Many singleton patches in many places. The notable patch series are: - nilfs2 folio conversion from Matthew Wilcox in 'nilfs2: Folio conversions for file paths'. - Additional nilfs2 folio conversion from Ryusuke Konishi in 'nilfs2: Folio conversions for directory paths'. - IA64 remnant removal in Heiko Carstens's 'Remove unused code after IA-64 removal'. - Arnd Bergmann has enabled the -Wmissing-prototypes warning everywhere in 'Treewide: enable -Wmissing-prototypes'. This had some followup fixes: - Nathan Chancellor has cleaned up the hexagon build in the series 'hexagon: Fix up instances of -Wmissing-prototypes'. - Nathan also addressed some s390 warnings in 's390: A couple of fixes for -Wmissing-prototypes'. - Arnd Bergmann addresses the same warnings for MIPS in his series 'mips: address -Wmissing-prototypes warnings'. - Baoquan He has made kexec_file operate in a top-down-fitting manner similar to kexec_load in the series 'kexec_file: Load kernel at top of system RAM if required' - Baoquan He has also added the self-explanatory 'kexec_file: print out debugging message if required'. - Some checkstack maintenance work from Tiezhu Yang in the series 'Modify some code about checkstack'. - Douglas Anderson has disentangled the watchdog code's logging when multiple reports are occurring simultaneously. The series is 'watchdog: Better handling of concurrent lockups'. - Yuntao Wang has contributed some maintenance work on the crash code in 'crash: Some cleanups and fixes'" * tag 'mm-nonmm-stable-2024-01-09-10-33' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/akpm/mm: (157 commits) crash_core: fix and simplify the logic of crash_exclude_mem_range() x86/crash: use SZ_1M macro instead of hardcoded value x86/crash: remove the unused image parameter from prepare_elf_headers() kdump: remove redundant DEFAULT_CRASH_KERNEL_LOW_SIZE scripts/decode_stacktrace.sh: strip unexpected CR from lines watchdog: if panicking and we dumped everything, don't re-enable dumping watchdog/hardlockup: use printk_cpu_sync_get_irqsave() to serialize reporting watchdog/softlockup: use printk_cpu_sync_get_irqsave() to serialize reporting watchdog/hardlockup: adopt softlockup logic avoiding double-dumps kexec_core: fix the assignment to kimage->control_page x86/kexec: fix incorrect end address passed to kernel_ident_mapping_init() lib/trace_readwrite.c:: replace asm-generic/io with linux/io nilfs2: cpfile: fix some kernel-doc warnings stacktrace: fix kernel-doc typo scripts/checkstack.pl: fix no space expression between sp and offset x86/kexec: fix incorrect argument passed to kexec_dprintk() x86/kexec: use pr_err() instead of kexec_dprintk() when an error occurs nilfs2: add missing set_freezable() for freezable kthread kernel: relay: remove relay_file_splice_read dead code, doesn't work docs: submit-checklist: remove all of "make namespacecheck" ...

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Patch series "Treewide: enable -Wmissing-prototypes", v3. At this point, there are five architectures with a number of known regressions: alpha, nios2, mips, sh and sparc. In the previous version of this patch, I had turned off the missing prototype warnings for the 15 architectures that still had issues, but since there are only five left, I think we can leave the rest to the maintainers (Cc'd here) as well. The series is also likely to cause occasional build regressions on linux-next as developers add new code that misses prototypes. Hopefully this should be resolved by the time the patches make it into a release and everyone gets the warnings right away. This patch (of 6): There is no global declaration for ida_dump() and no other callers, so make it static to avoid this warning: lib/test_ida.c:16:6: error: no previous prototype for 'ida_dump' Link: https://lkml.kernel.org/r/20231123110506.707903-1-arnd@kernel.org Link: https://lkml.kernel.org/r/20231123110506.707903-2-arnd@kernel.org Fixes: 8ab8ba38d488 ("ida: Start new test_ida module") Signed-off-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de> Cc: "David S. * | ida: Fix crash in ida_free when the bitmap is emptyMatthew Wilcox (Oracle)2023-12-211-0/+40
|/ | | | | | | | | | | | | The IDA usually detects double-frees, but that detection failed to consider the case when there are no nearby IDs allocated and so we have a NULL bitmap rather than simply having a clear bit. Add some tests to the test-suite to be sure we don't inadvertently reintroduce this problem. Unfortunately they're quite noisy so include a message to disregard the warnings. * test_ida: Fix lockdep warningMatthew Wilcox2018-10-151-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | The IDA was declared on the stack instead of statically, so lockdep triggered a warning that it was improperly initialised. Reported-by: 0day bot Tested-by: Rong Chen <rong.a.chen@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Matthew Wilcox <willy@infradead.org>
* test_ida: check_ida_destroy and check_ida_allocMatthew Wilcox2018-08-211-0/+54
| | | | | | | Move these tests from the userspace test-suite to the kernel test-suite. Also convert check_ida_random to the new API. Signed-off-by: Matthew Wilcox <willy@infradead.org>
* test_ida: Convert check_ida_conv to new APIMatthew Wilcox2018-08-211-0/+30
| | | | | | | | Move as much as possible to kernel space; leave the parts in user space that rely on checking memory allocation failures to detect the transition between an exceptional entry and a bitmap. Signed-off-by: Matthew Wilcox <willy@infradead.org>
* test_ida: Move ida_check_maxMatthew Wilcox2018-08-211-0/+23

* test_ida: Move ida_check_leafMatthew Wilcox2018-08-211-0/+25
| | | | | | | Convert to new API and move to kernel space. Take the opportunity to test the situation a little more thoroughly (ie at different offsets). Signed-off-by: Matthew Wilcox <willy@infradead.org>
