[ Upstream commit 19e4e768064a87b073a4b4c138b55db70e0cfb9f ]
inet_iif should be used for the raw socket lookup. inet_iif considers
rt_iif which handles the case of local traffic.
As it stands, ping to a local address with the '-I <dev>' option fails
ever since ping was changed to use SO_BINDTODEVICE instead of
cmsg + IP_PKTINFO.
IPv6 works fine.

[ Upstream commit 873017af778439f2f8e3d87f28ddb1fcaf244a76 ]
With NET_ADMIN enabled in container, a normal user could be mapped to
root and is able to change the real device's rx filter via ioctl on
vlan, which would affect the other ptp process on host. Fix it by
disabling SIOCSHWTSTAMP in container.

[ Upstream commit bdfad5aec1392b93495b77b864d58d7f101dc1c1 ]
Currently error return from kobject_init_and_add() is not followed by a
call to kobject_put(). This means there is a memory leak. We currently
set p to NULL so that kfree() may be called on it as a noop, the code is
arguably clearer if we move the kfree() up closer to where it is
called (instead of after goto jump).
Remove a goto label 'err1' and jump to call to kobject_put() in error
return from kobject_init_and_add() fixing the memory leak. Re-name goto
label 'put_back' to 'err1' now that we don't use err1, following current
nomenclature (err1, err2 ...). Move call to kfree out of the error
code at bottom of function up to closer to where memory was allocated.
Add comment to clarify call to kfree().

commit 8d29d16d21342a0c86405d46de0c4ac5daf1760f upstream
If a non zero value happens to be in xt[NFPROTO_BRIDGE].cur at init
time, the following panic can be caused by running
% ebtables -t broute -F BROUTING
from a 32-bit user level on a 64-bit kernel. This patch replaces
kmalloc_array with kcalloc when allocating xt.

commit a1616a5ac99ede5d605047a9012481ce7ff18b16 upstream.
Struct ca is copied from userspace. It is not checked whether the "name"
field is NULL terminated, which allows local users to obtain potentially
sensitive information from kernel stack memory, via a HIDPCONNADD command.
This vulnerability is similar to CVE-2011-1079.

Packet sockets in datagram mode take a destination address. Verify its
length before passing to dev_hard_header.
Prior to 2.6.14-rc3, the send code ignored sll_halen. This is
established behavior. Directly compare msg_namelen to dev->addr_len.
Change v1->v2: initialize addr in all paths

A request for a flowlabel fails in process or user exclusive mode must
fail if the caller pid or uid does not match. Invert the test.
Previously, the test was unsafe wrt PID recycling, but indeed tested
for inequality: fl1->owner != fl->owner

[ Upstream commit d2f0c961148f65bc73eda72b9fa3a4e80973cb49 ]
Previously, during fragmentation after forwarding, skb->skb_iif isn't
preserved, i.e. 'ip_copy_metadata' does not copy skb_iif from given
'from' skb.
As a result, ip_do_fragment's creates fragments with zero skb_iif,
leading to inconsistent behavior.
Assume for example an eBPF program attached at tc egress (post
forwarding) that examines __sk_buff->ingress_ifindex:
- the correct iif is observed if forwarding path does not involve
fragmentation/refragmentation
- a bogus iif is observed if forwarding path involves
fragmentation/refragmentatiom
Fix, by preserving skb_iif during 'ip_copy_metadata'.

[ Upstream commit 20ff83f10f113c88d0bb74589389b05250994c16 ]
Before calling __ip_options_compile(), we need to ensure the network
header is a an IPv4 one, and that it is already pulled in skb->head.
RAW sockets going through a tunnel can end up calling ipv4_link_failure()
with total garbage in the skb, or arbitrary lengthes.

commit d58431eacb226222430940134d97bfd72f292fcd upstream.
A recent commit added a call to cache_fresh_locked()
when an expired item was found.
The call sets the CACHE_VALID flag, so it is important
that the item actually is valid.
There are two ways it could be valid:
1/ If ->update has been called to fill in relevant content
2/ if CACHE_NEGATIVE is set, to say that content doesn't exist.
An expired item that is waiting for an update will be neither.
Setting CACHE_VALID will mean that a subsequent call to cache_put()
will be likely to dereference uninitialised pointers.
So we must make sure the item is valid, and we already have code to do
that in try_to_negate_entry(). This takes the hash lock and so cannot
be used directly, so take out the two lines that we need and use them.
Now cache_fresh_locked() is certain to be called only on
a valid item.

