.
Fix the typo, and provide an override for sparc64.

commit 7ec2b3b941a666a942859684281b5f6460a0c234 upstream.
If the HDMI cable is disconnected or the CEC adapter is manually
unconfigured, then all pending transmits and wait-for-replies are
aborted. Signal this with new status bits (CEC_RX/TX_STATUS_ABORTED).
If due to (usually) a driver bug a transmit never ends (i.e. the
transmit_done was never called by the driver), then when this times
out the message is marked with CEC_TX_STATUS_TIMEOUT.
This should not happen and is an indication of a driver bug.
Without a separate status bit for this it was impossible to detect
this from userspace.
The 'transmit timed out' kernel message is now a warning, so this

commit 578bdaabd015b9b164842c3e8ace9802f38e7ecc upstream.
These are unused, undesired, and have never actually been used by
anybody. The original authors of this code have changed their mind about
its inclusion. While originally proposed for disk encryption on low-end
devices, the idea was discarded [1] in favor of something else before
that could really get going. Therefore, this patch removes Speck.

commit 9a59739bd01f77db6fbe2955a4fce165f0f43568 upstream.
This enum has become part of the uABI, as both RXE and the
ib_uverbs_post_send() command expect userspace to supply values from this
enum. So it should be properly placed in include/uapi/rdma.
In userspace this enum is called 'enum ibv_wr_opcode' as part of
libibverbs.h. That enum defines different values for IB_WR_LOCAL_INV,
IB_WR_SEND_WITH_INV, and IB_WR_LSO. These were introduced (incorrectly, it
turns out) into libiberbs in 2015.
The kernel has changed its mind on the numbering for several of the IB_WC
values over the years, but has remained stable on IB_WR_LOCAL_INV and
below.
Based on this we can conclude that there is no real user space user of the
values beyond IB_WR_ATOMIC_FETCH_AND_ADD, as they have never worked via
rdma-core. This is confirmed by inspection, only rxe uses the kernel enum
and implements the latter operations. rxe has clearly never worked with
these attributes from userspace. Other drivers that support these opcodes
implement the functionality without calling out to the kernel.
To make IB_WR_SEND_WITH_INV and related work for RXE in userspace we
choose to renumber the IB_WR enum in the kernel to match the uABI that
userspace has bee using since before Soft RoCE was merged. This is an
overall simpler configuration for the whole software stack, and obviously
can't break anything existing.

[ Upstream commit 9607871f37dc3e717639694b8d0dc738f2a68efc ]
The following code in the linux/ndctl header file:
static inline const char *nvdimm_bus_cmd_name(unsigned cmd)
{
static const char * const names[] = {
[ND_CMD_ARS_CAP] = "ars_cap",
[ND_CMD_ARS_START] = "ars_start",
[ND_CMD_ARS_STATUS] = "ars_status",
[ND_CMD_CLEAR_ERROR] = "clear_error",
[ND_CMD_CALL] = "cmd_call",
};
if (cmd < ARRAY_SIZE(names) && names[cmd])
return names[cmd];
return "unknown";
}
is broken in a number of ways:
(1) ARRAY_SIZE() is not generally defined.
(2) g++ does not support "non-trivial" array initialisers fully yet.
(3) Every file that calls this function will acquire a copy of names[].
The same goes for nvdimm_cmd_name().
Fix all three by converting to a switch statement where each case returns a
string. That way if cmd is a constant, the compiler can trivially reduce it
and, if not, the compiler can use a shared lookup table if it thinks that is
more efficient.
A better way would be to remove these functions and their arrays from the
header entirely.

the user wants the information. It is an error to use
SCTP_PR_SCTP_NONE in sprstat_policy. If SCTP_PR_SCTP_ALL is used,

