* rtlwifi: rtl818x: Move drivers into new realtek directoryLarry Finger2015-10-141-717/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | Now that a new mac80211-based driver for Realtek devices has been submitted, it is time to reorganize the directories. Rather than having directories rtlwifi and rtl818x be in drivers/net/wireless/, they will now be in drivers/net/wireless/realtek/. This change simplifies the directory structure, but does not result in any configuration changes that are visable to the user. * rtlwifi: rtl8821ae: Switch to use common rate control routineLarry Finger2014-12-241-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | With this change, all of the drivers now use the common routine. As this driver has VHT capability, an additional parameter is needed, thus all the drivers had to be modified. Signed-off-by: Larry Finger <Larry.Finger@lwfinger.net> Signed-off-by: Kalle Valo <kvalo@codeaurora.org>
* rtlwifi: rtl8723ae: Modify driver to use rate-mapping routine in coreLarry Finger2014-12-241-160/+2
| | | | | | | This driver is also converted to use the rate-mapping code in the core. Signed-off-by: Larry Finger <Larry.Finger@lwfinger.net> Signed-off-by: Kalle Valo <kvalo@codeaurora.org>

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Indenting errors yielded the following static checker warnings: drivers/net/wireless/rtlwifi/rtl8192ee/hw.c:533 rtl92ee_set_hw_reg() warn: add curly braces? (if) drivers/net/wireless/rtlwifi/rtl8192ee/hw.c:539 rtl92ee_set_hw_reg() warn: add curly braces? * rtlwifi: rtl8723be: Update driver to match Realtek release of 06/28/14Larry Finger2014-09-301-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch updates the driver to match the latest Realtek release, and it is an important step in getting the internal code source at Realtek to match the code in the kernel. The primary reason for this is to make it easier for Realtek to maintain the kernel source without requiring an intermediate like me. In this process of merging the two source repositories, there are a lot of changes in both, and this commit is rather large. * rtlwifi: Remove casts of pointer to same typeJoe Perches2014-03-271-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Casting a pointer to a pointer of the same type is pointless, so remove these unnecessary casts. | | | | | | | | | | | rtl8188eu: Modify for new API The addition of a driver for the RTL8821AE requires a new API for the fill_tx_desc() and set_desc() callback routines. * mac80211: add length check in ieee80211_is_robust_mgmt_frame()Johannes Berg2014-02-041-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | A few places weren't checking that the frame passed to the function actually has enough data even though the function clearly documents it must have a payload byte. Make this safer by changing the function to take an skb and checking the length inside. The old version is preserved for now as the rtl* drivers use it and don't have a correct skb. * rtlwifi: Remove all remaining references to variable 'noise' in rtl_stats structLarry Finger2013-10-031-1/+0

* mac80211: stop toggling IEEE80211_HT_CAP_SUP_WIDTH_20_40Johannes Berg2013-02-151-2/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | For VHT, many more bandwidth changes are possible. As a first step, stop toggling the IEEE80211_HT_CAP_SUP_WIDTH_20_40 flag in the HT capabilities and instead introduce a bandwidth field indicating the currently usable bandwidth to transmit to the station. Of course, make all drivers use it. To achieve this, make ieee80211_ht_cap_ie_to_sta_ht_cap() get the station as an argument, rather than the new capabilities, so it can set up the new bandwidth field. If the station is a VHT station and VHT bandwidth is in use, also set the bandwidth accordingly. Doing this allows us to get rid of the supports_40mhz flag as the HT capabilities now reflect the true capability instead of the current setting. While at it, also fix ieee80211_ht_cap_ie_to_sta_ht_cap() to not ignore HT cap overrides when MCS TX isn't supported (not that it really happens...)