[ Upstream commit 50ce163a72d817a99e8974222dcf2886d5deb1ae ]
For some reason, tcp_grow_window() correctly tests if enough room
is present before attempting to increase tp->rcv_ssthresh,
but does not prevent it to grow past tcp_space()
This is causing hard to debug issues, like failing
the (__tcp_select_window(sk) >= tp->rcv_wnd) test
in __tcp_ack_snd_check(), causing ACK delays and possibly
slow flows.
Depending on tcp_rmem[2], MTU, skb->len/skb->truesize ratio,
we can see the problem happening on "netperf -t TCP_RR -- -r 2000,2000"
after about 60 round trips, when the active side no longer sends
immediate acks.
This bug predates git history.

Commit 355b98553789 ("netns: provide pure entropy for net_hash_mix()")
makes net_hash_mix() return a true 32 bits of entropy. When used in the
IP ID generation algorithm, this has the effect of extending the IP ID
generation key from 32 bits to 64 bits.
However, net_hash_mix() is only used for IP ID generation starting with
kernel version 4.1. Therefore, earlier kernels remain with 32-bit key
no matter what the net_hash_mix() return value is.
This change addresses the issue by explicitly extending the key to 64
bits for kernels older than 4.1.

[ Upstream commit b2e54b09a3d29c4db883b920274ca8dca4d9f04d ]
The device type for ip6 tunnels is set to
ARPHRD_TUNNEL6. However, the ip4ip6_err function
is expecting the device type of the tunnel to be
ARPHRD_TUNNEL. Since the device types do not
match, the function exits and the ICMP error
packet is not sent to the originating host. Note
that the device type for IPv4 tunnels is set to
ARPHRD_TUNNEL.
Fix is to expect a tunnel device type of
ARPHRD_TUNNEL6 instead. Now the tunnel device
type matches and the ICMP error packet is sent
to the originating host.

NULL or ZERO_SIZE_PTR will be returned for zero sized memory
request, and derefencing them will lead to a segfault
so it is unnecessory to call vzalloc for zero sized memory
request and not call functions which maybe derefence the
NULL allocated memory
this also fixes a possible memory leak if phy_ethtool_get_stats
returns error, memory should be freed before exit

net_hash_mix() currently uses kernel address of a struct net,
and is used in many places that could be used to reveal this
address to a patient attacker, thus defeating KASLR, for
the typical case (initial net namespace, &init_net is
not dynamically allocated)
I believe the original implementation tried to avoid spending
too many cycles in this function, but security comes first.
Also provide entropy regardless of CONFIG_NET_NS.

It was caused by that th _pad field (the 8-15 bytes) of a v4 addr (saved in

in sctp_getsockopt_peer_addrs().
So fix it by calling memset(addr->v4.sin_zero, 0, 8) to initialize _pad of

sctp_v6_addr_to_user() does.

The flow action buffer can be resized if it's not big enough to contain
all the requested flow actions. However, this resize doesn't take into
account the new requested size, the buffer is only increased by a factor
of 2x. This might be not enough to contain the new data, causing a
buffer overflow, for example:

[ Upstream commit a4dc6a49156b1f8d6e17251ffda17c9e6a5db78a ]
When using fanouts with AF_PACKET, the demux functions such as
fanout_demux_cpu will return an index in the fanout socket array, which
corresponds to the selected socket.
The ordering of this array depends on the order the sockets were added
to a given fanout group, so for FANOUT_CPU this means sockets are bound
to cpus in the order they are configured, which is OK.
However, when stopping then restarting the interface these sockets are
bound to, the sockets are reassigned to the fanout group in the reverse
order, due to the fact that they were inserted at the head of the
interface's AF_PACKET socket list.
This means that traffic that was directed to the first socket in the
fanout group is now directed to the last one after an interface restart.
In the case of FANOUT_CPU, traffic from CPU0 will be directed to the
socket that used to receive traffic from the last CPU after an interface
restart.
This commit introduces a helper to add a socket at the tail of a list,
then uses it to register AF_PACKET sockets.
Note that this changes the order in which sockets are listed in /proc and
with sock_diag.

rose_write_internal() uses a temp buffer of 100 bytes, but a manual
inspection showed that given arbitrary input, rose_create_facilities()
can fill up to 110 bytes.
Lets use a tailroom of 256 bytes for peace of mind, and remove
the bounce buffer : we can simply allocate a big enough skb
and adjust its length as needed.

