* ALSA: ac97: set variables dev_attr_vendor_id to staticYu Liao2023-08-021-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | sparse reports sound/ac97/bus.c:465:1: sparse: sparse: symbol 'dev_attr_vendor_id' was not declared. Should it be static? This variable is only used in its defining file, so it should be static. * ALSA: ac97: make remove callback of ac97 driver void returnedDawei Li2023-01-251-3/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Since commit fc7a6209d571 ("bus: Make remove callback return void") forces bus_type::remove be void-returned, it doesn't make much sense for any bus based driver implementing remove callbalk to return non-void to its caller. As such, change the remove function for ac97 based drivers to return void. * ALSA: ac97: Replace sprintf() with sysfs_emit()Takashi Iwai2022-08-021-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | For sysfs outputs, it's safer to use a new helper, sysfs_emit(), instead of the raw sprintf() & co. This patch replaces the open code straightforwardly with a new helper. * bus: Make remove callback return voidUwe Kleine-König2021-07-211-4/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The driver core ignores the return value of this callback because there is only little it can do when a device disappears. This is the final bit of a long lasting cleanup quest where several buses were converted to also return void from their remove callback. Additionally some resource leaks were fixed that were caused by drivers returning an error code in the expectation that the driver won't go away. With struct bus_type::remove returning void it's prevented that newly implemented buses return an ignored error code and so don't anticipate wrong expectations for driver authors. * ALSA: ac97: Fix of-node refcount unbalanceTakashi Iwai2019-02-191-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | ac97_of_get_child_device() take the refcount of the node explicitly via of_node_get(), but this leads to an unbalance. The for_each_child_of_node() loop itself takes the refcount for each iteration node, hence you don't need to take the extra refcount again. * ALSA: ac97: add an ac97 busRobert Jarzmik2017-09-046-0/+705
AC97 is a bus for sound usage. It enables for a AC97 AC-Link to link one controller to 0 to 4 AC97 codecs. The goal of this new implementation is to implement a device/driver model for AC97, with an automatic scan of the bus and automatic discovery of AC97 codec devices.
