* [ROSE] lockdep: fix false positiveRalf Baechle2006-07-121-0/+9
| | | | | | | | | | ROSE network devices are virtual network devices encapsulating ROSE frames into AX.25 which will be sent through an AX.25 device, so form a special "super class" of normal net devices; split their locks off into a separate class since they always nest. Signed-off-by: Ralf Baechle <ralf@linux-mips.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [AX.25]: Use kzallocRalf Baechle2006-07-091-2/+1
| | | | | | | Replace kzalloc instead of kmalloc + memset. Signed-off-by: Ralf Baechle <ralf@linux-mips.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [ROSE]: Try all routes when establishing a ROSE connections.Ralf Baechle2006-07-031-1/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | From Jean-Paul F6FBB ROSE will only try to establish a route using the first route in its routing table. Fix to iterate through all additional routes if a connection attempt has failed. Signed-off-by: Ralf Baechle <ralf@linux-mips.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [ROSE]: Fix dereference of skb pointer after free.Ralf Baechle2006-07-031-1/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | If rose_route_frame return success we'll dereference a stale pointer. Likely this is only going to result in bad statistics for the ROSE interface. This fixes coverity 946. Signed-off-by: Ralf Baechle <ralf@linux-mips.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* Remove obsolete #include <linux/config.h>Jörn Engel2006-06-302-2/+0

* [NETROM/ROSE]: Kill module init version kernel log messages.Ralf Baechle2006-05-051-3/+0
| | | | | | | | | There are out of date and don't tell the user anything useful. The similar messages which IPV4 and the core networking used to output were killed a long time ago. Signed-off-by: Ralf Baechle <ralf@linux-mips.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [ROSE]: Eleminate HZ from ROSE kernel interfacesRalf Baechle2006-05-032-7/+9
| | | | | | | Convert all ROSE sysctl time values from jiffies to ms as units. Signed-off-by: Ralf Baechle <ralf@linux-mips.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [ROSE]: Fix routing table locking in rose_remove_neigh.Ralf Baechle2006-05-031-5/+0
| | | | | | | | | The locking rule for rose_remove_neigh() are that the caller needs to hold rose_neigh_list_lock, so we better don't take it yet again in rose_neigh_list_lock. Signed-off-by: Ralf Baechle <ralf@linux-mips.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [AX25, ROSE]: Remove useless SET_MODULE_OWNER calls.Ralf Baechle2006-05-031-1/+0

* [NET]: Add a dev_ioctl() fallback to sock_ioctl()Christoph Hellwig2006-01-031-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | Currently all network protocols need to call dev_ioctl as the default fallback in their ioctl implementations. This patch adds a fallback to dev_ioctl to sock_ioctl if the protocol returned -ENOIOCTLCMD. This way all the procotol ioctl handlers can be simplified and we don't need to export dev_ioctl. * [ROSE]: ROSE has no ARPRalf Baechle2005-09-121-1/+1
| | | | | | | | ARP over ROSE does not exist so it's obviously not implemented on any ROSE stack, so the ROSE interfaces really should default to IFF_NOARP. Signed-off-by: Ralf Baechle DL5RB <ralf@linux-mips.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

* [NETROM/AX.25/ROSE]: Remove useless testsRalf Baechle2005-09-121-3/+1
| | | | | | | Remove error tests that have already been performed by the caller. Signed-off-by: Ralf Baechle DL5RB <ralf@linux-mips.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [AX.25]: Make asc2ax() thread-proofRalf Baechle2005-09-081-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | Asc2ax was still using a static buffer for all invocations which isn't exactly SMP-safe. Change asc2ax to take an additional result buffer as the argument. Change all callers to provide such a buffer. This one only really is a fix for ROSE and as per recent discussions there's still much more to fix in ROSE ... * [AX25]: Make ax2asc thread-proofRalf Baechle2005-09-063-9/+16

* [AX25/NETROM/ROSE]: Kill net/ip.h inclusionRalf Baechle2005-08-291-1/+0
| | | | | | | | All these are claiming to include <net/ip.h> to get ip_rcv() but in fact don't need the header at all, so away with the inclusion. Signed-off-by: Ralf Baechle DL5RB <ralf@linux-mips.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [TCP]: Move the tcp sock states to net/tcp_states.hArnaldo Carvalho de Melo2005-08-295-5/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | Lots of places just needs the states, not even linux/tcp.h, where this enum was, needs it. This speeds up development of the refactorings as less sources are rebuilt when things get moved from net/tcp.h. Signed-off-by: Arnaldo Carvalho de Melo <acme@ghostprotocols.net> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [NET]: Kill skb->listDavid S. Miller2005-08-291-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Remove the "list" member of struct sk_buff, as it is entirely redundant. All SKB list removal callers know which list the SKB is on, so storing this in sk_buff does nothing other than taking up some space. Two tricky bits were SCTP, which I took care of, and two ATM drivers which Francois Romieu <romieu@fr.zoreil.com> fixed up. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net> Signed-off-by: Francois Romieu <romieu@fr.zoreil.com>

* [AX25]: UID fixesRalf Baechle2005-08-231-7/+13
| | | | | | | | | | | | o Brown paperbag bug - ax25_findbyuid() was always returning a NULL pointer as the result. Breaks ROSE completly and AX.25 if UID policy set to deny. o While the list structure of AX.25's UID to callsign mapping table was properly protected by a spinlock, it's elements were not refcounted resulting in a race between removal and usage of an element. * [NET]: Fix socket bitop damageRalf Baechle2005-08-231-6/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The socket flag cleanups that went into 2.6.12-rc1 are basically oring the flags of an old socket into the socket just being created. Unfortunately that one was just initialized by sock_init_data(), so already has SOCK_ZAPPED set. As the result zapped sockets are created and all incoming connection will fail due to this bug which again was carefully replicated to at least AX.25, NET/ROM or ROSE. In order to keep the abstraction alive I've introduced sock_copy_flags() to copy the socket flags from one sockets to another and used that instead of the bitwise copy thing. Anyway, the idea here has probably been to copy all flags, so sock_copy_flags() should be the right thing. With this the ham radio protocols are usable again, so I hope this will make it into 2.6.13. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
