* arch: remove frv portArnd Bergmann2018-03-091-352/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The Fujitsu FRV kernel port has been around for a long time, but has not seen regular updates in several years and instead was marked 'Orphaned' in 2016 by long-time maintainer David Howells. The SoC product line apparently is apparently still around in the form of the Socionext Milbeaut image processor, but this one no longer uses the FRV CPU cores. This removes all FRV specific files from the kernel. Link: http://www.socionext.com/en/products/assp/milbeaut/ Cc: David Howells <dhowells@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de>
* Replace <asm/uaccess.h> with <linux/uaccess.h> globallyLinus Torvalds2016-12-241-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | This was entirely automated, using the script by Al: PATT='^[[:blank:]]*#[[:blank:]]*include[[:blank:]]*<asm/uaccess.h>' sed -i -e "s!$PATT!#include <linux/uaccess.h>!" \ $(git grep -l "$PATT"|grep -v ^include/linux/uaccess.h) to do the replacement at the end of the merge window. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Commit 6afe1a1fe8ff ("PM: Remove legacy PM") removed the initialization of retval, causing: arch/frv/kernel/pm.c: In function 'sysctl_pm_do_suspend': arch/frv/kernel/pm.c:165:5: warning: 'retval' may be used uninitialized in this function [-Wuninitialized] Remove the variable completely to fix this, and convert to a proper switch (...) { ... } construct to improve readability. * sysctl: Drop & in front of every proc_handler.Eric W. Biederman2009-11-181-4/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | For consistency drop & in front of every proc_handler. Explicity taking the address is unnecessary and it prevents optimizations like stubbing the proc_handlers to NULL. * sysctl frv: Remove dead binary sysctl supportEric W. Biederman2009-11-121-104/+2
| | | | | | | | Now that sys_sysctl is a generic wrapper around /proc/sys .ctl_name and .strategy members of sysctl tables are dead code. Remove them. Cc: David Howells <dhowells@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Eric W. Biederman <ebiederm@xmission.com>

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | It's unused. It isn't needed -- read or write flag is already passed and sysctl shouldn't care about the rest. It _was_ used in two places at arch/frv for some reason. Signed-off-by: Alexey Dobriyan <adobriyan@gmail.com> Cc: David Howells <dhowells@redhat.com> Cc: "Eric W. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | name and nlen parameters passed to ->strategy hook are unused, remove them. In general ->strategy hook should know what it's doing, and don't do something tricky for which, say, pointer to original userspace array may be needed (name). * PM: Remove legacy PMPavel Machek2008-04-151-8/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | AFAICT pm_send_all is a nop when noone uses pm_register... Hmm.. can we just force CONFIG_PM_LEGACY=n, and see what happens? Or maybe this is better idea? It may break build somewhere, but it should be easy to fix... (it builds here, i386 and x86-64). * [PATCH] sysctl: remove insert_at_head from register_sysctlEric W. Biederman2007-02-141-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The semantic effect of insert_at_head is that it would allow new registered sysctl entries to override existing sysctl entries of the same name. Which is pain for caching and the proc interface never implemented. I have done an audit and discovered that none of the current users of register_sysctl care as (excpet for directories) they do not register duplicate sysctl entries. So this patch simply removes the support for overriding existing entries in the sys_sysctl interface since no one uses it or cares and it makes future enhancments harder. Signed-off-by: Eric W. * [PATCH] FRV: Fix FRV arch compile errorsDavid Howells2006-07-101-5/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Fix some FRV arch compile errors, including: (*) Marking nr_kernel_pages as __meminitdata so that references to it end up being properly calculated rather than being assumed to be in the small data section (and thus calculated wrt the GP register). Not doing this causes the linker to emit errors as the offset is too big to fit into the load instruction. (*) Move pm_power_off into an unconditionally compiled .c file as it's now unconditionally accessed. (*) Declare frv_change_cmode() in a header file rather than in a .c file, and declare it asmlinkage. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