[ Upstream commit 398f0132c14754fcd03c1c4f8e7176d001ce8ea1 ]
Since commit fc62814d690c ("net/packet: fix 4gb buffer limit due to overflow check")
one can now allocate packet ring buffers >= UINT_MAX. However, syzkaller
found that that triggers a warning:

[ Upstream commit 4ef8c1c93f848e360754f10eb2e7134c872b6597 ]
Ilan reported that sometimes nl80211 messages weren't working if
the frames being transported got very large, which was really a
problem for userspace-to-kernel messages, but prompted me to look
at the code.
Upon review, I found various places where variable-length data is
transported in an nl80211 message but the message isn't allocated
taking that into account. This shouldn't cause any problems since
the frames aren't really that long, apart in one place where two
(possibly very long frames) might not fit.
Fix all the places (that I found) that get variable length data
from the driver and put it into a message to take the length of
the variable data into account. The 100 there is just a safe
constant for the remaining message overhead (it's usually around
50 for most messages.)

commit 7c9cbd0b5e38a1672fcd137894ace3b042dfbf69 upstream.
The function l2cap_get_conf_opt will return L2CAP_CONF_OPT_SIZE + opt->len
as length value. The opt->len however is in control over the remote user
and can be used by an attacker to gain access beyond the bounds of the
actual packet.
To prevent any potential leak of heap memory, it is enough to check that
the resulting len calculation after calling l2cap_get_conf_opt is not
below zero. A well formed packet will always return >= 0 here and will
end with the length value being zero after the last option has been
parsed. In case of malformed packets messing with the opt->len field the
length value will become negative. If that is the case, then just abort
and ignore the option.
In case an attacker uses a too short opt->len value, then garbage will
be parsed, but that is protected by the unknown option handling and also
the option parameter size checks.

commit af3d5d1c87664a4f150fcf3534c6567cb19909b0 upstream.
When doing option parsing for standard type values of 1, 2 or 4 octets,
the value is converted directly into a variable instead of a pointer. To
avoid being tricked into being a pointer, check that for these option
types that sizes actually match. In L2CAP every option is fixed size and
thus it is prudent anyway to ensure that the remote side sends us the
right option size along with option paramters.
If the option size is not matching the option type, then that option is
silently ignored. It is a protocol violation and instead of trying to
give the remote attacker any further hints just pretend that option is
not present and proceed with the default values. Implementation
following the specification and its qualification procedures will always
use the correct size and thus not being impacted here.
To keep the code readable and consistent accross all options, a few
cosmetic changes were also required.

[ Upstream commit ae3b564179bfd06f32d051b9e5d72ce4b2a07c37 ]
Several u->addr and u->path users are not holding any locks in
common with unix_bind(). unix_state_lock() is useless for those
purposes.
u->addr is assign-once and *(u->addr) is fully set up by the time
we set u->addr (all under unix_table_lock). u->path is also
set in the same critical area, also before setting u->addr, and
any unix_sock with ->path filled will have non-NULL ->addr.
So setting ->addr with smp_store_release() is all we need for those
"lockless" users - just have them fetch ->addr with smp_load_acquire()
and don't even bother looking at ->path if they see NULL ->addr.
Users of ->addr and ->path fall into several classes now:
1) ones that do smp_load_acquire(u->addr) and access *(u->addr)
and u->path only if smp_load_acquire() has returned non-NULL.
2) places holding unix_table_lock. These are guaranteed that
*(u->addr) is seen fully initialized. If unix_sock is in one of the
"bound" chains, so's ->path.
3) unix_sock_destructor() using ->addr is safe. All places
that set u->addr are guaranteed to have seen all stores *(u->addr)
while holding a reference to u and unix_sock_destructor() is called
when (atomic) refcount hits zero.
4) unix_release_sock() using ->path is safe. unix_bind()
is serialized wrt unix_release() (normally - by struct file
refcount), and for the instances that had ->path set by unix_bind()
unix_release_sock() comes from unix_release(), so they are fine.
Instances that had it set in unix_stream_connect() either end up
attached to a socket (in unix_accept()), in which case the call
chain to unix_release_sock() and serialization are the same as in
the previous case, or they never get accept'ed and unix_release_sock()
is called when the listener is shut down and its queue gets purged.
In that case the listener's queue lock provides the barriers needed -
unix_stream_connect() shoves our unix_sock into listener's queue
under that lock right after having set ->path and eventual
unix_release_sock() caller picks them from that queue under the
same lock right before calling unix_release_sock().
5) unix_find_other() use of ->path is pointless, but safe -
it happens with successful lookup by (abstract) name, so ->path.dentry
is guaranteed to be NULL there.