We change to dump pr_assoc and pr_stream all status by SCTP_PR_SCTP_ALL

David Howells says:
====================
rxrpc: Fix packet reception code
Here are a set of patches that prepares for and fix problems in rxrpc's
package reception code. There serious problems are:
(A) There's a window between binding the socket and setting the data_ready
hook in which packets can find their way into the UDP socket's receive
queues.
(B) The skb_recv_udp() will return an error (and clear the error state) if
there was an error on the Tx side. rxrpc doesn't handle this.
(C) The rxrpc data_ready handler doesn't fully drain the UDP receive
queue.
(D) The rxrpc data_ready handler assumes it is called in a non-reentrant
state.
The second patch fixes (A) - (C); the third patch renders (B) and (C)
non-issues by using the recap_rcv hook instead of data_ready - and the
final patch fixes (D). That last is the most complex.
The preparatory patches are:
(1) Fix some places that are doing things in the wrong net namespace.
(2) Stop taking the rcu read lock as it's held by the IP input routine in
the call chain.
(3) Only end the Tx phase if *we* rotated the final packet out of the Tx
buffer.
(4) Don't assume that the call state won't change after dropping the
call_state lock.
(5) Only take receive window and MTU suze parameters from an ACK packet if
it's the latest ACK packet.
(6) Record connection-level abort information correctly.
(7) Fix a trace line.
And then there are three main patches - note that these are mixed in with
the preparatory patches somewhat:
(1) Fix the setup window (A), skb_recv_udp() error check (B) and packet
drainage (C).
(2) Switch to using the encap_rcv instead of data_ready to cut out the
effects of the UDP read queues and get the packets delivered directly.
(3) Add more locking into the various packet input paths to defend against
re-entrance (D).

Use the UDP encap_rcv hook to cut the bit out of the rxrpc packet reception
in which a packet is placed onto the UDP receive queue and then immediately
removed again by rxrpc. Going via the queue in this manner seems like it
should be unnecessary.
This does, however, require the invention of a value to place in encap_type
as that's one of the conditions to switch packets out to the encap_rcv
hook. Possibly the value doesn't actually matter for anything other than
sockopts on the UDP socket, which aren't accessible outside of rxrpc
anyway.
This seems to cut a bit of time out of the time elapsed between each
sk_buff being timestamped and turning up in rxrpc (the final number in the
following trace excerpts). I measured this by making the rxrpc_rx_packet
trace point print the time elapsed between the skb being timestamped and
the current time (in ns), e.g.:
... 424.278721: rxrpc_rx_packet: ... ACK 25026

Commit c601171d7a60 ("net/smc: provide smc mode in smc_diag.c") changed
the name of diag_fallback field of struct smc_diag_msg structure
to diag_mode. However, this structure is a part of UAPI, and this change
breaks user space applications that use it ([1], for example). Since
the new name is more suitable, convert the field to a union that provides
access to the data via both the new and the old name.

Commit 4b1b7d3b30a6 ("net/smc: add SMC-D diag support") introduced
new UAPI-exposed structure, struct smcd_diag_dmbinfo. However,
it's not usable by compat binaries, as it has different layout there.
Probably, the most straightforward fix that will avoid similar issues
in the future is to use __aligned_u64 for 64-bit fields.

virtualization. One important change, not related to nested
virtualization, is that the ability for the guest kernel to trap
CPUID instructions (in Linux that's the ARCH_SET_CPUID arch_prctl) is
now masked by default. This is because the feature is detected
through an MSR; a very bad idea that Intel seems to like more and

Add KVM_CAP_MSR_PLATFORM_INFO so that userspace can disable guest access
to reads of MSR_PLATFORM_INFO.
Disabling access to reads of this MSR gives userspace the control to "expose"
this platform-dependent information to guests in a clear way. As it exists
today, guests that read this MSR would get unpopulated information if userspace
hadn't already set it (and prior to this patch series, only the CPUID faulting
information could have been populated). This existing interface could be
confusing if guests don't handle the potential for incorrect/incomplete
information gracefully (e.g. zero reported for base frequency).

Vince noted that commit:
6cbc304f2f36 ("perf/x86/intel: Fix unwind errors from PEBS entries (mk-II)")
'leaked' __PERF_SAMPLE_CALLCHAIN_EARLY into the UAPI namespace. And
while sys_perf_event_open() will error out if you try to use it, it is
exposed.
Clearly mark it for internal use only to avoid any confusion.

Since this header is in "include/uapi/linux/", apparently people want to
use it in userspace programs -- even in C++ ones. However, the header
uses a C++ reserved keyword ("private"), so change that to "dh_private"
instead to allow the header file to be used in C++ userspace.

The _IOC_READ flag fits this ioctl request more because this request
actually only writes to, but doesn't read from userspace.
See NOTEs in include/uapi/asm-generic/ioctl.h for more information.
