This is a conversion to use a kernel buffer instead. NOTE! It does this by passing the tty line discipline ->read() function an additional "cookie" to fill in, and an offset into the cookie data. The line discipline can fill in the cookie data with its own private information, and then the reader will repeat the read until either the cookie is cleared or it runs out of data. The only real user of this is N_HDLC, which can use this to handle big packets, even if the kernel buffer is smaller than the whole packet. The net-next code, via bpf-next, extracted the reuseport handling into a helper so that the BPF sk lookup code could invoke it. At the same time, the logic for reuseport handling of unconnected sockets changed via commit efc6b6f6c3113e8b203b9debfb72d81e0f3dcace which changed the logic to carry on the reuseport result into the rest of the lookup loop if we do not return immediately. This requires moving the reuseport_has_conns() logic into the callers. While we are here, get rid of inline directives as they do not belong in foo.c files. |/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The current codebase makes use of the zero-length array language extension to the C90 standard, but the preferred mechanism to declare variable-length types such as these ones is a flexible array member[1][2], introduced in C99: struct foo { int stuff; struct boo array[]; }; By making use of the mechanism above, we will get a compiler warning in case the flexible array does not occur last in the structure, which will help us prevent some kind of undefined behavior bugs from being inadvertently introduced[3] to the codebase from now on. Also, notice that, dynamic memory allocations won't be affected by this change: "Flexible array members have incomplete type, and so the sizeof operator may not be applied. As a quirk of the original implementation of zero-length arrays, sizeof evaluates to zero."[1] This issue was found with the help of Coccinelle. The function call path (from bottom to top) in Linux 4.19 is: net/nfc/nci/uart.c, 349: nci_skb_alloc in nci_uart_default_recv_buf net/nfc/nci/uart.c, 255: (FUNC_PTR)nci_uart_default_recv_buf in nci_uart_tty_receive net/nfc/nci/uart.c, 254: spin_lock in nci_uart_tty_receive nci_skb_alloc(GFP_KERNEL) can sleep at runtime. (FUNC_PTR) means a function pointer is called. To fix this bug, GFP_KERNEL is replaced with GFP_ATOMIC for nci_skb_alloc(). This bug is found by a static analysis tool STCheck written by myself.