ipv4 in commit 709772e6e065 ("net: Fix routing tables with
id > 255 for legacy software").

[ Upstream commit 797a22bd5298c2674d927893f46cadf619dad11d ]
syzbot was able to trigger another soft lockup [1]
I first thought it was the O(N^2) issue I mentioned in my
prior fix (f657d22ee1f "net/x25: do not hold the cpu
too long in x25_new_lci()"), but I eventually found
that x25_bind() was not checking SOCK_ZAPPED state under
socket lock protection.
This means that multiple threads can end up calling
x25_insert_socket() for the same socket, and corrupt x25_list

[ Upstream commit ee74d0bd4325efb41e38affe5955f920ed973f23 ]
In case x25_connect() fails and frees the socket neighbour,
we also need to undo the change done to x25->state.
Before my last bug fix, we had use-after-free so this
patch fixes a latent bug.

[ Upstream commit 95d6ebd53c79522bf9502dbc7e89e0d63f94dae4 ]
In case of failure x25_connect() does a x25_neigh_put(x25->neighbour)
but forgets to clear x25->neighbour pointer, thus triggering use-after-free.
Since the socket is visible in x25_list, we need to hold x25_list_lock
to protect the operation.

Back in 2013 Hannes took care of most of such leaks in commit
bceaa90240b6 ("inet: prevent leakage of uninitialized memory to user in recv syscalls")
But the bug in l2tp_ip6_recvmsg() has not been fixed.

[ Upstream commit dd9ee3444014e8f28c0eefc9fffc9ac9c5248c12 ]
Recently we run a network test over ipcomp virtual tunnel. We find that
if a ipv4 packet needs fragment, then the peer can't receive
it.
We deep into the code and find that when packet need fragment the smaller
fragment will be encapsulated by ipip not ipcomp. So when the ipip packet
goes into xfrm, it's skb->dev is not properly set. The ipv4 reassembly code
always set skb'dev to the last fragment's dev. After ipv4 defrag processing,
when the kernel rp_filter parameter is set, the skb will be drop by -EXDEV
error.
This patch adds compatible support for the ipip process in ipcomp virtual tunnel.

[ Upstream commit 87c11f1ddbbad38ad8bad47af133a8208985fbdf ]
Similar to commit 44f49dd8b5a6 ("ipmr: fix possible race resulting from
improper usage of IP_INC_STATS_BH() in preemptible context."), we cannot
assume preemption is disabled when incrementing the counter and
accessing a per-CPU variable.
Preemption can be enabled when we add a route in process context that
corresponds to packets stored in the unresolved queue, which are then
forwarded using this route [1].
Fix this by using IP6_INC_STATS() which takes care of disabling
preemption on architectures where it is needed.

[ Upstream commit 5578de4834fe0f2a34fedc7374be691443396d1f ]
There are two array out-of-bounds memory accesses, one in
cipso_v4_map_lvl_valid(), the other in netlbl_bitmap_walk(). Both
errors are embarassingly simple, and the fixes are straightforward.
As a FYI for anyone backporting this patch to kernels prior to v4.8,
you'll want to apply the netlbl_bitmap_walk() patch to
cipso_v4_bitmap_walk() as netlbl_bitmap_walk() doesn't exist before
Linux v4.8.
